Spacing out the boss will push the driven face away from the variator which would decrease the range the belt can move up the variator. You want the opposite, you want the driven face closer to the variator so the belt will move further up the variator giving you a better high speed ratio. Personally I run Polini variator, OE drive boss, OE Brando belt with blue engagement springs in the clutch for a better takeoff. That simple setup has seen 55-60+ on all my GETs for the past decade
I found very little change in the top speed when i switched out just the rollers. After installing a complete performance cvt kit, the bike consistently ran 3-4mph faster.
not a whole lot you can do for top speed while still keeping it relatively stock. I put on a yoshimura exhaust and a slide carb from JC Racing on mine and it really woke it up, but it doesn't feel stock lol. currently using 5g rollers to help with the hills
@@eastcoastish haven't done a proper top speed test yet, but I have gotten it to 45 with RPM to spare. the big thing is that it holds 40 up medium grade hills, that's what I was after. edit: you should look into metropolitan gears, drop in replacement with a taller ratio. they kill acceleration though, so most people run them with 4-4.5g weights
I just recently got my 2024 and been looking around for videos on some modifications. So far like this video. Please keep making more of them.👍🏽
Crazy that this has been the essentially same scooter for 2 decades!

what CVT kit did you use?
@@eastcoastish I installed a cvt kit from Rolling Wrench. Also installed an open cvt cover from The Ruck Shop to make it easier to switch out rollers.
Good video. What speedometer app are you using?
It's just called "speedometer" and honestly it's laden with adds and other BS, but it works for testing like this.
Perhaps a lighter weight performance clutch bell system?
Yeh, and may also try lighter rollers too since i'm a light rider. more to come!

how much top speed did you pick up with the exhaust + slide carb?

Hey guys so i clocked my stock Ruckus topping out at 41mph. Do you think a Yoshimura or similar exhaust would add any mph to that?
Mine does 39-40 max....bone stock.
