32GB RAM is certainly handy for content creation and multitasking. A 2021 desktop PC would benefit with 64GB.

As a x380 yoga user, it's nice to see the improvement on the trackpad design and physical shutter on camera. But I wouldn't change my laptop just for them. Whenever lenovo launches a thinkpad yoga with a 16:10 or 3:2 ratio display with higher resolution, as well as front facing speaker, they'll have my money$$$$$!(but probably not more than 2000 bucks)

Sangjun Park Higher and taller screen aspect ratio and greater resolution would be very nice indeed. Microsoft Surface has been doing this for years.

What's the difference between the new x390 to the x380? More ram? It's 99% the same so why releasing it?? It even hasn't been a year yet, since the 380's release... Weird move. Oh well, at least the x380's price (which, again, is basically identical) are expected to drop now.

They are releasing it because 10th Gen Intel CPU are quicker then expected to ship, rumors say June 2019 so that have to release something with 9th Gen chips before.
The real question is: why the f are they trying to make this laptops so damn thin, if somebody wants a thin and light professional laptop that buy x1 carbon, the other models should have a lot more dissipation. And outperform everything in the market and be upgradable...I much prefer Lenovo from 2012 with t430, x1 carbon 1st gen etc..

Want a Thinkpad Yoga, but not sure if I should go with the L390 Yoga or plop down the extra cash on the X390 :/ As far as I know at least one of the USB-C ports on the X390 supports Thunderbolt 3, so can theoretically use an EGPU for some more than light gaming and making the lack of an internal deticated GPU option moot, where the L390 does not. Ah, dilemmas!

    • @Moonbearchop
      @Moonbearchop 5 ปีที่แล้ว

If you play game with high resolution external monitor, then you better get X390. Or you can get x380, which also supports TB3, and save some money. I got a refurbished x380 yoga last year, and never regretted the decision.

This follows the ThinkPad naming scheme established in 2010
Letter - Series - X - Thin and light but not as thin as the X1 Carbon
      First number - Screen size - 3 - 13.3 inches
      Second number - Generation - 9 - 9th generation in the series
Third number - Revision - 0 - Original release, no hardware revisions / updates

Don't get Lenovo Thinkpad's. The laptop is alright but the warranty is
useless. I've waited for over a month to get mine fixed. Tickets get
opened and closed without the problem being fixed. The engineer has come
out twice without the right parts. I call them up and they tell me
someone will arrive to fix it by a certain date. The date arrives and
nobody turns up. I had to waste a day to go to the head office to get
the spare laptop. If it weren't for this being a company laptop under
warranty, I could have taken it down to a dozen nearby computer repair
shops and got it fixed within several days.
