      +Logan Kelly It sounds like they have the pump stations going so this should all get drained down pretty quick I hope. The tornado they were just showing on the world news in Prairieville Louisiana where over 50 travel trailers were turned over is only a mile from here. We could hear the sirens going as the first responders went to help.

    One thing about living in Louisiana every time during the winter months when it rains it pours and when cold fronts or major low pressure fronts come through this area we watch for tornados where you guys in Minnesota watch for heavy snowfall. To be honest, I think I would rather the snowfall as opposed to the heavy rains we have here in Louisiana. This morning it was raining so hard and fast the water was coming into my garage so fast that I couldn't keep up with brushing it back out. Didn't take the time to get photos as it was more important to move items that I didn't want to get wet and brushing the water back out.

    BE CAREFUL JOE!!! Water and electricity don't mix!!! We had some high winds yesterday and broke one of my trees in the back yard here in WV. Had to get the ole chainsaw out and cut it up.

    Stay safe, Joe. We sweated it out here in south Alabama last night too. We were fortunate, but I feel for the folks in Pensacola. Never a good thing comes from those twisters.

    Oh man, poor chickens. At least they have a dry place to jump up to! That took some forethought so good on you.
    Videos like this me wonder about the future in warm lowlands though. I'm a northerner, born and bread in northwestern Wisconsin; we get our fair share of rain and some flooding, but nothing like that... nothing that super quick. Hope you keep a toe in both worlds, Joe! North and South.

    Hey Mr Joe! So sorry to hear about your birds. That happened to me during hurricane Isaac a few years back. I have a 10x10 pen on dry ground that's empty if you need to evacuate your birds until the water recedes. Also an 8x8 pigeon loft that you could keep your quail in. Just let me know if there's anyway I could help.

    Wow that is unreal! Weather is amazing and scary at the same time. Bummer that some chickens didn't make it. Hopefully no permanent damage was done? Looking forward to a after video when the water subsides. Thanks a lot for the video!

    Hi Joe. That's a tough spot you are in but I'm sure whatever could be done to minimize, you probably did. I'm over near where last week tornadoes ripped through Baldwin County, Alabama and on the extreme western Florida panhandle. Just last night there were more tornadoes south of us that blasted Pensacola, Fl and further east on the panhandle. One has to be very careful when dealing with tornadoes and flash flooding, more so than with hurricanes. At least with a 'Cane, you know several days in advance it's coming. Sorry about the chickens but better a few chickens than you and Melissa.

    I guess thats why they build everything on stilts down there. We are suppose to get a foot of snow tomorrow and i think i will take that over 8 inches of rain. Lets hope it doesn't rise to much more.

    Joe, where in Louisiana are you ? I have a friend that lives near Denham Springs/Livingston area and since the storm a few days ago I have not been able to contact her.

    • @NorthernSeclusion
      @NorthernSeclusion  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nortekj Thats about an hour north of here, they got hit pretty good up in that area too. I have not heard of any serious injuries from that area on the news though. That storm went from LaPlace and then across lake Pontchartrain and then back on land. Denham is up in that area but I do not know if the storm went right through there. Power was out for several days in some areas. Thank you. Joe

    Oh God. Need stilts. Lol thats pretty crazy. Is there sand there or clay? Does the water drain pretty fast after it stops raining? Ee flood pretty bad i. North fl but it goes away pretty fast. We are sandy loam soils.
