Macon Speedway is one of the 100+ tracks I've been to over the decades, and it never matters what division they are racing at Macon: it's going to be a wild and memorable event. Videos do not do this track justice - at all - and you need to put this track on your bucket list.
I've been there at least a dozen times over the past 30 years and it never disappoints.

If I want to see cars get tore up I’ll just go to the dome or a demolition derby. I like to see racing where we actually see good racing🤷🏻♂️
@@deangelojeremitriusvickers6319 In the dozen or so times I've been to Macon for sprints, midgets, late models and modifieds it's never been a 'crash' track more or less than any other I've been to. Some nights Knoxville has no sprint wrecks, other nights there is a half dozen. :)

That Track surface looked like a Corn Field !
It's right next to a cemetery. It was built in the mid 40s on the site of a old brick factory. Pit area backs up to a farm field. Runs everything from super late models, 410 sprints, to sport mods, hornets. I believe a few years even ran ama motorcycles

If you have to dump someone to win you probably aren't as good as you think you are, rtj should have one coming
He's almost always fast and a factor so I don't understand why he feels he needs to wreck everybody to get ahead. Look at huddy last year he had a rocketship almost all year and how many times did he dump the leader for a win or spin out lapped cars just to throw a caution? Not too many same with davenport when he was on fire in 2022. Hardly ever touched anybody
Yep that move was not needed but of course he knew BP had the car to beat. Just a shame we get both on the same track and he pulls that kind of move out🤦🏻♂️

I feel like this track was just too small for the amount of cars and laps that this race was.
This was just one of those rough nights. I've seen races here with maybe 1 caution. Track being rough probably had something to do with it as well.

I am NOT a fan of RTJ and until I started paying attention to him about a year ago I knew nothing about him. Always thought there were a bunch of whiners in the comments but you give him an inch and he takes a mile- it never fails. Puts somebody in the wall or spins out the leader damn near every race, and if that isn't going to help him he spins out a lapped car just to throw a caution. Seen him do it multiple times. Then God forbid somebody merely touches him and the sky falls. If he did that to Bobby on the last lap I can guarantee Bobby would've trashed both of their cars

To be fair BP has been known to bang folks too and I’m a huge BP fan. RTJ just better be ready because he’s taking out all the big names this year😂 he’s determined to hit every driver from both the big series😂

Actually, after watching Bobby race his whole career, he woulda said he shoulda checked up. He’s far from the Smooth Operator, there’s only one guy that was Mr Smooth. There is no Smooth Operator.
It’s called partly Macon, and partly, neither Bobby nor RTJ race with much respect.
Every single time Bobby pulls that exact move, which is a shit move, he says they shoulda crossed me over. Well, at that moment you are committed and can’t. This time the shoe was on the other foot.

Tyler erb got a raw deal there towards the end when he got spun and had to go to the back. He never stopped rolling even though he was going backwards. Still came back towards the front. Those young drivers are good on bullrings when you have to be up on the wheel. Erb, Hudson, Bobby pierce etc

Pierce could have taken Ricky out at the North/South last year but didn't. And Pierce still won the race. Frankly I'd love to see a few drivers getting some payback Thornton at this point.

The only reason Pierce didn’t take him out was because Thornton backed out, settled for second to get the points instead of it being squeezed into the wall.
Pierce has pushed more cars into the outside wall than he’s won races.

This where F1 racing gets it right. RTJ would get penalized and pierce gets his spot back. That was 100% dirty.
One of these days Castro flow racing night in America will come to Beckley motor speedway in southern West Virginia and at least have a 3/8 mile track they can run 12 seconds flat on and handle that amount of cars for as many laps as they want but this track right here tonight was ridiculously too narrow and small for that many super late models of that caliber

That was a hell of a race to see in person the video does not do it justice. and for all the haters in the comments the racing not always that bad. Summer nations last year was a great show. im from the area so i might be a bit bias ,but its normally a good show.

Racing was great but the track just seems waaaaaaaaaay too small for these guys
Personally I'm sick of the slide job running over the leader. I don't care who it is. Late models have turned into bumper cars and that's not racing. Officials need to start penalizing cars who run other cars over even if they try to claim it wasn't deliberate. I don't have a favorite driver I'm just a dirt track fan but I don't care to see top drivers being ran over. At this rate it's starting to look as if it's deliberate every time.
I'm a retired old school dirt tracker and I been saying for several years now the flagman should use the black flag more often.
Pull it out a couple of times and you'll change their attitude.
They should have let pierce get his spot back and let it play out

Forgive me for saying so, but what a crappy little race track. Had one like that in Quincy IL and there was now way I was taking my car there, a demo derby all night. And I live in Macon, but it's Missouri here, LOL. Thanks for the video.
Its not always this bad. last year for the summer nationals race it was 100 laps and their was only 3 or 4 yellows and it was a good race.

Garrett Smith in that #10 car had something broke on his front end,that driver steer tire looked as if it was finna leave the party behind there,that’s about the same time Smith decided to jump on the binders because ain’t know way in hell he had any control sawing that steering wheel back & forth. There’s all kinda broke shit up under the front end of that damn car. Hated like hell to see those others guys having purty strong runs racing it out behind Garrett stack their cars up into each other,but fuck on a 1/5 mile wide oval where the hell do you go to get outta your own way. You don’t, which is why they stacked em’ behind him. That sucked for them drivers tho, Smith in that #10 Rocket chassis did about all he could do with the broken shit he had on the front end of that car. Just a racing deal

I forgot to mention June 29 is the make up race for the Beckley USA 100 that pays $20,000 to win and I think it was a southern nationals race to begin with for the spring series but it might still be open for a big sponsorship even though it’s still paying the guaranteed money but that would make a good event this year for Flo racing or any other big series at Beckley Motor Speedway located in prosperity WV

It is too small for that many but i liked it, it was different, challenged the drivers in ways they are not used to, but very hard to avoid wrecks and get to the front if you dont start well, i thought they tore the lid off the dome
