The common misconception about Yoruba Religion is that there are many gods - this is not the case. Olorun, Olodumare, Olofin is revered as the one and only Supreme Being, & the Orisa are pretty much regarded as Saints or the Chosen (Eni ti Ori ti ṣà).
The renowned Yoruba philosopher, late Prof Sophie Oluwole explains this beautifully…

I came across this great Music Art in 1985 on the NTA stations (Ibadan and Ilorin) those memorable days, in fact l used to play the horns lines with some group of young musicians way back then which has tremendously enhance our musicianship in all ramifications of artistic developments. Thanks and bless you Baba OJ, you're ever celebrated always, our Maestro and Mentor.

This song is awesome. I remember watching this on NTA Ilorin. Thank you for uploading it.
I am a keen lover of traditions and culture, it sucks to see the younger generation, have very little understanding of it, but instead embrace alien religion.

The song and video was definately not recorded in 1987. It should be around 1983-1984. I can see the Lijadu sisters in the video. Can you see them too? This is a lovely song.

The 1987 citation at the end of the video is incorrect. Even the first major remake of the song, as well as of many other OJ songs on youtube, was in 1984 or '85. the same footage posted on youtube here was what ruled television airwaves in western Nigeria at the time. It is commendable that the different video tracks have been salvaged with minimal damage to quality, a very rare thing with archival material in Nigerian music. But they were not made in 1987, please.

You are very correct, the appearance of the Lijadu sisters in the video confirmed that this video was not made in 1987. The two sisters were already in London by then
