I attended a Mennonite church a few years ago. I have never seen such a content group of people who genuinely practice what they preach. They did not judge me for my past nor pressure me to join. I still have friend's from that church and I believe God placed them in my life when I needed them most. I cannot speak for all groups but in this case they acted only as true Christians and inspired me to live better.
+C Louise Oh yes, I agree. When I was widowed they were a great help in my grief, my worship, and just about everything. I go back to their church every chance I get.

"Inside Mennonite jokes"?! I found myself laughing my head off at this because it's so like OTHER denominations, too! ;-) "I don't mean to gossip, but....." has to be the most inexcusable (and common!) misbehavior out there. I cringed...I laughed....I asked God to forgive me. And I've never heard "How Firm A Foundation" used in QUITE that way before....or baking! Really funny, guys--you goosed my funny bone AND my conscience. More!
😂😂😂I'm a holdeman mennonite so a little different than this group but this is hilariously accurate😂😂only thing wrong is that the Dutch blitz is a little slow... for us it normally involves practically jumping over tables and a lot of yelling lol😂😂😂
I've been away from the Mennonites (but not the plain people) for a little over twenty years, and this was certainly not the way we talked ("Dude" was not a part of our vocabulary). There were some things that might simply be different because I was a Western Mennonite instead of Eastern. Or maybe they've changed that much in that time? Dutch Blitz and Rook, as well as volley ball and softball were definitely the games of the day, and being related to everyone, if distant, is likely. :)
Definitely Old Mennonite, of Pennsylvania origin. Reminded me of half of my son's mod mates at Hesston. Back here in Kansas we Mennos would be discussing the Verenike, Borscht, and Zweibach, but I do miss me some good Scrapple.
They mentioned the name Stolzfus, so probably they're talking about Swiss "Pennsylvania Dutch" Mennonites, not Plautdietsch speaking ones. Also, nice to see you here!
This was TOO funny!! Haha 😂😂😂 this is such a different view from what I’m accustomed too, idk why I just thought that mennonites were a little extreme haha and a little too serious but hey why not go all out for the lord and be serious for the lord? This was a hilarious video!!
You're funny. I knew a girl in grad school who was Mennonite. She wrote a bestselling book about it--Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. I wonder what another Mennonite would think of it?
Seriously? Not all mennonites are like this. You should consider the impression your leaving with those around! We are supposed to be ambassadors for the kingdom of God.
If you mean some Mennonites are pharisaicle and hold to a piety that of proudness so as to gain favor in merit with God and man then your right. Me and my Mennonite friends understand that Jesus was humble and associated with tax gatherers and sinners we hold to a devotion to the life and following of Jesus not legalistic piety. If you study anabaptist history, thats not what its about.
+be faithful...I'm brethren..not Mennonite...but the Mennonites I know don't act that way! ok so maybe the way they call hymns but...I agree...we should be always concerned with being Christlike! I don't think we should worry about the impression we make on ppl...because if we are focused on jesus..ppl can tell without us having anything to do with it!:) whew that was long- winded!
"She's got some serious virtues" HAHA

Oh my goodness, I grew up in a very conservative Mennonite school and this is so accurate to the things the high schoolers said.
"You catch the name of that girl from the hymn singing??" Awesome!

Borscht sounds really good right now
Siobahn McGeechan I use my mom's recipe she is russian mennonite

I sometimes miss my life in Halstead, KS and I definitelw miss verenike, bierocks and borscht. Yum
Siobahn McGeechan yes it is, in the winter when mom makes it. I always put some in zip lock bags and freeze it so I can have it for a couple months.
I'm not Mennonite but I'm smiling.
Dutch Blitz! wow some of this stuff us Baptist do lol :)
Right on. Reminds me of my youth group.
Ha ha. That's pretty funny! Fairly accurate of some the stuff to. :)
I can't relate to all of these but the ones I do... SO ACCURATE 😂
They mentioned the name Stolzfus, so probably they're talking about Swiss "Pennsylvania Dutch" Mennonites, not Plautdietsch speaking ones. Also, nice to see you here!
this is awesome lol. love spending times with my Mennonite friends.
If you don't like it, leave it. This looks trashy to me and I have to questions the heart motives of even making this let alone posting it.
I think it’s ridiculous
"She's... got some virtues." Ha! Very cute.
hahaha!! this is dead on! "did you taste her baking?? teeeerble good!" (the popular speech here)
This was TOO funny!!

You boys said "Crap" and "screwed'? On video? Shame.
Deeply offensive.

@@steve767300 wrong, you just said the opposite of what Mennonites believe and are like. Don't judge lest ye be judged!
Someday you guys should choose to follow the Bible and not Menno Simons
Lighten up, Francis
