1. Buy 1000 pennies. 2. Seed the beach with them at night. 3. Set up your chair with binoculars in the morning. 4. Enjoy the lulz when the metal detector guys show up!!! 5. (Evil villain laugh)
I’ve made a few spoon rings, mostly silver plate. Look at the cut to see the layer. The plated ones are the hardest to bend. Been a long time since I’ve had my detectors out.
Dude...your stock just went WAYYYYYUP!! Thank you for a GREAT video...I'm a long, long, long way from home and every once in a while I need to hear (and see) some waves...HB is the heart of cool... I am very impressed with this ML 600/800...12" for a dime?? That's crazy!! The 800 is definitely on my list.
Great finds - lots of different things you got there. Unfortunately, I'm hundreds of miles from the beach, so I'll just have to stick to city parks, schools, etc. I loved the silver spoon ring @13:50 that was pretty nice find there. HH
Metal detecting in alaska (keithie6) Hey keithie, I am new to metal detecting and was wondering what types of detectors are good and reputable... I live in a more desert Type area and was wondering if you could lead me in the right direction...
Doing beach combing in LA County you're competing with the County that has special trucks that roam the beaches collecting trash and the coins (plus) in the sand. Had a neighbor who worked for the county and his job was driving those trucks. When i did some Metal Detecting at the beach i had better luck around the swing set then the open beach.
Ive had a metal detector for one year and 4 months. Found a 60$ 1796 spanish 2 reale, a 40$ 1854 seated quarter, 15$ 1894 barber quarter, 30$ silver ring at the beach and a 15$ silver cross. I hunt mostly old farms but you can make ur money back as long as you think outside the box. So im about 170$/280$ paid back
My metal detectors have paid for themselves several times over. I prospect for native copper mineral specimens and some mining artifacts and sell on Ebay. The hunting is fun, selling is fun and it gets you outside and active. It's an easy decision especially if you're in an historic relic-rich area, a mineral-rich area, populated beaches, desert dry lakes (for meteorites) and other places frequented by the public. Even if it doesn't pay for itself, you'll have a lot of fun trying.
Nice! I like to go beach detecting, never know what pops up. Thought about posting videos to my 'outdoors' channel. Just got the detector this winter. I'm way north so I haven't seen a lot of action yet, with the snow and all, but I found some coins, a bracelet, etc. Fun!
I am caregiver to my mom, and there is a program where you get paid to care for family members. They will interview your brother or observe him and determine the number of hours per month he is eligible for. You'd get paid training and medical/dental/vision, paid vacation, etc. Check into it.
Good metal detector and cool sand sifting device. So many coins. I'm not in the us but it must be a very busy beach. Soak all of them in vinegar for 24 hours.
I found a small steel cable in the ground once. I pulled it out as far as I could, probably 200 hundred feet or so, and got exhausted. I had to leave. But I went back the next day and the cable was back in the ground just like when I found it. The next day, same thing....pull and pull only to find it back in the ground the next day the same way it was. Finally after a week of this I got a letter from a guy in China telling me to knock it off cuz he found it first. It was weird.
My daughter always picks up pennies from anywhere. She has a five gallon water jug half full! It’s taken years but she’s determined to fill it and go on a vacation. I joke with her and tell her she will be going to the local holiday inn for the weekend and she said she didn’t care. It’s the principal of the thing!
What is a good small metal detector for going into old houses and trying to find them. I sometimes clean out hoarder houses. will they distinguish silver vs gold vs metal pipes in the walls?
I was thinking “man a fanny pack would be perfect for this to just throw junk in” and then I realized I added to the nerdiness of metal detecting lol. Getting an equinox 800 soon. I’m stupid excited.
I know a few people who would love to have one of these. This is the life, right? Strolling down the beach with the sounds of waves crashing in the background while rediscovering treasures hidden just beneath the surface... What's better than that?!
I absolutely LOVE the spoon ring you find in this video! I am now on the search for a similar silver spoon and an affordable jeweler capable of making me my own. :)
In Tampa I would find many of the same things. Found out the park warden was seeding the beach. The metal detector guys would clean up trash such as sharp pop cans and such. Fair trade off i guess. got some decent Gasperilla coins.
Hey Mr. Furgeso, I just got in metal detecting and I like looking at TH-cam videos and came across yours I got to say that I like the finding at the beach . Can you tell me where is the beach and if you ever plan a trip to Metal detect florida beaches hit me up I'm in Florida and would mind teaming up to some beach Detecting! Eddie
Hello Robert! You made a nice video man, there is a beautiful beach and you are lucky guy beacause in Romania is forbidden to detect on the beach... All the best from a detectorist friend!
Yep! “Bubble Up” was a soft drink when I was kid, in the late 50’s- early ‘60s. It had sort of a lemon/lime flavor, and was clear, like 7UP., but better tasting. I don’t know how in the world that bottle cap could be in that good of shape.
Robert, is there any way you could just abstain from digging pennies for a while and see if there is a payoff by having more time to dig higher value targets.
That spoon ring is real, man. You can tell by the look, however, since they are usually made by an individual, it’s rare that they have the equipment to stamp them. Source: I have made many a spoon ring
A very good hunt. Enjoyable video, excellent scenery, beautiful weather and some nice discoveries. Looking forward to your next. Gold is coming brother, soon if not your next hunt. Later
The ring that ha the opal looking Stone is probably what they call a moon stone. The moonstone has opalescent properties. There is a whole bunch of them just a little bit past Morro Bay
You said someone told you gold gives a reading less than ten. I always test my detector with several size gold rings so you know what to expect. A 27 is a good number on my white for gold. Of course a nickel , gold ring and pull tab have very similar response on most detectors. I only dig quarters and readings that can be gold. .
50-60 years ago my uncle found a complete Spanish gold necklace on the Texas coast. His widow, my aunt, still has it as far as I know. I've seen it many times and it's the real deal. He had it apprised and certified as original from some ship? He never said what they appraised it at but said one could live very very well for many years if sold. Guess my cousin will inherit it.
Hey Robert, just wanted to say that your videos are well done and a lot of fun to watch. Please keep them coming!
Bill
William Paxton thanks Bill
Whoa ~ that’s a lot of sand to detect! What great fun! Awesome waves - thanks for filming them.
You should carry a small loupe or a pocket magnifier with you. Awesome video. Nice rings! I'm really looking forward to the next one!
1. Buy 1000 pennies.
2. Seed the beach with them at night.
3. Set up your chair with binoculars in the morning.
4. Enjoy the lulz when the metal detector guys show up!!!

Wait wait wair
T...
BUY pennies? Lol
😂😂
Why pennies? Bottle caps...
I did it!
I smell pennies
You sound like such a nice guy, I hope you find something decent, you deserve it.
Exactly what i feel watching this
I’ve made a few spoon rings, mostly silver plate. Look at the cut to see the layer. The plated ones are the hardest to bend. Been a long time since I’ve had my detectors out.

OMG! I’m a landlocked Texan and I loved this video just for the sounds and sights! I do have a metal detector too, though.
Great finds - lots of different things you got there. Unfortunately, I'm hundreds of miles from the beach, so I'll just have to stick to city parks, schools, etc. I loved the silver spoon ring @13:50 that was pretty nice find there. HH
I like how you take pictures of your rings you find, such a cool idea with your detector in it!!
Get an ice cube and press the silver to it. If the ice starts to melt immediately, it's a good chance it's silver.
Good idea but do you really think he wants to melt it
Jack Andusco are you asking about the ice cube?
it melts silver! don't let it get cold 😂
*Edited so your jokes don't make sense anymore 😂
dammit, fixed!
hey Robert
fantastic beach hunt,,wish I had beaches here
I would be out there everyday ,lol good luck on your future hunts (thumbs up)
Metal detecting in alaska (keithie6) Hey keithie, I am new to metal detecting and was wondering what types of detectors are good and reputable... I live in a more desert Type area and was wondering if you could lead me in the right direction...
Love your videos, I always learn so much about where to detect on the beach and the VDI numbers for the Nox. Thanks for sharing and keep em coming 🙂

Here in uk we dont have that. Just volunteer/council pickers that pick trash on the surface
Gotta beat em too it
So...my understanding is that the metal detector slowly but surely pays for itself?!
yea by pennies and stuff
but you probably will need 6 or more years to get your money back unless you get something else than garbage
Kebab Cat he got some pretty good things in his last videos
Ive had a metal detector for one year and 4 months. Found a 60$ 1796 spanish 2 reale, a 40$ 1854 seated quarter, 15$ 1894 barber quarter, 30$ silver ring at the beach and a 15$ silver cross. That item you said might be a belt buckle or something is a picture frame holder, look on the back of a larger picture frame, they have those

I enjoy how you talk about what you are doing and why you are digging in the spot you are digging.

With all the Photog's around for a shore break this must be the legendary "The Wedge" beach
Once found a golden ring with a toy metal detector. It worked just fine. I'm thinking about picking the hobby up again but I'm not sure....
I love that u share some of the waves too! Feels like I'm there finding treasure too👍👍👍
I was thinking “man a fanny pack would be perfect for this to just throw junk in” and then I realized I added to the nerdiness of metal detecting lol. Getting an equinox 800 soon. I’m stupid excited.

Strolling down the beach with the sounds of waves crashing in the background while rediscovering treasures hidden just beneath the surface...
What's better than that?!
Ye i prefer this over fishing
@@p.maesthetics7154 I bet they sell like hotcakes in places like California where the weather is (usually) perfect for such a hobby.
Can you show what values the rings present when they are detected ....?
Did he just throw the trash back down? When I go to the beach, I stop even for bottle caps. Every little bit helps!
Were did you get the scooper
I absolutely LOVE the spoon ring you find in this video! I am now on the search for a similar silver spoon and an affordable jeweler capable of making me my own. :)

Cool I live in Tampa ;-;
Where can 1 find a handy scoop like that.
I like the digger sifter thing you're using, better than the spaghetti strainer I use.
they should make a wide sandplow that you can push down the beach that sifts through everything.
This was my first time watching one of your videos. Really liked it. Have dd

Looked like the Wedge , Balboa CA.
This looks like the wedge at Newport Peninsula.

@ 20:25, I believe it is a clip off a pair of suspenders. Or even off a belt.
Small tarnished piece of metal sawtooth edges. Looks like the locking clasp off of old time suspenders.
The waves are breaking way too fast? I have never surfed, but looks like no one has an even chance.
Robert, is there any way you could just abstain from digging pennies for a while and see if there is a payoff by having more time to dig higher value targets.
were you have buying you metaldektektor
do yall have aligaters in california
That spoon ring is real, man. You can tell by the look, however, since they are usually made by an individual, it’s rare that they have the equipment to stamp them. Source: I have made many a spoon ring

Hey there can i ask what shovel your using? As i need 1 but can't find any at all, any help will be appreciated, cheers :-)
Ebay
Wow, cool ring (12:05). Opal?
A very good hunt. Enjoyable video, excellent scenery, beautiful weather and some nice discoveries. Looking forward to your next. Gold is coming brother, soon if not your next hunt. Later
Thanks for the video, Robert. Hope to see you around on the E.F. soon. By the way, I'm saving for a 800 thanks to you...
Awesome video
If I may ask, just what is that White’s detector you are using? It kind of looks like the MX Sport but not quite.
Looks like Balboa and the wedge?
The dirty nasty old wedge!
The ring that ha the opal looking Stone is probably what they call a moon stone. The moonstone has opalescent properties. There is a whole bunch of them just a little bit past Morro Bay
Baldwin is just a higher end lock manufacturer. They make a lot of brass hardware for doors and drawer pulls.

So, how much money, total?
Great video!!! Love the sound of the ocean...and good finds with my detector!!!
You’re spot on with what’s under the sand. Is it the beeps? The numbers?
I just love your videos! and your voice is so calming :)
Why was everyone just standing near the water?
Looks like they had a tripod camera set up and were probably filming the surfers.
Locksmith here, that key is from a Baldwin house lock, they use a Schlage keyway.
Awesome finds!!! Also glad to see all the garbage getting picked up as well!!
what kind of metal detector do you have?????
mode beach 1 or 2?
I want to start detecting. What does those terms mean? Drop off, cut, ect.. why low tide? Is it legal on any public beach?
What is the first beach you went to?
How do you know if the waves step are going to be big or bigger than normal?
John Allen I check all that stuff online surf report tide charts that kind of thing
Awesome hunt my friend thanks for sharing.
Keep Digging
Best wishes
That ring looked platinum. Opal is often set in pkatinum
Why do not you show them?
Do you know how much the metal detector cost and were u got it?
You should show us ALL the stuff you’ve collected from metal detecting. That would be really interesting :)
Hi Robert, I'm wanting to bye ne one of those, one that works good but easy to work, could you give me a suggestion?
interesting shovel. Greetings from the Crimea
cool nice hunt 👍👍👍😀👍👍👍
did he throw the trash back down
Hi what u using in the sand to help dig

Cool video ! Have you ever found gold coins . Or really old silver coins ?
Santa Cruz?
Who makes this detector?
I ...is the minelab 600 or 800? Thanks
the wedge?
12:20 Geology and Jewelry nut here, the gem in the ring looks like Moonstone to me. Someone's gonna be sad to have lost that.
Paying it off...one penny at a time. Very cool. Also, what else are you going to do with it?
Why dump out the sand to try over and over to see what’s in it? Why not just sift the sand? You already said a coin spill? Just wondering
A lot of beach to detect there!
What metal detector model robert
Is here Huntington Beach?
Great video brother thanks for sharing. Good luck and happy hunting.
What is the scoop you used called?
A wonderful nothing ! Waves and ocean air. My best find was a girl's high school class ring.
