Ahri's a decent auto attack DPS character. Not because of the damage her kit adds, obviously, but she gets a lot of tools that help her do the job. Her E, W, and R all help her stay safe and press advantages when she has them. At the end of the day, as long as your character isn't singled out for combat stats (like Annie for example with her ultra low AD and ASPD scaling) and you have a ranged auto attack, ranged DPS is an option. The more tools you get to do it safely, the less you care about attack steroids. It doesn't matter what champion you use, they can all (ironically, except Zeri) reach the 1500-2000 DPS range with auto attacks. The specialists like Vayne, Kog'Maw, and other high dps auto attackers just happen to get there sooner, or do it safer.
"attack speed scaling" is non-existant in LoL. Edit: Some of this is wrong information as some champions (30, to be specific) have modified base AS that is different from their AS ratio. Additionally this comparison is only true at level 1. At higher levels, champions that have a high AS growth stat will naturally benefit LESS from increases to attack speed, though this difference caused from diminishing returns is rather low. So read what is below with a grain of caution - everything I say below is generally true, with the exception of those 30 champions. A character with base AS of 1.0 does 100DPS, and then gets 100% increased attack speed from an item. They now have an AS of 2.0 and do 200DPS Another character with base AS of 0.5 does 100DPS, and then gets 100% increased attack speed from an item. They now have an AS of 1.0 and do 200DPS. Both characters gain the exact same benefit from the %increased attack speed: 100% increased DPS. The formula remains the same: DPS = damage per hit * base attack speed * attack speed multiplier. Just because your base attack speed is low, does not mean you have poor attack speed scaling. What it means is you have lower synergy with on-hit items, as low attack speed characters typically have higher base damage to compensate. Very different concepts.

On the point of attack speed scaling being non-existent, there is Jhin who scales attack damage based off his attack speed as well as Yasuo and Yone both scale Q cdr based off of attack speed as well. There is also Kai'sa who has cast speed of W and it's evolution scaling based off attack speed. There are probably more but those are ones that directly scale with attack speed in some way. Final note, Senna has an attack speed ratio of .4 so she literally gets less attack speed than other champions from the same items, but this is to throttle her infinite scaling.

If you had 2 hypothetical champions, one with 1000 base AD and another with 20 base AD, you wouldn't say one of them scales worse with attack speed, because they both gain the same benefit from AS. All you'd say is one is better suited for attack speed builds than the other, because a different stat (AD) becomes more attractive. Example being tryndamere who gets a ton of AD from his passive so he wants AS items more (or, to be more precise as I'm saying, wants AD items less). But the scaling is the same for both. You're right in saying it limits their DPS, but that's because that champion is simply designed to have bad auto attack DPS. They still scale in the same way.
AD Ahri is my preferred way to play her, and in general one of my favorite builds. I do prefer the 100% crit route, and throwing in an Essence Reaver is pretty strong.

Aight this was crazy cool. Can other mages/assassins go ad on-hit stuff effectively? Maybe like vex or fizz or something? Or maybe Nami since her E grants her extra on-hit. Orianna passive could work with these as well. Maybe do an on-hit seraphine build maxing the damage on her notes. That would be cool.
Okay that was... pretty convincing. The dragon fight where you basically just ulted up to each enemy one at a time and burned them down was terrifying, that's Kassadin-tier cleanup. On the subject of Nashors - don't forget that Nashors itself also has 100 AP on it, so when you were comparing it to Wit's, it would have given you about 42 on-hit damage, on top of another 300ish damage to your burst combo, plus 10% more attack speed and 15 haste. I still think Wits was the right choice, but against a little bit less magic burst Nashors might be better....
Poppy got a buff to her q and armor from her w passive last pach. You didn't played her at all and did not used AA before dashing in with e. Do something about it 🙏 🙏 🙏
Now i wanna see some type of rageblade anivia build. Tons of cc, slow and dps. Add a ton of mr and stuff to that... She has pretty low base AS and scaling but there might be something there
You should try AS LeBlanc. Hail of blades with Stormrazor, Essence reaver, Navori/IE.... you can enter with W and aa like 3 times with the burst of hail of blades, stormrazor and ER. Dont really know which other items cause i stomped some Plat games with only 3 items. Any idea on how to continue the build?

Ive started making an alternater frist item even on ad champ. Makes early poke hit a bit harder and it kins of cheap. But im also not a huge fan of the ring or sword starter items. It could have made your rank 1 Q worth poking.
Being Zwag fun from Europe has both good and bad sides... On bad chance to play with Zwag is around O...good sides is every day I got fresh nice content to enjoy before sleeping time here around 2am

Kraken slayer with guinsoo still doesn't work properly btw, if you pay attention you can see that after guinsoo's fully stacked it procs kraken in basically an "2 2 2 5 2 2 2 5" auto sequence

the fact that these auto attack dps builds are so much more popular on ahri than her normal builds just goes to show how boring/impactless her normal gameplay feels. kinda irritating that the asu that was supposed to improve her gameplay and everything just made her more mundane
