Hello, just started watching your series. I haven't played this game in years but I am quite impressed by your knowledge of not only the game but of the D'ni lore. I loved these games and books and haven't entered these ages in such a long time and watching this takes me back :D Thanks for the nostalgia flashbacks! :D
I don't know if you know (you didn't mention it, so perhaps not) but Zandi is played by David Ogden Stiers of Mash fame, who also plays Esher in Myst V. He was apparently a fan of the Myst games, like Brad Dourif, who plays Saavedro in Myst III.
the schematics you saw on the wall actually look like rote copies of the illustrations from the Book of Atrus, most of which is Atrus's own work as he observed and recorded the world around him. I also have a feeling that the tray is also his collection of interesting rock and mineral samples, which he collected through most of his young life. Thank you for making this and all your other myst guides. the myst series was my first foray into gaming and its nice to see it still alive
Uru doesn't allow you to save explicitly. It saves automatically. Once you make it to Relto, the game will always start in Relto. The state of puzzles etc. is automatically saved, and you can save your location in the Ages using the journey cloths.
@Dilandau3000 ..... Thank you ! So it is ! I was worried that it will take too much of my time wandering around ... but now things are clear. All the best and A Happy New Year !
I know. In fact, I just assumed when I heard that recording that it was Zandi! But I guess it makes more sense if it is Watson? (I think it is identified as Watson in one of the journals?)
Hi, fantastic video quality on this walkthrough, just wondering if you are going to do the same thing with the whole series of myst games, if so, that will be something to look forward to, thanx for sharing, gazganoo
Thak you for the detailed presentation. But the game seems not to have " Save Game ". Each time I come back to the game, I have to start all over. Am I wrong ?
Personally, I didn't like Uru, mostly because of two things. 1: the ages felt very un-Myst-like to me. That could just be me, but I didn't get the feeling of walking around in a Myst age. Guess that's why they call it Ages Beyond Myst. 2: The revelation that the D'ni lived here on Earth killed the magic and mystery of the setting in my eyes. All in all, I like to think of Uru and Myst V as non-canon, with the last part of the real story being Myst IV. That's the only way for me to enjoy Uru.
you should really play this all with first person, to make it feel more like a myst game, instead of having a annoying veiwpoint and poorly modeled avatar...
in 2023 and i still hear your “welcome back” in my head sometimes randomly after watching for many years lol 😂
Blast from the past

I watched your other Myst let's plays over a year ago and now I have found you again. I missed your "Welcome back". It's almost nostalgic for me now.

And he did the voice of Dr. Watson in URU: To D'ni
RIP David Ogden Stiers
Yes, superb visual quality.

Not to mention Peter Gabriel, whose music is playing in the background. (And who appeared in Myst IV).
I didn't realize that it was David Ogden Stiers who was voicing Zandi...I thought the voice sounded familiar but couldn't quite place it.

The cleft was where Anna or Ti'ana grew up with her father before he died and she found the path down into D'ni.

LOL, Chucky is way after my time! I had to Google it to see what you were talking about!
It would be nice if this game had subtitles.
