I think this was good but YunDuan kinda got screwed because all Phantom had to do was win 3 matches and not reset the bracket. Almost any Winner and loser bracket tournament you have to win 2 sets (6 matches) when you come from the losers bracket, otherwise all winner bracket get is less matches which could be worst. Less matches lead to less opportunities to adjust and refine things you need to work on also gives your opponent more time to warm up.
You must be crazy begging for more matches dragging the tournament longer. Maybe it is good for the one in leading of Winner bracket, but it is a pain for the viewers. If he is really good, can he just beat the loser bracket? If the loser bracket is better, why does so many try hard with bruisers to win? The only spot with benefit is Jintae with 1 free early losing token, yet he lost the second.
It was a little wierd here. I mean if Jintae would won "loser" match then final would be another Jintae vs Yunduan although we saw this excat match just half hour ago. And now that I think about it sports/esports that have this kind of loser bracket system usually around half-finals just comeback to elimnation system to not make things to confusing. Smilegate should prb do smth similar. Still it was pretty good esport final, I had fun watching it.

In this tournament, Yunduan was basically playing single elimination while everyone else was playing double elimination just because he did really well and never lost a match until the finals. Even in tournaments like LoL where its the same format where theres no reset in the Final the winners bracket team still does get the advantage of getting to decide first pick in the finals for being in the winner bracket while in E7WC the winners bracket player gets nothing for being in the winners bracket, how is that fair?
WTF was that grand finals... You can't run a double elimination bracket and then NOT do a RESET in grand finals?! Phantom should have had to win TWO BO5 matches... one to reset ("send yunduan into loser's") and another one to actually eliminate him from the tournament... this way it's like phantom had 2 chances and yunduan only got 1 as a reward for performing better... lmao

Whether it’s not proper or not, the contestants knew about what the bracket looked like and did not say/challenged it so you can’t say YunDuan, who also played horribly at the end, was screwed over.
