It actually still hits the liver in this instance because jone's heel went so far into stipes body. The liver goes to the left side of the body it just gets smaller. So punches with boxing gloves won't be able to hit it from the left side. But that kick definitely made some contact with the liver. Also that's exactly where the spleen is. @15:38 - Tom never said Chael had that wrong. He only said that Chael was the only person who said it. It seems like the UFC changes their option so much. Historically, the interim title guarantees the belt holder of the #1 contender status. And the fight is between the champ and interim belt holder is promoted as a unification event. 2007: GSP won the interim title against Hughes and unified it in his next fight against then champion Serra. 2012: Carlos Condit won the interim title against Nick Diaz. Carlos’s next fight was against GSP to unify the belt. 2015: Conor McGregor won the interim belt against Chad Mendes. Conor’s next fight was against Aldo to unify. 2021: Ciryl Gane defeated Derrick Lewis to capture the interim title. Gane’s next fight was against Francis to unify the belt. Only those who paid attention to UFC history said Chael was wrong. If the UFC takes the interim belt away from Tom, what that indicates to me is that they don’t plan on unifying the belts in Tom’s next fight, meaning that Jon will not defend against Tom. They love to promote things as champion vs champion for upcoming fights. If they take Aspinall’s champion status away, it’s quite telling. I really don’t care what the rules are, but they should try to be consistent.
Giving Tom the belt isnt anywhere near the flex these two think it is. Ask most fans and they'll tell you it makes Jon look weak, ducking the only person in 14 years hes been an underdog against. His legacy will be forveer tarnished if he ducks Tom.

What’s the difference between being scared to fight someone because you will lose and being scared to fight someone? The only reason to be scared to fight someone is precisely because you are worried you might lose 😂argument goes in circles man
The fact there are fans who think Jon has a right to pick and choose his fights on a whim is insane. This is MMA, not boxing. The belts need to be unified, end of story, and there are only two ways to do that: either Jon defends the belt against Tom, or Jon vacates the belt so that Tom can defend it instead. They both earned their belts, and they have both defended their belts. It's time for the division to move forward, and the only way that happens is if there's movement at the top.

I’m afraid Jones will regret not retiring on top while he can, there's nothing to celebrate for Jones with that performance, the back-spinning kick was the only thing that was exciting in that fight, Jones sees the Stipe fight as a winnable fight and it played right as he believed it to be, his fanboys act as if Jones beat the best heavyweight but a no.8 ranked HW, a 42 yrs old Stipe, Jones did the right thing avoiding Tom, he’s too slow to face a guy like Tom who is younger, stronger, bigger, explosive, fast and well rounded with a good fight IQ as well, I don't blame Jones after seeing his speed and power at HW, he’s not the same anymore.
@@ZiraTBC It's true. He really had the right to retire a long time ago anyway. I mean the guy has been the GOAT without a doubt for at least 6 or 7 years. I don't know that he would lose, but Tom is too risky. Jon never fights at all and is getting older, just retire on top. Losing to Tom would not change anything. His haters would just criticize Jon even more if he lost, although Jon would still obviously be the GOAT by far. I hope he does it as a fan, but I don't see the logic.
@@billj4525 We all know Jones wants to erase that L off his record so badly and to risk another one doesn't make any sense, but I’d love to see the fight as a fight fan, let's hope it all plays out well.
Its really simple: 1 - Jones is defending 'disputed' champ, he has an interim champ who has already sat out and been forced to defend an interim belt. 2 - Dana has said its absolutely Aspinall next for the winner of Jones-Miocic, unless the winner retires. 3 - The UFC wants it, the vast majority of fans want it, most commentators want it. 4 - Jones saying pre- UFC 309 he wouldn't fight Aspinall - at all - is a joke. When he said that, Jones should immediately have been asked to leave the belt in the ring after the fight, or walk back his comments. And Aspinall SHOULD have been part of the promotion and SHOULD have been in the ring. Do the UFC not want to promote and hype it up?! or more likely Jones demanded it be an Aspinall blackout throughout fight week. 5 - Jones hinting post- UFC 309 that he might 'give the fans what they want' (code for let me fight Pereira which the fans don't want as much as Aspinall). So he MUST have a deadline to agree a deal with the UFC, i mean is 3 months even too much?! Let fans know what the final offer was that Jones priced himself out of - so we can all see him for the 🦆 he is. Lets be real Jones is just going to do the latter... drag it on and then claim the UFC wouldn't pay him fairly. Its a pathetic face-save that delays Aspinall's career even more. And we all see through it.
I'm sorry but im not a chael fan. He doesn't get his facts right. First he says it was a liver kick even though it wasn't then he's talking about Tom having 40 lb of muscle on john? Tom Weighed 254 and John weighed 238 come on...also pronounce peoples' names correctly dude.
I'm now in my sixties and fought all my life on and off, karate, boxing and wrestling. I done what I call free fighting, any style against any other style, looking for a submission or knock out, so have seen and been in many fights, throughout my life. Based on my experience, I'd put my house on a "fit" Tom Aspinall to beat Jon Jones. Jon Jones is running scared of Tom Aspinall, it's simple as that. We can debate why Jones won't fight Aspinall until they are both old and grey, but Aspinall is the real ultimate killing machine and nothing can stop him, if he's given the chance and Jones knows this! Basically Jones doesn't want to loose his crown, period!
Belt means nothing to Jones at this point and Tom means absolutely nothing to Jones, Jon has nothing to gain by fighting Tom....I'm glad the G.O.A.T. is calling his shots, it's about time the fighter puts the promoter in their place. On a side note it's interesting listening to 2 dudes who got their asses beat by Jon and hear their critique, good times.
Both of these guys are great at communicating. they know how to share their story, and their perspectives in life. both of these guys understand wrestling. they really understand fighting
what Aspinal dont know is that ..the Jones that fought stippe will not be the same Jones that will fight Aspinal..thats how jones is special...his IQ..
Maybe maybe not. Looking at this weekend's fight, Jones wasn't as sharp or quick as he used to be. Even in his prime, guys like Reyes and Gustafsson gave him his toughest fights - the right style could push him to the limit. His win over Miocic might look impressive, but Stipe was 42 and hadn't fought in years. Tom's the interim champ and #1 contender, so he deserves the next shot at the title. Age catches up with everyone, even the greats, and not looking after yourself between fights like Jones seems to be doing won't help with longevity.

He’s not afraid like normal people are afraid to fight. But he has remained undefeated his whole career and he doesnt want to lose at the very end. Jon Jones has nothing left to prove-his legacy as the greatest of all time is set in stone. For over a decade, he has dominated the sport, defeating legends and adapting to every challenge. At this stage, he’s earned the right to choose his battles. Facing a rising star like Tom Aspinall doesn’t enhance his legacy; even with a victory, critics would dismiss it. Jones has already accomplished what others can only dream of, and his career should be celebrated for the unparalleled greatness he’s displayed. Daniel Cormier made a strong argument: Jones isn’t avoiding Aspinall out of fear-it’s a calculated business decision. As the undisputed GOAT, Jones doesn’t need to prove himself against up-and-comers. Cormier even acknowledged Aspinall’s skills, cautioning fans not to underestimate him if the fight happens. Still, let’s be honest-Jones has solved every style and conquered the best of the best. While Aspinall is a rising talent, he hasn’t faced anyone remotely close to Jones’ level. If this fight happens, it will undoubtedly be massive, but it’s far from the mismatch some think it might be.
Tom lost to Stuart austin and cried like a baby because of knee injury in the Curtis fight . He’s just an average heavyweight with good ko power nothing else . Cyril gane will easily derail Tom , Tom has a weak knee … it can’t stay much with elite fighters like jones or dc .
That’s weird because Jon is ducking him and Gane was ducking him openly for a long time. He destroyed every other relevant fighter in this division. Good thing you’re more confident than them though
@@jackreacher2095If Gane was so easy to beat, why did Tom ducked him repeatedly like a chump? Tom must fight Gane before he fights Jones..
Did we all watch the whole fight. Jones easily has places Tom could exploit. Stipe had the slowest hands now and was still clipping him. Tom has real heavyweight power and is a lot quicker. Only thing jones has is fight time experience.
The thing most people don’t consider: If Jon Jones does beat Tom Aspinall, everyone would forget it even happened. Tom is not a big enough name, OR a proven enough fighter to deserve a chance with Jon. Furthermore, Jon already said pay him a fat check and he will take care of Tom….

Aspinall tried to go the route of a troll and Jones is going to troll him right back. You guys wasted your time, like an annoying little brother...
Just a reminder that DC was 38 when he fought Volkan, who seemed like a scary knockout artist at the time. (Not as hyped as Tom I know but it still stands) He was 37 when he lost to Jones the fight before too. Then went to Heavyweight where he fought until he was 42. But Jones is too old to fight Tom? Excuses. All Jon has to do is admit he thinks he wouldn't beat Tom, and vacate the belt. But instead he's lying and manipulating the situation. And his weird idol worshipping sycophant fanbase is eating it up. This isn't boxing where champions refuse to fight the number 1 contenders.
Fight negotiations can plausible be considered as the 'first contact of any match up. With that being the case, JJ's position puts him ahead on points, and perhaps in head, on points.

18 years?
Chael was still yapping absolute nonsense here. Tom is still the interim champ on the updated UFC rankings.
Giving Tom the belt isnt anywhere near the flex these two think it is. Ask most fans and they'll tell you it makes Jon look weak, ducking the only person in 14 years hes been an underdog against. His legacy will be forveer tarnished if he ducks Tom.
They would have to pay Jones an astronomical amount as I can't see him going two rounds against Aspinall. Jones is too smart to think that he can win.

One of the greatest fight breakdowns I've ever heard between these two highly experienced highly skilled professionals.
Exactly right. I was shocked when buffer announced Jon as undisputed champion, the one thing everyone can agree on is that it's a very disputed championship.
The championed defended the belt. That ship has sailed. Cope!

Amazing points made by both these two. Thanks for the content guys.
Jon looked really slow and was getting touched by stipe fighting underwater. Tommy would beat him
I’m afraid Jones will regret not retiring on top while he can, there's nothing to celebrate for Jones with that performance, the back-spinning kick was the only thing that was exciting in that fight, Jones sees the Stipe fight as a winnable fight and it played right as he believed it to be, his fanboys act as if Jones beat the best heavyweight but a no.8 ranked HW, a 42 yrs old Stipe, Jones did the right thing avoiding Tom, he’s too slow to face a guy like Tom who is younger, stronger, bigger, explosive, fast and well rounded with a good fight IQ as well, I don't blame Jones after seeing his speed and power at HW, he’s not the same anymore.
@@ZiraTBCcope
@@ZiraTBC It's true. He really had the right to retire a long time ago anyway. I mean the guy has been the GOAT without a doubt for at least 6 or 7 years. I don't know that he would lose, but Tom is too risky. Jon never fights at all and is getting older, just retire on top. Losing to Tom would not change anything. @@billj4525 We all know Jones wants to erase that L off his record so badly and to risk another one doesn't make any sense, but I’d love to see the fight as a fight fan, let's hope it all plays out well.
Yep. Aspinal beats Jones
Its really simple:
1 - Jones is defending 'disputed' champ, he has an interim champ who has already sat out and been forced to defend an interim belt.

No one would even know or care about Tom if it wasn’t for Jon. His greatest accomplishment is being 1-1 with Curtis Blaydes
We never seen so much fear in a fighter's fan base before 😂
😂
The ped cheat is a 🦆
5 of the top 10 heavyweights have been finished in round 1 by him, Jones has never done anything close to that, he’s a decision guy
Troll or complete noob to UFC? He finished all his opponents in rd 1, and top heavyweights at that. Nobody does that
Fight negotiations can plausible be considered as the 'first contact of any match up. With that being the case, JJ's position puts him ahead on points, and perhaps in head, on points.
WE WANT ALEX VS JON
Its not even a fair fight.... Alex doesnt grapple at all and would get slaughtered..Dana even knows this and said its not going to happen. Stop entertaining this nonsense dude.
Jon Jones vs Aspinall is what the majority of.ppl want
Literally nobody does.
YES WE DO
who is we? no one wants that
Why because Alex can just get taken down because how striking is superior?
Why not let Jones take Aspinall down since his striking is superior? Not to mention the size difference between Pereira and aspinall.
Jones has given 100 different excuses to try to rationalize Why he shouldn't have to fight Tom, but he should.
“If I waved at Elon I would refer to him as my buddy “ I’m dead 😂😅😂😂😂😂 💀
Elon is an idiot
Every single time Aspinall talks about fighting Jon, he mentions how he's younger and faster and more explosive. He also talks about Jon beings on the back end of his career. I see why Aspinall wants to fight the senior citizen lol
yeah because he wants the belt. hes already defended the interim what else is there for him to do other than fight for the belt now?
@@omniyoutubefacts, bro thought he was cooking
@@colinjones8265 Sergei is the 🐐 lmao 🤣
@omniyoutube that's true, but I didn't say anything that wasn't true. Dude thinks he can beat him because he's younger. BTW ASPINALL double down on the fact that Bones is slower now after watching the Stipe fight. He's said it multiple times. He thinks it's Sweet
Jones has the belt..
"Kid Rock is the poor man's Snoop Dogg" 😆🤣😂
You can all cry, all the spokeman of ufc can say its the biggest fight, jones isnt fighting tom. Only perera. And i love it
That's fine. Drop the belt and lets see aspinall fight some real contenders.
@TommyTipex The King does as he pleases, not what the subjects ask for. So cry. I hope he hold onto it for a year, then fights perera, then waits another year
For real... Most fans want the Pereira fight!
@@TommyTipex How many champions has Aspinall beaten⁉️ How many PPV has he headlined⁉️
@bplayerr1 tom fans are the same ppl who voted for Kamala. The LOUD but SMALL minority
Terrible. Tom was not stripped. You don't get stripped when the "champ" is too scared to fight you.
