Well THIS one sure hit home! I'm a former drag racer who loves e-bikes, so this was right up my alley. Yes, the 24" wheels will improve torque delivered to the ground. On dual motor bikes, the power from the rear motor tends to unload wight from the front, making traction worse. BUT, the front wheel doing a burnout still contributes to overall performance, and is better than the front wheel doing nothing. A smooth street tire with a soft compound, and a low tire pressure, will help dual motor launches. I estimate a 0.3 to 0.5 second improvement. Thanks for the awesome video!
Yeah me too, Outlaw 10.5 Monte Carlo back when low 5s in the 1/8th was fast LOL. Got a 96 volt Wired Freedom these days.....its a lot cheaper to run ;-) I have not tried any real 1/8th mile passes yet but did make several runs rolling into the throttle to see what the top end was and the Dragy says it went an 11.10 0-60mph with a 11.85s to the 1/8th lifting
I would've liked to see the Meelod DK300 Max, Rollroad Emma and the Furious EMX in this comparison. Just take out all the single motors and use all dual motor bikes 🤣
The smaller tire diameter on the wired freedom increases the force applied at the ground by the tire, but does increase the torque. The torque is supplied by the motor and is not affected by the tire diameter. Torque is simply force X distance. So if torque is constant, reducing the distance it's applied through (i.e. reducing wheel diameter) increases the force applied. You're essentially gaining leverage. Scissors are a good example of this, the closer the object you're cutting is to the hinge, the easier it is to cut.
Niiiiccceee bro !! The Predator would be a HUGE sucess here in EU because of casual design without drawing to much attention ... 😎 Can you try one more ?? Aniioki A9 dual motor !? 😉
This was a fun comparison. I think the tires are impacting the performance of the predator. It would probably do better with some Vee Speedsters. I am also curious if you have tried lowering the front tire pressure for a bigger contact patch. If you have an extra Speedster lying around, it might be worth putting it on the front wheel with 8-10 psi and see if it hooks up better.
Great video as always love to see the bikes head to head i just got your kit on my cruiser i am using the wired 60v battery to power it and it works great i am about to do a video on how's i did it
Another awesome video! Crazy to think that a few years ago e-bikes in general were basically just starting out with a 20mph model and now a 45mph wired predator model that peels out with a ludicrous launch 🚀 and at 40mph in under 10 seconds 😳🤯 Just think when I was riding my BMX bike in the ‘80’s and someone had one of these predator e-bikes and blew right by me 🚀that would be insane! It’s like playing Atari 2600 and then jumping to the PS5🤣 Ok maybe a bad analogy but completely night and day difference! The predator makes my 2024 Wired Cruiser (Single Battery) obsolete 🤣 Although still having a blast with my cruiser though 👍 Almost 700 miles in a little over a year. Wish I had more time to ride but family and kids come first 👍 Again, I always enjoy your videos! Keep them coming ✌️
Because of your vid i tried this test yesterday on my morning commute. Measured out 660’ on my route beforehand using google maps. Used my stop watch. Took me ~16 seconds. I have a 20” fat tire 4500w rear hub with 72v battery and 60a shunt modded controller. Top speed 50mph w enough space. But all your awd bikes smoked me.
@roger3958 I used a measuring wheel to get exactly 660 ft and put down chalk lines. Then, I went frame by frame in the editing software to start the clock as soon as the bike started moving forward and stopped as soon as the front wheel crossed the finish line. I bet you were closer to me than you think, maybe even faster, you have a powerful setup!
Personally, I prefer the setup with your front motor kit on a RWD bike. The separate throttle for the front wheel in order to modulate its contribution is fantastic (rather than just a rear-or-all switch), and having a separate battery that can be used as a "reserve" is a bonus (wouldn't help tho' in my case since I've already got a 1Kw motor on the front axle). I'm in Clayton too, and to get to the Greenway and back along with some riding into Wake County means that I'm pedalling a lot in order to not run out of battery before I can make it back up the hill to home. 22Ah/1075Wh doesn't go as far as advertised lol... so the last thing I do *in practice* is brute battery-draining acceleration. Have you looked into using a big direct drive hub with brake regen for your front motor kit? I can see that being useful once the front battery is drained sufficiently to accept the regen recharge. Food for thought, I'd be useful if it could help eke out another mile or two ... Cheers!
I don't think drag racing is much of a concern when considering the manufacturing process..I like that wired cruiser with the front motor kit, nice bike..
notice there hasn't been one person to review a monstar unless they're getting paid to do so but there are multiple predator owners testing their own AND the predator hasn't been out as long. makes you wonder why no one is purchasing the ecells.
I've done this with my Philodo H8 completely stock it does : 0-20 in 6.05 seconds, 0-30 in 11.35 seconds, 1/8 mile in 18.91 seconds @ 34.43 mph with a top GPS measured speed of 34.59 mph with a 220 lb rider on Ultraverse tires
I'd like to lean over the front wheel on the Predator and let'r rip! Try and get the power to the pavement. Loved the video, these are way faster than my Himiway!
I wonder if you could put a basket on the Wired predator with another 20 lbs in it, if that would be of aid to launching? Or change the tires to a street slick or street tread? Reduce the air in the tire.
i have origin8 supercells on my Freedom, they max out at 20psi. for acceleration runs their probably the perfect tire for the predator but defeat the purpose since it's made for climbing off road.
If you wanna see fast, take the Predator and put a 24" on the rear (where it can use the extra torque....yes the smaller to circumference the greater the torque) and run the softest compound smooth tread front tire. Then as far as the chassis tune...max out the rear shock pressure to extend and harden up the rear suspension and tie down the front to keep weight transfer to a minimum. Pour some pimp juice or track bite on the street and spin the front tire in the puddle....pull forward and you will most likely be able to launch full throttle with no tire spin. You should be able to take at least a second or more off your time.
Great video you built a great kit I was thinking about getting one but I have the freedom + and it has the thru axle and I hate having to buy a new fork to thanks for the informative video
Can you try some Predator Predator runs with shifting as much as your weight to the front, as possible? It may eliminate or at least reduce the initial front wheel spin.?
I own a Predator bike. I'm thinking about changing my tires. Going with HEB All Scape tires with the Tannus armor inside the tire. It will add a few pounds and should have a better rubber grip. I'll let you know once I get them. Hopefully around Christmas, when I can afford it.
It still blows my mind that all these ebike companies keep putting out all these heavy bikes. Hard to work on,hard to load on a bike rack, hard to pull the front tire up to get over a curb and manage in tight places. Most folks that are buying e-bikes are not exactly young to handle this therefore I will still DIY my e-bikes and keep them under 60 lbs with well over 4Kw of usable power.
@ A lightening Rods motor is still kind of one of my dream builds but at the moment I am perfectly fine with what I have. The full suspension cottonmouth will certainly be an impressive bike when it comes out for sure.
Hey Bryan, what mirrors do you have on the Aniioki ? also have you ever tested locking out the front suspension and over inflated the tires a little to see if you gain a little speed bump, not sure what the effects would be if anything. But I think in theory at least it should be quicker.
@fasteddie9877 the mirrors on the Aniioki are the ones that came with it. Actually, they vibrate quite a bit they're hard to see out of. Increase the tire pressure would probably help top speed not sure if it would hurt grip on the launch though...
@@CitizenCycle925Yes I'm sorry I somehow missed that, but was more thinking slicks for the wired Predator with its front wheel spinning, love to see what difference slicks make to that bike, which is already a super hot rod.
i think wired only made a hundred of them to see how the public would receive them and seeing how they sold out almost instantly i believe wired will make the predator and dual motor cruiser next year probably in another limited run { fingers crossed }🤞

For the money, the Predator should come with some pretty nice tires to put all that power down. :)
lot of the guys that buy these take them off road, sand, mud etc. unless you use a smooth tire you wont reduce wheelspin. it's a give and take.
haha hilarious now I know that waiting on the 24 inch wheels with my 5 star is the best idea :)
