  • I got a chance to ride the Kayo K6-R 250 at Chad Reeds Moto 40 MX {Intermediate track} on New Years Eve, going into 2022 with a Bang !!
This bike has been Amazing and I have had no issues . The value offered for just $5k is the best value going for a brand new bike right now.

Dave, you seem to be getting comfortable with that Kayo. My question for you is, does it have a comparable transmission gearing to say a YZF 250r or is it a wider ratio transmission like an Enduro version the YZF 250X? Most of the engines in China bikes have a taller gearing to them that gives them a far more linear powerband for trails and leisure riding not strong bottom end and quick revs to get you moving is why I ask.
The other thing I wanted ask you is do you think that the bike would benefit from a CDI and carb mod? Would putting a CR 250F ignition system and carb help bring it to a more competitive level with the pre EFI model big name bikes? It seems to me if the engine could handle being modded without catastrophic failures that it would be the perfect base to build a sleeper out of.
Most people think you have to spend 10, 12, to 15k to have a legit bike and look at bikes coming out of China as not being in the remote capacity for competing. If the chassis and such are as good as you guys on TH-cam are claiming you could build a full-on privateer race worthy machine for half maybe even a third of what it would cost to prep a Japanese bike to compete. I am all about the unknown or underdog it makes taking it to the podium so much more exciting.
I am an old man myself but still am in touch with my inner teenager. Still, although I do not heal like I used to I will still send it in a vet class and put on a show lol! It means more trips to the chiropractor and a few more IB 800s for the swelling of arthritic joints, but by gum I'm down. It does my soul good to see guys in my age group still ripping it. Thanks for the content and enjoy brother 💪🏼👊!

Wow you asked a lot here..I'll do my best and remember this is just opinion..1. This bike is best China bike ever made for MX. 2. The bike revs good and has good power..very linear, but not like an offroad version...good mid range.. 3. There is a CPU available with multiple maps for an upgrade 4. No need for a carb change the nibbi is good if jetted for your area. 5. It's a little heavy 6.Could be a Great sleeper for any level less than pro/A serious guys...a very viable vet sleeper. 7. Yes it could be built to be even better, It has a very mild tune as with most China bikes. 8. With it's MX lineage, it has been very durable so far.

@@Dirt_Bike_Dave see that is what most of the ney-sayers want to know. What I do not understand is why they would not have gone to fuel injection for this model? It seems like they are about 8 years behind the curve in engine tech. Zongshen makes extremely durable engines so why not push the envelope? I want to buy one of these just for the sake of building it to see if it could truly compete against the big guns and have it still be affordable. To be honest if they fuel injected it in the same manner as the other current MX bikes I would pay the extra 700 bucks or so that it would add to the cost. Wheels, tires, bars, levers, and sprockets are things everyone changes up to bling out their bikes anyway so those being on the noname side of things do not bother me.

@@killacoiler1707 , they do make EFI..but they use it for the off road version....but if I am honest they have had some problems with it..but Dude..I would love to see you build one up.😁👍

@@Dirt_Bike_Dave I am going to have to convince the Mrs. To let me buy a few bikes this year because I want to get a few of my grandchildren into the dirt sports. I will make sure that the K6 is in the mix. I am curious about Kayo's pit bike segment if they are truly worth the asking price? I have played with a few brands and Thumpstar and the GPX (pitster pro) bikes have been the ones that have held up to serious abuse in the past but I have not seen anything on the Kayo line. It would be nice to just do a one and done package, you know?

@@killacoiler1707 , yeah I don't know anything about the pit bikes...this is actually my first Kayo...I bought it because it is so much better than anything else out their at this price...a true MX bike, just older tech, very much like a Suzuki.
