wow. thats a big struggle and a lot to leave behind for the sake of God. I know its not easy to leave behind a "successful" career and lifestyle. But now you know that real success is in the eyes of God and not in the eyes of the world. In fact there's a verse that says if you follow the majority of the people they will misguide you; away from the path of God. That verse helped validate me a lot. You greatest gift will be the inner peace that so many only hope for even with all the riches. May you be blessed in every way in this world and the next and may God only increase you in guidance and fruits.

I request you to read Quran in your native language like any other books you might have read in your life since you were born. May Allah guide you to the straight path and open your heart for this beautiful religion of Islam.
It is your responsibility to remove these bad thoughts though. It might not be haram because Allah made islam so easy, but it’s still your responsibility and would eventually lead to bad actions if you don’t stop them.
An addition to the remembrance part, another ayah of the Quran that also is perfectly relevant with what your saying is Surat taha ayah 124 “وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِى فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةًۭ ضَنكًۭا وَنَحْشُرُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ أَعْمَىٰ" But whoever turns away from My remeberance will certainly have a miserable/depressed life, then We will raise them up blind on the Day of Judgment.” Subhanallah

26:14 i just applied this crazy. Let me share example, maybe help others. I was looking for a pen. The first pen I found was a bad one, so i started looking for another. I looked in one bag but found nothing. As I was looking, I noticed I was starting to feel “anger”. I paused on tried to apply some things here and control my thoughts. I did zikr and remembered that Allah allows provides better just need to be patient. I looked in another bag found two perfect ones. HamdullAllah I have another story but that one is crazy have to do a live maybe one day bro InshAllah

Masha'Allah. You think exactly like i do. It's taken a lot of trauma & hardship to understand all this. & I am no where near on the level of peace i want to be. But the struggle makes sense and helps you understand why Allah made the universe this way, and the balance of everything. Life is a full circle and the closer we look into this the closer to our soul we get. Everyday we have the opportunity to seek knowledge and it always blows me away when a thought comes in my mind that i know is from Allah. The best advice i can give for gratitude is practice mindfulness. Things like not using your phone while eating and actually using all your senses with every meal so you can fully appreciate it. It's always the small things we overlook because life now, specially in the west is so fast. SLOW living is SUNNAH Living.

Surah maryam ( chapter on Virgin Mary) 19.2 talks about Zachariah in the following; Maryam 19:2] This is the remembrance of the mercy of your Lord upon His bondman Zakaria. [Maryam 19:3] When he softly prayed to his Lord. [Maryam 19:4] He submitted, "O my Lord - my bones have become weak and old age shines forth from my head, and O my Lord, I have never been disappointed in my prayer to you." Zakariya gained a child at old age through his rememberance aka his dhikr ( zakar in hebrew) Fun fact- zachariah means "remember youre lord"

I believe we diminish that light or feel empty and lost by being selfish and ungrateful and the moment we choose a higher calling like helping others or worshipping the creator out of gratefulness we feel satisfied and content within. if you think about it that's exactly our purpose on earth to worship ALLAH establish a connection with the creator and be of service to others or at least to do them no harm, any great person you can think about you'll see that he dedicated his life to be of service either to God, people or the best of them to both.

Hey Mohammed, I watched this video today and agree in many cases. That there is energy, etc. Let me give you an example from my own experience. I prayed Tahajjud for 3 months. I was careful about everything, stayed away from anything Haram. My wish was to marry the girl I loved. I prayed every second, every minute. After 3 months, I asked through a friend if she would like to get to know me. The answer I received was that she got married the next day. Years have passed, and I'm still allone. Despite doing so much Dhikr, I haven't gotten the girl I love, nor have I found a decent job. Please tell me, what did I do wrong?
If you want Aeroplane, God will give you bicycle. And if you want bicycle God will give you Aeroplane. This is test to check how much grateful you are for you have. God knows better what is good and what's is not for you. So trust in Allah and be grateful for him. Alhamdulillah
Chasing a specific person is a waste of time. Ask Allah for the kind of wife you want. Allah knows best. Have you ever considered that she was not good for you and Allah protected you. You know what they say, man’s rejection is God’s protection.
I remember praying Tahajjud almost everyday for 6 months and I did not marry the man I wanted. But I continued to pray and 4 months later (after those first 6 months), I married someone way better for me. Alhamdulillah Allah DID NOT ANSWER the first prayer BECAUSE I WAS BLIND AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A HORRIBLE MARRIAGE ALHAMDULILLAH ALLAH SAVED ME AND GAVE ME BETTER. It's because you don't really know what you want. What you wanted last year or a couple of years ago is not the same as what you want now. Only Allah knows what you really want because He made you.

Selamun Aleykum, I think theres a misconception. The Soul is the ruh not the nafs. The nafs will be left when dying and the Soul emerges. The Bad things and desires come from the nafs, which is whispered to by shaitan. The Soul on the other hand is pure and free from evil things and worldly desires

Imagine you were in a very rough lifestyle doing and engaging in a lot of things, later on with Allah’s help you realize yourself and become a better person. Allah doesn't punish us for having bad thoughts, but rewards us for not acting upon them.

The ruqyah option is so real, I'm a christian so I used orthodox chants instead, and my god, my soul has never felt so cleansed! I completely forgot these chants renew your soul. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

Masha'Allah. You think exactly like i do. It's taken a lot of trauma & hardship to understand all this. & I am no where near on the level of peace i want to be. But the struggle makes sense and helps you understand why Allah made the universe this way, and the balance of everything. Life is a full circle and the closer we look into this the closer to our soul we get. Everyday we have the opportunity to seek knowledge and it always blows me away when a thought comes in my mind that i know is from Allah. The best advice i can give for gratitude is practice mindfulness. Things like not using your phone while eating and actually using all your senses with every meal so you can fully appreciate it. It's always the small things we overlook because life now, specially in the west is so fast. SLOW living is SUNNAH Living.

Surah maryam ( chapter on Virgin Mary) 19.2 talks about Zachariah in the following;
Maryam 19:2] This is the remembrance of the mercy of your Lord upon His bondman Zakaria. [Maryam 19:3] When he softly prayed to his Lord. [Maryam 19:4] He submitted, "O my Lord - my bones have become weak and old age shines forth from my head, and O my Lord, I have never been disappointed in my prayer to you."
Zakariya gained a child at old age through his rememberance
aka his dhikr ( zakar in hebrew)
Fun fact- zachariah means "remember youre lord"

I believe we diminish that light or feel empty and lost by being selfish and ungrateful and the moment we choose a higher calling like helping others or worshipping the creator out of gratefulness we feel satisfied and content within. if you think about it that's exactly our purpose on earth to worship ALLAH establish a connection with the creator and be of service to others or at least to do them no harm, any great person you can think about you'll see that he dedicated his life to be of service either to God, people or the best of them to both.

Hey Mohammed, I watched this video today and agree in many cases. That there is energy, etc.
Let me give you an example from my own experience. I prayed Tahajjud for 3 months. I was careful about everything, stayed away from anything Haram.
My wish was to marry the girl I loved. I prayed every second, every minute. After 3 months, I asked through a friend if she would like to get to know me. The answer I received was that she got married the next day.
Years have passed, and I'm still allone. Despite doing so much Dhikr, I haven't gotten the girl I love, nor have I found a decent job. Please tell me, what did I do wrong?
If you want Aeroplane, God will give you bicycle. And if you want bicycle God will give you Aeroplane. This is test to check how much grateful you are for you have.
God knows better what is good and what's is not for you. So trust in Allah and be grateful for him. Alhamdulillah
Chasing a specific person is a waste of time. Ask Allah for the kind of wife you want. Allah knows best. Have you ever considered that she was not good for you and Allah protected you. You know what they say, man’s rejection is God’s protection.
I remember praying Tahajjud almost everyday for 6 months and I did not marry the man I wanted. But I continued to pray and 4 months later (after those first 6 months), I married someone way better for me. Alhamdulillah Allah DID NOT ANSWER the first prayer BECAUSE I WAS BLIND AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A HORRIBLE MARRIAGE ALHAMDULILLAH ALLAH SAVED ME AND GAVE ME BETTER.
It's because you don't really know what you want. What you wanted last year or a couple of years ago is not the same as what you want now. Only Allah knows what you really want because He made you.

Selamun Aleykum, I think theres a misconception. The Soul is the ruh not the nafs. The nafs will be left when dying and the Soul emerges.
The Bad things and desires come from the nafs, which is whispered to by shaitan.
The Soul on the other hand is pure and free from evil things and worldly desires
