very here for the UncleChill skid row collab, the homeless population in LA def deserves a spotlight and an opportunity to be humanized and share their stories.
@@julihuman yeah it took me a over 20 minutes into the episode to figure out which one it was. I don't think it was the farm though because I never even saw any animals!
This is the easiest going, light-hearted, simple to follow, podcast you will ever listen to. Trying to find a podcast to listen to that wasn’t mind numbingly boring and that seemed to drag on was the main mission in my search for a new podcast to try out. I stumbled upon Podcast but Outside when scrolling through the comedy section on Apple Podcast, I figured it would not hurt to press play and give the show a try. Podcast but Outside is exactly what you would think, this is quite literally a podcast, but... Outside. The hosts, have a sense of humor about as dry as a tumble weed in the desert and keep listeners interested with their backhanded comments about the guests sitting right in front of them. The diversity of guests and stories leads to the creation of a new audial adventure embedded naturally into each episode. A good laugh and fresh content is a guarantee. Anyone looking for an hour or so of mindless stories and genuinely authentic deep dives into strangers' lives has found the podcast for them.
I would really love to see you guys go to Skid Row and let people share their stories. I've done homeless outreach for years and hearing their stories and humanity is so valuable. ❤
I really enjoyed this episode of the creative podcast team, that also interviewed famous actor jon hamn. He enjoyed it very much as he said in an email
If I had to use one word to describe Podcast But Outside, it would certainly be “unique”. This podcast is like no other I have ever listened to. As an avid podcast listener, I usually know what to expect. But this podcast totally caught me off guard. Though the basic idea of the podcast may have been done before (interviewing people), Podcast but Outside takes it to new levels. By interviewing people in random locations across the city, they get to talk to people who they never would have found if they had not set up their table on the side of the road. I first came across this podcast on TikTok. I was instantly intrigued by the natural dry humor that came from Andrew and Cole. Their comments and witty responses to the people they interact with definitely made me giggle more than any other podcast I’ve heard. From the opening of each episode when Cole introduces himself as whatever name comes to mind to the completely irrelevant graphics displayed on the screen, this podcast is a pioneer in the comedy podcast genre. I was also entertained by the way the two obtained guests. Where normal podcasts will email their interviewee’s team and schedule a time to speak, this podcast takes a much more casual approach. Every episode, they set up a table in a new public location. They have recorded in countless locations across the LA area like a park, the sidewalk in front of McDonalds, a bank, and even a wedding. They sit at a basic foldable table with a sign posted that says “Hi! Be a guest on our podcast. We will pay you $1 :)” The smiley face is a crucial part. Anytime someone walks by or looks at them, they say “Wanna talk to us?” Sometimes people say yes, sometimes people say no. One aspect people tend to dread about podcasts is ad reads. Listeners know that podcasters make money this way, but it can be a bore. But Andrew and Cole change the game once again. Even advertisements can add to the entertainment and comedic value of the podcast. Another thing I love about this podcast is the fan/audience interaction. They don’t have a theme song but play one every episode. Each week, they play a fan-written version of their theme song. They are also always happy to talk to fans who show up. They make connections with people they interview and help out or support their businesses. Podcast But Outside is certainly one of a kind. If you are hesitant about listening or watching it, don’t be. It will be the best hour of your day.
my dudes. please do not apologize in the future. Your show will be very important to show real people in real places, not unlike All Gas no Brakes and other channels like that. Never apologize, keep up the good work.
I agree they should leave these people in videos to highlight that these sorts of people (I assume you're talking about rob?) exist in the world (unfortunately), BUT I think for Cole and Andrew its probably important to them to show that they don't necessarily share the same belief system as the person being interviewed.
So, I first heard of you guys on the endless honeymoon podcast. Been watching your shows from most recent backwards. This episode has the best opening song
ha FUN! I've been to that McDonald's before and I think some crazy guy started talking to me when my friends were in line. He had me look up some rural place in the midwest on my phone :)
I like that you guys don't confront people on their views. The whole purpose of this podcast seems to be about getting different perspectives and meeting different people.
Absolutely disagree. Having different opinions is great, but you need to challenge your own and the opinions of others. Especially when they are so abhorrent. If you nod along with anyone no matter what they say, they’ll assume they’re correct and you’re normalizing something that shouldn’t be.
@@lynndavinci4753 exactly. If these guys become Joe Rogan 2 they'll be worse off. Don't platform bad shit for the sake of it. Bad ideas need to be called out.
@@lynndavinci4753 At the very least I appreciate that they clearly paint their guests as idiots. You can argue that platforming certain views is problematic/dangerous, but there is some satisfaction in watching the guests thinking they're in relatable company and then getting outed as batshit/bigoted. There's definitely still been moments where I've been particularly uncomfortable with how little they push back or won't even subtly condescend those types of guests though, especially because 1) audiences can be impressionable, 2) those people will continue to espouse those views in public, and 3) audience members shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable hearing hosts going along with rhetoric that is harmful to them In retrospect I basically just disagreed and circled back to agreeing with you

Just another step closer to the episode where our beloved hosts legitimately become Christian live on the show
I heard Jon Hamm's voice in Invincible and went like "oh! It's the guy from Podcast But Outside" 41:53
Invincible is so fucking good
I love when people plug their music on this podcast and it’s actually really good.
I do love the food place named McDonald's and podcast but outside so this is a big win for me.
McDonald’s new slogan, “I’m lovin’ Jesus”
So I was thinking about initials. You've got the Cole Hersch, Andrew Michaan Podcast = C.H.A.M.P.
the Michaan (Andrew), Cole Hersch Outside Podcast = M.A.C.H.O.P (the best pokeman)
Thank you guys for clarifying that this is the food place McDonald's I thought it was the other one🙏
