    SO helpful and just what I needed for a nerve-wrecking self-introduction video. Thanks so much!

    The message spoken by Mary Daphne has been designed and spoken well; great body language and tone has been perfected. However, the animated cartoon images and animated sound effects may send a patronizing message.

    Thank you for the video, Mary. What do you think about using Powerpoint in a teleprompter, would this leads my speech to more natural?.

    • @ExplearningCo
      @ExplearningCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Thandi! Those are great tools to use provided that you don't lean too heavily on them and use them as a crutch. So, my advice would be to run through your "script" as many times necessary and be as familiar with the content as possible so that you can more more natural and not feel the pressure to stick to it 100% but go off cuff if you're feeling it. Hope it helps!

    Thank you Daphne for the review
    what do you think about using PowerPoint in a prompter? with the ppt mirror tool, slides are mirrored and flipped, would this option lead to more natural speech?

    • @ExplearningCo
      @ExplearningCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andries! Great you enjoyed this lesson. If you'd like my personal opinion, I'm a huge fan of PPT when used correctly :) I think it's a phenomenal way to use it as a prompter, enabling more natural speech. The trick to that, however, is really being strict about not crowding the slides with too much text. Stick to having fewer words/bullet points and possibly only images for some slides in order to jolt your memory. The audience won't be distracted by what's on the slide and instead, listen/watch you and pay attention to what you are saying. Done this way, you leverage the PPT slides as a way to trigger your memory about what you are going to say, rather than reading off the PPT (which we want to avoid at all costs). Hope this helps! Happy Explearning ⚡
