WE'RE BACK! Wildcard Playoffs vs Seahawks - Madden 24 Saints Franchise (Year 5) - Ep.91
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 8 ก.ค. 2024
- It's Year 5 of the Madden 24 Saints Franchise. We've made the tough decision to add a new QB after the Sophomore Slump for Blake Westbrook kept us from reaching our ceiling as a team. We are depending on Mac Jones to be the final piece that gets us back to the playoffs after 3 difficult rebuilding years.
My Franchise on Madden 24 begins with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints offer a unique challenge compared to any other team looking at their future cap space problems and aging roster. The Saints are not a bad team in 2023 at all. But their future could not be anymore problematic as cap restraints will cause them to move on from players, including some of their aging veterans they still rely on.
I aim for a more sim feel to my Franchises. I play on All Madden sliders that promote a more realistic play style. I have developed my own XP sliders to create a more authentic feel to Franchise in terms of developing young players and replacing regressing veterans.
This will be my biggest Madden 24 series, and I'm excited to get the rebuild underway. - เกม
If you're enjoying it, keep going Hurricane. Success shouldn't be determined by the end result but rather the journey itself. If you're excited to to still create with this series, we'll be here to tune in.
Perfectly said
Thank you!
@@frankschipani well said ik the comment section agrees 100%
Agreed. Maybe you should consider playing on All-Pro?
Just look at the Titans franchise, that serious had little ups and boat load of downs but he kept going and eventually won a superbowl. Like you said, it's the journey not the end results.
I wouldn't be mad if this series didn't end successfully. Just makes the series that do feel more special as opposed to being the expected outcome
Pretty sure his Chicago franchise didn't result in a superbowl win either. Don't think he even made it in that franchise. So it definitely would not be the first time, but it'll be in a rare company
@irishdude7524 The Madden 18 Bears didn't reach the playoffs until the fourth and final season: after going 12-4 that year, they won their Divisional Round debut against a 9-5-2, Davis Webb-led Giants team after OBJ got the game-tying TD rocked out of his hands, then lost the NFC Championship to the Atlanta Falcons by two touchdowns, ending the series. As a Bears fan myself, I remember being considerably indignant that it was them of all teams who finally broke Cane's perfect record. :P
TL:DR, free agency had several massive misses (mostly infamously, Amari Cooper rejected a massive offer Cane threw at him, instead taking significantly less money to go play for, of all teams, HUE JACKSON'S BROWNS), the drafts were spotty (LT Frederick Chickillo was the only player from the Year 1 class with anything close to staying power, and even the later on-paper hits like DE Bram Dearth and DT Dante Rooks were maddeningly inconsistent), Trubisky never put it all together and his last-minute replacement Clay Steitz wasn't enough of an upgrade at QB to move the needle… Man, this got really rambly for a quick 'n' dirty postmortem, but hopefully you get the just. :)
(You could also count the Madden 19 Dolphins as a team that "never made it", but given that that series was cancelled halfway into its first season, you can't really put it on the same level IMO.)
@@nicholasbuffone175 holy crap i remember Amari rejecting him 🤣. And it's ok man. You brought back a lot of nostalgia watching Cane's early madden videos.
Please keep going. I know the next Madden is soon but one more year feels so needed. The questions at QB, the up and coming young defenders, maybe we are finally close.
When you have 3 QB’s, you have none.
Especially when one of them is Mac Jones
@@zackhurwitz9441 When you have three QBs, they're basically all Mac Jones.
I dig the idea of running it til '25 drops and calling it a day. If they win, they win, if not, it's still a fun watch
I think this series has really been the culmination of all your experience Cane. Seriously, out of any series on your channel, this franchise has felt the most realistic experience. Really, nearly every move you’ve made and how you’ve gone about storytelling in this franchise has truly felt like something I’ve seen in the NFL, which is something only you have ever been able to achieve on TH-cam in my opinion.
Would love to see you continue with this team, through all the good and the bad.
Gotta love how the CPU saw how Roby was gashing, gouging and goring the D and suddenly decided he would be injured. That's when I knew Cane was doomed.
“Annnnnd Waters……CLOGGED!” An all time call by Hurricane
@@JeffCatt886 even the kenneth walker the 3rd 3rd TD call was epic he’s locked into his craft it’s beautiful to see
Spoiler Alert!
This is exactly what I would expect to happen to a team starting Mac Jones in a playoff game
Giving up 38 points? He doesn't play on D you know. Worstbrook would've thrown two pick sixes and lost by at least 30.
Damn, this seemed like such a winnable game. I too have enjoyed seeing the team struggle a bit more with this year's franchise. I know the Titans were kinda similar last year, and I like that it is more of a grind
Cane wins if the CPU doesn't randomly decide Roby gets hurt. I'm convinced of it. It would've been like the Eagles game where he does enough on offense to stay within striking distance and steals it at the end.
Spoiler blocker
Danny Skelton is criminally underused. Really need to get him involved with his speed
YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DO THE NEW MADDEN!!! Even if it’s just one of your series styles and not both
Bro, this has been the most realistic rebuild series I’ve ever watched. Not every one can be a success like you said. I’ve enjoyed every episode. Looking forward to the next season. Hope you decide to do a Madden rebuild for 25.
When I saw the Seahawks had four players with 800-plus yards receiving which would've been more than any team in a season IRL, I knew it would be trouble 😟
The struggle is refreshing cane. I agree. The storytelling and the team building is truly some of the most interesting and best out there. I love this series and will be eagerly awaiting the off-season.
All that matters is that you’re having fun cane! Been watching you since madden 12 franchise. I hope you do franchise in madden 25 I look up to how you manage your team in franchise and it wouldn’t feel right if you didn’t do franchise for madden 25. No matter what you decide I’ll always support!!
who knew deciding to sign Wilson over Lawrence in FA would be a decision we’d regret years later 😭😭
@@Dave00xx omg 😭
I’d keep going with this series. Not every rebuild is successful, and that’s okay. It still has me rooting for the Saints as if they were my favorite team
Yeah I 100% agree, it has been very engaging
So glad it’s not over
I just found out the hold L1 to user a defender is fixed. They'll actually cover their assignment now. So Cane could go back to using a safety like the old days.
Cane usering Peppers incoming lol
it's not entirely fixed if you have a safety playing a deep zone he will just randomly start running towards a receiver
The reason we all like ur videos is because of the realism
That's what makes it more fun and realistic. Success is not guaranteed even in real life. For most of us who watch, it's the journey that inspires us to start our own franchises to go through the ups and downs.
If every franchise started with a Super Bowl win, no one would watch.
Great series sir, cant wait to see the future content. Thank you
I'm glad you're having fun making this series because I sure am having fun watching it. This is probably my favorite series of yours to date and is definitely the most realistic.
Keep the series going at least 1 more year. We all know NCAA25 and Madden 25 are around the corner. Go out in a blaze of glory and follow the path the Rams took a few years ago. Go all in, make the big trade or move to see if you can get the team over the hump. No matter what though, we will definitely be watching!! Love your series Cane!!!
Great Series Been Watching You Forever And This Was One Of The Best Ones, True Controversy In A Organization, Everybody Not Pose To Win
If you're finding it really fun to play the games, why don't you keep playing them, but in a way where the videos require perhaps less effort? You could play the games on your own, and just commentate over the highlights. You could do a season in like 2 episodes. Me personally, I've had a harder time keeping up with this series because the progress feels so stagnant. I'm not super concerned with success, but it feels like the team is very far from competing. It would be nice to see the team at least setup for a successful future before a long term sim. I don't know how challenging this would be, but if you like playing the games maybe you could find a way to play them but have the videos take less time so you can still focus on CFB 25?
That's along the lines of what I'm thinking about. The two game episodes I've been doing at times are enjoyable. I'm sure I could do something similar for a larger chunk of the season and prioritize storytelling.
Definitely glad to see one more season. I don't expect a Super Bowl every series, but it'd kinda hurt to end it without a playoff win. Love your channel.
I appreciate everything you said at the end of the episode! Also I think if you did get into madden 25 I would only do the franchise side and maybe post like 2/3 games in on episode so that most of your time can be focused on ncaa. Just my thoughts
Cane if you want to end this series it’s a fine decision. The team does still feel like it’s no closer to playoff success than it was at the beginning of the franchise, it’s not like one more season is going to suddenly bring a Super Bowl. As you’ve said, maybe an expedited season is a nice middle ground.
I say keep it going for one more year, win or lose, We know NCAA25 and Madden 25 are coming and I can't wait to see those videos and stories that you will tell. I definitely think though that one more year. Blackwell and the squad need an ending even if you do something like what you just did with the Raiders Finale.
Love everything that you do, I don't need to see you win or create Dynasties, I love your stories and the outright storytelling that you are able to create. No matter where you go or what you do, I am here for it.
Thank you for everything you do.
Ahh a classic Saints playoff run 😂😢
love the content gang
This franchise has been incredibly satisfying with all the highs and lows not every franchise can be successful but I love watching you have fun keep it up cane
I have really liked this series. It is the series like this (and my favourite, the Rockies franchise in the Show) that make the more successful ones more impactful.
I like you struggling. Not for vindictive reasons, but it's nice to see that these series don't have Superbowl trophies as the foregone conclusion.
keep going!!
You should absolutely continue this series. Even if you speed it up, we will be here. And you absolutely HAVE to do the new Madden. There’s plenty of teams in chaos. lol Steelers would be interesting. Instability at QB. Aging defense. Contract questions. Plus I’m a fan 😂
As a falcons fan this series is hard to watch 😂 I wanna see something
Nah this is fine lol
Don't quit the series Cane...I was surprised you got the team to the playoffs and though it's not my favorite franchise I'm curious how another season will look like....And please no more Mac Jones😂😂😂
I think this offensive scheme needs a revamp. It feels very sluggish and out dated. The under center game doesn’t work well with the poor o-line, an rpo/shotgun quick game would add value to the speed at wr and power of Roby.
I think what derailed the season was Mac Jones. The team is significantly less explosive with Mac, and he hasn’t been the upgrade we all expected in terms of the short yardage distributor scenarios.
Westbrook has the arm strength, work ethic/dev trait, and overall potential to warrant him having every opportunity to steal back the starting job. It’s super risky to bank on Westbrook bouncing back, but Mac Jones isn’t bringing a Super Bowl to any franchise. You don’t win Lombardis without taking those high stakes chances, and Westbrook is the kind of prospect you don’t give up on until that contract fully runs out.
I honestly have really enjoyed this series and I'm more interested in the story you build than the gameplay of Madden. Its refreshing to know that success or superbowls aren't guaranteed in a way, definitely keeps me interested for longer. I don't watch any other madden content as it just isn't entertaining for me, unrealistic trades, no consequences for giving up future draft capital as the series will be over when it matters, taking advantage of bad cpu logic instead of trying to balance the terrible madden decisions etc etc All that gets old quick. Also I don't think you are as "bad" of a player as some of this community makes out, because damn some people here are harsh. Everything just feels more organic here, draft busts can happen, loss streaks can happen, playcalling moments of madness can happen, but it all happens, it isnt erased or redone or kept out of the videos and it all adds up to a great storyline of a troubled team for me. And as long as YOU are still enjoying it, then keep it up and end it whenever you feel like its the right time.
Agree 100%
I still hold to the belief that the RIGHT QB for this team is NOT on the team, the QB play is just too inconsistent. HOWEVER, PLEASE CONTINUE THIS SERIES!!
Maybe you should it like one of the UTSA seasons where you play out the last season before putting out videos for it and edit it down to 4 or 5 videos instead. Not every series has had a story book finish and it doesn't look like this one will either. Sliders, the Saints real life cap situation, drafting too many normal dev players, and not finding that franchise QB were some of the reasons why this Saints team wasn't successful.
Would love to see 1 more year! Go for the title
You need one more year!
FINALLY 🎉 SAINTS POST SZN
Finally, you are first! 🤘🤘🤘
Plz keep the saints franchise going!
The blame every failure of this team on the Jaun beard pick
Almost every single one of Cane's 1st-round picks in the Titans series went on to the Hall of Fame… so naturally, his first whiff in the next franchise breaks the entire dang thing over its knee to balance things out. :P
(Admittedly, I was one of the last to turn on Beard, but still, that generational guard who went to the Bears keeps looking more and more like the mother of all missed opportunities. If he's in NOLA, either he helps ensure Westbrook's that much more comfortable in the pocket, or his performance ruins the Year 3 tank just enough that we're forced to "settle" for Hunter Boone in the first place.)
Is that wrong? Are people who feel that way incorrect? The first two drafts set the tone for the entire series, actually. Way too many picks Cane ended up getting rid of before their rookie deals were even over because they were flat out busts.
Juan Beard is still streets ahead of Adam Cain.
@@DolFan316like that 5th round QB! Whats his name again?
I want justice for Blackwell any way you can bring it about. That guy deserves a career if nothing else.
Minus the TD he played every bit as well as the stud Seahawks TE.
Feels like watching the Minnesota Miracle every episode lol
I think you should do a final recap video and end the series, hit CFB hard until madden 25 drops. Either way I’m tuned in.
The play calling is astounding in this game lol
Definitely think some series ending without winning it all is a really good thing.
I would consider trading Garrett Wilson, really hasn’t been performing at the level his talent/contract would suggest and I feel like concentrating passing game around Olave/Blackwell/Pearman makes more sense. Obviously Wilson is nice insurance on paper if one of them goes down, but we saw what happened today, he didn’t make a difference. If you could package him and potentially acquire a big time QB or shore up the o line I think that would really help the team.
I'm...oddly comfortable with that.
He didn't make a difference, but he had THREE plays where Mac Jones missed him as bad as Blake Westbrook did all season, two of which are TDs if the throws are on the money.
Seems to me like he's being held hostage by a bad QB room.
Go Hawks 💙💚
This one needs to be a lesson for future approaches. Held onto the old guard too long, never took advantage of breakout opportunities, gave up on Westbrook way too soon, no investment in the o-line...
Easy to see how this one failed - though realistic as heck!
He was absolutely right to give up on Westbrook, and it's right in line with many NFL teams IRL giving up on draft picks after a season or two these days. Why keep sticking with a player you know is bad just because he's in year 2 or 3 of a rookie deal? Four of the five QBs taken in the first round three years ago have already been dumped by the teams who drafted them. Would you call that a mistake too? If anything you can make a legit argument that the Jets, Pats and Bears held onto their first round QBs too LONG.
As far as holding onto the old guard too long, how many players are currently on the team who Cane started the series with? He was dumping the "old guard" left and right as soon at it was finanacially feasable to do so. If you;re talking about Kamara, Cane actually cut him before re-signing him for one season at a far cheaper price.
@DolFan316 Hey, if you wanna believe that Mac Jones' ceiling is anything near what Westbrook could be, more power to you! He built a team full of mid-80s level talent all on the edge of regression, but I'm sure that will magically turn around somehow, right?? Lol. Westbrook didn't even get 2 full seasons, but yeah, Jones was the right move! Keep flying that flag, man!
@@kevinpena5457 The results are all the proof I need. But I do appreciate you giving me permission to have my opinion 😊
Next year Cane should use the Cowboys since he never fails to let me down
This franchise has been so fun to watch! It's different to see one of your franchises go 90+ episodes with such little success, but if anything that makes it feel authentic to the NFL! As a Lions fan, I am no stranger to year after year of heartbreak just to finally make it to the playoffs and lose in the first round. I love the team when we are winning, but I loved them just as much then when we were basement dwellers. The same can be said for your Saints Franchise!
The struggle to get over the hump will make it that much sweeter to see these players finally win, whether that be next season, or in the long term sim, it will be great.
My team hasn't won a playoff game in 24 years so this series is definitely relatable to me.
Let me play for you & you can do the voiceover Cane lol.
KEEP GOING CANE PLEASE
I hope maddens AI improves lol, Kenneth Walker had 100+ first half with a lead & they were coming out empty backfield, excited for college football
Cane is really making me frustrated with the lack of contention to stay in the playoff race and playoff competition in this series
James Houston gets a sack in the second half and then barely plays for the remainder of the game. Did I miss an injury?
You could do a season of play the moments. Games are pretty quick and can knock out a bunch real quick.
Ohh I like that idea!
Man some of these saints are gonna wanna leave in FA😂
Just bring exciting players in the offseason
Any plans for a video reviewing the gameplay from NCAA?
regardless of if you continue with this series or not. I still need a madden 25 franchise mode
I blame ownership not Mac
Mac Jones is not him. We need to figure out the QB. I think the team is just a QB away.
As to how you do the next season. 3-4 game highlights per episode is the go for me.
I say we finally do another live offseason that we go all in on and do 1 more season.
Sell out for a veteran QB like Brady.
You cant end with olive and Roby injured. Nah.
I would like one more live offseason this weekend, no real reason for it not to happen.
You need to get a qb. If there is a legit prospect u have to go for it
I think Garrett Wilson should be the #1 option next season
Kalispell coming to CF25?
@@crimlomotty2907 I think he said he wants to do an entirely new team but I could be wrong
He said he would remake the team for the community to use but will pick a new team for the main dynasty.
@@chasepeeks3793 boom. That was it lol
In last episode's comments, someone compared this Saints team to the 2020 Chicago Bears and their mediocre QB battle between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. In that same spirit…
1 Like = 1 NVP vote for Blake Westbrook!!!
(Yes, I'm aware Mac's starting, but the original NVP votes weren't for Foles. The analogy's ever-so-slightly stronger this way. :P)
What does NVP mean? Not Valuable Player? Never Valued Player? I don't get it.
@DolFan316 The Bears' wild card loss to the Saints that year was simulcast on Nickelodeon. They let the kids at home vote for the game's NVP - “Nickelodeon's Valuable Player" - and the internet decided to stuff the ballot so Trubisky would win despite only going for 199 yards and a lone TD. Cue a bunch of jokes about how he's the greatest QB of all time because "Not even Brady's won an NVP!!!"
(And yes, there was an actual, physical trophy that Nickelodeon gave him.)
@@nicholasbuffone175 Wow...that's really hilarious and sad at the same time. Thanks for explaining it though, these days when I ask what something means there's about an 80 percent chance I'll be called stupid.
I'm so tired of CPU giving up on the running game for no reason. The Seahawks' running plays disappeared after the 71-yard rushing TD by Walker.
Super Bowl run starts now 🎉
I love this franchise but i was rooting for Seattle to take that one i want the team to succeed just not at the expense of my real life favorite team
Obviously, we’re all excited for the content that CFB25 will generate and that should definitely be a priority in the coming weeks.
At the same time, it feels like this franchsie has hit its ceiling and simultaneously there’s stories yet to be told. I’d say find the right spot to end it, don’t know if it’s now.
JUSTICE FOR MAYWEATHER
I wonder if it'd be better to hold off on Madden 25 and just continue with the Saints, especially with CF25
I did not like when he took a year off from the show. Watching the old version of the game is lame
nah this was not good the last time and surely wouldn't be good again
@@brycenhenry9905 Watching the newest version of a game that everybody realizes is worse than ever is much lamer.

Are you controlling any of the players or is it all in coach mode?
This just in! Get your paper! Read all about it! Read all about the Saints new circus act star Mac Dumbo!
I am glad things played out the way they did. To give up on a superstar qb for a dumbo qb this is exactly what needed to happen imo. Love your channel cain but adding mac jones to start was the worst move in your channel. You needed to develop your young qb with hopes he would be ready for a game like this. Truly a saints move right there.
The next regular season should be 2 episodes at most
Add a wildcat formation with Barry Skelton, Pearman and the backs
I’d love for you to trade your way to a better QB situation while simming more and playing fractions of games instead…until you make a SB run
Go golden gophers! If you don’t team builder a school in Minnesota might be good their dying success in anything
Jaun Beard needs to start to see what you got
White isn’t a change of pace back.
You don’t have to win a Super Bowl. It’s about narratives. That’s why I watch lol.
Even though we made the playoffs, I think the entire coaching staff needs a change. This team has underachieved way too much based on the talent it has. It's time for some kind of shakeup
I just finished binge watch Kalispell series in preparation for CF25. All I have to say is, Justin Colbert was done entirely wrong!
Good god. Just looking at Madden Graphics is so bad I can’t wait for college football 25
Fire Tim Cannon
Cane.. man i love your videos but you hurt yourself so much looking for skillsets vs raw athleticism. Barry Skelton should be a gigantic star but under utilizing him for roby and white is just insane..
If it was a sure thing that you are going to win a superbowl every single series then that would make the series kinda pointless... of course that should be the goal. But if the channel is going for "realistic" then winning the super bowl shouldn't ALWAYS happen. Its about the story of the players that you tell cane and trust me you put these series together better than anyone on the platform. .... please dont change or stop the way you play and put these videos together!
Kenneth dogwalked you
This team is an great QB away from being great
What a predictable game. Oof
