When you compare the Clair Obscur's first trailer (so the second video reacted here) to concord"s trailer, it's insane. Concord made me feel nothing, if just cringe and embarassement. Clair Obscur's first trailer made me shed tears. I truly hope Clair Obscur turns out good because it sure does look like a cool game in a genre seen as old and decrepit in the modern game industry. Sure we have a lot a good indie old-school turn-based rpgs, but games of this caliber, we barely see any anymore.
I watched the trailor for this game like 15x after it came out, this is basically an instant buy, with only one caveat of it looking almost "too good" for a smaller dev team, but we will see.
Yeah this feels like industry plant levels of sus. Like how does a smaller dev team who's first game is this able to afford big VAs like Andy Serkis and Charlie Cox, have a large enough budget for the game to look this good and be 30+ hours. They must have found someone who was buying what they were selling.
im so hyped for expedition 33, has Ben Starr (Clive) and Jennifer English (shadowheart) who did crazy good in both of their roles. that and the active time qte mid combat is a nice twist in turn based with qte dodge/parry
The fact they added Legends of dragoon combat is chiefs kiss, it still looks a bit rough, i still need more info about this game, but the combat alone is already giving it hella brownie points.
funny you should mention FF some of the people and code names around this game suggest that it's the remnants of a canceled square enix project where they considered letting Eidos Montreal make what would have been a game called Final Fantasy XV but changes in leadership had square can a lot of their western made projects and a different game made in house got renamed to XV. sandfall the makers of Clair Obscur is comprised of a lot of former ubisoft and eidos devs who might have been working on the canned project, and took that drive forward to just make a new IP turn based game.
I would provide a bit more info rather than just saying "Not true". according to IMDB page Gustave (male character from the trailer) is voiced by Maxence Cazorla and even though Ben Starr has a VC credit on the page - we still don't know who is being voiced by him. but Ben is definitely a voice in the first trailer (the one Baldo wathced second here)
Idk what those trailers were playing at..... Just so people know, this isn't an exclusive like they make it seem, it's being released on every platform, and is arguably going to be a better experience on pc anyway
It might be a pretty great game unless its just "on the rails" and all the environments are essentially boring set pieces you cant explore. Lets hope it opens up a bit more later in the game otherwise running through tunnel to tunnel to tunnel to tunnel is the same sort of thing that was going in ff10 and ff13 which were snooze fests.
I saw 2 problems with this game: 1) 3rd person running animation is GARBAGE. You can see it yourself by watching it at 2x speed in this video. Literally .gif 2) It's Sony. 3) Something bald was in bottom left of the video.
it's not sony, this is a multiplatform (xbox included) game from french developer Sandfall Interactive. I do agree the running animations are not good, that can be fixed.
@@manbearpigsereal playstation trilaer trying to trick people into thinking it's an exclusive. Tale as old as time. If I didn't find out it was releasing on pc, I would've reluctantly bought it for my ps
don't make a turn based game then add quick time events to it. wtf. looks and feels like some mobile game with PC graphics - but i'll keep an eye on it, in case you can disable the QTE bs for an actual turn based experience. Does make me wonder if it ends up playing more like an interactive movie.
They said they wanted turn based but with more engagement from the player. You can also dodge/parry on command, it isnt % based like a typical turn based rpg.
Why do some gamers think QTEs are inherently bad game design for turn based RPGs without ever explaining why that is Final Fantasy has a variety QTEs for special moves, and Mario RPGs have various "minigame" QTEs and for special attacks and a block/parry button (in paper mario), and they're pretty great RPGs... I'm not buying what you're trying to say dude. I actually enjoy having more interactivity within my turn-based games, this genre dies when you stick it in a box of never deviating from its sterile origins.
You realize this isn't something new, this has been in turn based games for a long time now, just off the top of my head Super Mario RPG and Legend of the Dragoon, both used this kind of system to great effect. It does not detract from the turn based experience at all.
Ill buy every game that Ben Starr is VA in
even warframe 1999? hes in it
Just noticed Gustin shouting a strong "Puta!n" in the middle of the scene. Guy knows his roots 🤭

Funny thing is. Nearly all devs that making Clair Bscur are from Ubisoft. It is clear where all the talent went.
no way, legend of dragoon attack timings?
My thoughts exactly, Never expected that.
exactly bro. this is what got me hyped

"Welcome... to the balding lair"
Yeah I can see it.
Chat with the killer bean emotes had me dying 😂
I always watch xeno video that are non ff14 related, it feels refreshing
Persona UI vibes with Legend of Dragoon gameplay.
This RPG seems very promising!

Game jumped at the top of my to buy list since first trailer came out during last Game awards
its like a western persona or newer yakuza game
Not Count Baldula? 🤭
I’d love to see if there is a new way to do turn based
I can only imagine ff6 and ff9 being remade like this and even the older ff's. It would be a dream come true.
That combat camera move is cool, but a little too much imo. I felt a bit dizzy with that. Gonna wait for the review.
Turn-based games are the best.
>reads title
> fppong "what is this game?"
This is definitely my most anticipated game of 2025.
sad he didn't recognize Clive's VA
How are these other comments the same girl....
Ben Starr is the VA for the main character (Clive from FF16)
Not true.

Good for you.
I feel Toad should be showing up to tell us about Timed Hits.
Anyway, thalassophobia says byeeeeee!
Looks great and hope y'all enjoy it!
Giving me mass effect Andromeda facial animation flashbacks
Thank God he isn't a voice actor
I think he will manage well as one. Especially for bald villain characters
xffing
The main dude looks a bit like Robert Pattinson with longer hair and beard
This is everything FF16 should have been.
What final fantasy should’ve been 😢
Gustave, looks like Robert Pattison.
Lune, looks like Emiru with less make up.
Mae looks like...
hi

Goofy ass chatters saying stuff like "he doesn't recognize clive smh" while that's VERY CLEARLY not ben starr...
It literally is him lmao
Raid shadow legends looking real fresh this year
Persona 3 reload is better
P3 always was and always will be overrated as fuck.
it's not the same voice actor as shadowheart
It literally is bruh
@@ShikiRyougi05 ok well then imdb doesnt know how to properly put correct voice actors on new games then cause that was where I looked..
@@kanick1983 No VA has been confirmed yet as far as i'm aware, so it makes sense that jennifer wouldn't be on there.
@ShikiRyougi05 there are a handful listed as main characters on there just not her
It doesn't bring anything new or even refine anything, that I can see anyway. Shadow hearts did this terrible qte "gameplay" before.
