Hi there everyone! In the original upload of this video I mistakenly state that the RP4 doesn't have hall sensor joysticks by default. The RP4 comes with hall sensor joysticks by default, so there's no need to worry about drifting!
Thank you, really confusing to replace hall sticks with hall sticks. But it seems that yours came with a faulty thumbstick? But you just happened to have ordered a replacement with the device? That amount of sixth sense is commendable.
it seems like hes trying so hard to save face after not doing enough research into the product. "Usually i buy extra everything" and "needing to change a faulty joystick" Yet he replaced both of the analog sticks and didnt change the buttons or dpad that he always buys extras of. This entire thing sounds like an elaborate lie to not look like a fool.@@z0h33y
Pretty interesting, since I was going to go for the odin 2, but it's freaking expensive. I'm considering this, though Anbernic has released teaser videos on the RG556. I'll wait until that releases, so that I can compare that and the retroid pocket 4 pro.
Great purchase :) unfortunately there is quite some waiting time atm but it’s worth the wait :) I’d get a Samsung EVO or PRO micro sd card. I always buy them.
This device reeked of terrible QC. Far worse than RP3. Messed up screens, ghosting, bad thermals, jet engine fan and triggers breaking. I don't care if Retroid sends replacement parts. Customers paid for a fully working device. They're not fuccing beta testers.
The device is okay, but a little late. The Powkiddy X28 for 120€ is better with 5,5 inch screen, Android, way more ergonomic. At least the same performance. All my PS2 games run smoothly. The worst thing about Retroid is always the terrible ergonomics. Unplayable with both sticks. And the screen is really small at under 5 inches for that high Pricepoint.
I have a steam deck already but wanted something that travelled better. How does the powkiddy do with fifa street 1 for the ps2?I see multiple people just test fifa street 2 on the retroid pocket 4 pro. But I want to play fifa street 1.
Do not buy this product! RETROID is having issues with green screen, broken triggers, and defective frame packaging. THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED HERE TO POTENTIAL PURCHASERS!
My RP4pro came and in 24 hours the R2 Trigger broke down just like many others. Now no response on when the replacements will arrive - even before Chinese new year. Very disappointing.
@@_paczki that is still terrible QC. Customers paid for a working device. Not obligated to fix it themselves. Specially those triggers! Stop sugar coating it to defend retroid.
ngl, the fact you arent testing switch games with both skyline and yuzu shows that you didnt put much effort into testing. metroid dread is actually much better than you show off when using skyline.
Why all review won't turn on widescreen patches or widescreen gecko codes. It's not representative since every daily user will do it, and extra image can slow down emulation.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I had read that it was hall sensor by default.

Thanks for clarifying that lol cause i was like "whoa wait the fact its hall effect was a massive selling point for me"
@@z0h33y Usually I buy everything extra (sticks, buttons, cases etc) as it's highly likely I'll showcase it in a video :)

Mine should be arriving today!! And by happenstance i have 4 days off after today. Cant wait.

Specs wise the Anbernic 556 will be closer to the base Retroid pocket 4. The 4 pro will still be far superior
I recommend the grips for the device as it takes a bit of the stress on your hands away.
Yeah, I've seen some interesting designs. Will definitely give it a try.
Nice review! :)
Thank you! :)
Hmm i thought the device already came installed with Hall effect joysticks?
Yeah sorry for the confusion. It does and I’ve addressed it in a comment already.
finally someone that try external monitor thanks ! can you use it with in extended mode in order to get the native resolution of the monitor 1080p ?
Thank you for bringing up the 'left-stick below the D-pad' issue.
I'm hoping for a revision with it above, where it should have been.
Yeah I agree. If a handheld is powerful enough for PS2 and Gamecube, the stick should be above the dpad.
NoOOOooO Personally, I prefer it to be as it is 😔
I just bough a retroid 4 pro and wanted to know how much time it takes to arrive or to be shipped and what sd card you recommend
Great purchase :) unfortunately there is quite some waiting time atm but it’s worth the wait :) I’d get a Samsung EVO or PRO micro sd card. I always buy them.
battery is too weak, knowing but seeing it drain quick on ps2 was lowkey disappointing. Battery capacity is the only problem, the crucial part.
Retro tech dad says RP2S buttons fit
hello, please, can you test pokemon lets go pikachu on yuzu 1x resolution at high performance mode? it can do 30fps?
I’ll test it in an upcoming showcase video!
Only answer is a stolen steam deck

@@m.israel2209 I've never played it. But I can download and test it tomorrow.
How can it be at least the same performance if it has the processor of Retroid pocket 3+?
@@andreaskozis Better optimzed software. I don't know Retroid pocket 3+. I don't use unergonomic handhelds with such a small screen.

They already addressed all these issues, they sent a user on Reddit back plate of RP4 Pro with new triggers preinstalled.

Thanks for the info I was going to buy one...u think rp2s is good
Mine is fine. Works great. 👍

Thanks for commenting! That will be addressed in an upcoming gaming showcase.
If you're buying this device for switch emulation, you're weird. A switch lite is cheaper than this handheld.

Good point, I’ll save that for a more in-depth gaming showcase!
