It's a maze system of caves, corridors and entrances. Izutsumi wanted to go back to base, so she entered the closest entrance and tried to navigate via smell. I don't think there's anything more. I think a couple episodes ago they commented on the dungeon climate change. It's probably the Mad Sorcerer rearranging stuff (like the city changing) and shifting dungeon biomes.
The number of nipples on a mammal is correlated with litter size. Humans (or rather, all primates) only have one or two babies at a time, so we don't need more than two nipples.
yea marcille left her staff in the cave. i dont believe the anime shows it but the manga has panels of her sliding down the cliff without her staff, so she had to quickly make do with a random twig before following izutsumi the cave still confuses me as well. i suppose seeing the wolves, izutsumi immediately changed her mind about getting the sheep and turns back around (i assume) towards the cliff they came from, and enters a random cave hoping itll reconnect to their original spot or something? since she mentions a fire and stuff
I love the anime, but does have some baffling choices about what to cut. It is almost like they are not considering if the information that is lost will make a difference down the line. And here it was in the same episode! Makes me concerned about some more world building and exposition heavy episodes to come.
