All rather sad. People like this guy trying to find a better place to avoid paying tax and contributing to the society that he wants to live in, and presumably expecting all the services (like roads, hospitals, schools, a functional and uncorrupted bureaucracy and legal system).
What's sad is politician's sending our tax dollar's to other countries when we need all of it right here. Billions to Israel every year. Billions to so many countries. Billions to Ukraine 🇺🇦 passing legislation to send even more. That's sad. Wake up to the reality of how our taxed money is used and abused.
It's Malaysia's own decision to have a territorial tax system and not charge for offshore income. If you live in Malaysia you're already paying the value added tax on local purchases, plus property tax on your residence (either directly or via a landlord). Not to mention, if you get this visa you'll be paying an upfront fee for the visa (the functional equivalent of a tax), and helping to capitalize the banking system with your fixed deposit. And most participants are likely spending more in the local economy, at least on a per day basis while in the country, than the average Malaysian, not only creating jobs via the demand side but also, again, paying that VAT. So relax, dude. Malaysia is getting paid. There's a reason, after all, that the government introduced this programme.
Probably attractice considering South East Asia is probablly the most stabile. The country is also geopolitically neutral. Malaysia can make a good base.

On a broader sense, multi-racial Malaysia is among the tops for a residence permit. English is widely spoken(most important), has very good infrastructure and transport in the form of buses, taxis, trains, planes to every corner of the country including small towns (unlike the United KIngdom), tons of white sand beaches, islands and rainforest mountains. A very safe country to live with cheap living costs from rents, food, cars (compared to sky high living Singapore). A warning if the low ( presently zero) tax rate on foreign income is influencing your decision, last year, under pressure from the US this income was going to be taxed. Rates up to 23% were talked about but seemed to settle on 5%. In the end a 5 year exemption was agreed but still the threat lingers if you are looking at a 20 year time frame.
Portugal has a D7 visa that is less stringent on income requirement, and no deposit in the bank. Just show a proof of passive income of about 900 USD per person and 1600 USD for family of 2. with a clean criminal record you get a permanent resident status. You can't work though and it is meant for mainly retirees although there is no lower age limit for that. I would prefer Portugal over Malaysia but the housing and cost of living will be more than Malaysia for sure. You will have a European life style and access to all EU countries in a few hours if you are fond of travel and exploring Europe
The fact that foreigners can purchase freehold in Malaysia makes me think I should just buy property directly instead of going through one of their programs. I think the programs are great for tax planning though.

Malaysia broke a commitment in made in December to not change policy on money remitted to Malaysia from abroad. 4. Urinating - in some areas esp at night it does happen, but I don't see it often - they do need more public lavatories - but rarely see it where I live.
5. "Beggars' - only in some areas, and even then, what's the problem - give or don't give - up to you.
You seem to focus on and magnify a few problem issues; I think the friendly/hospitable locals, great malls, beautiful Islands, English usage and cheap costs of living outweigh any negatives. Cheers.
philippines is prone to many natural disasters, almost every year philippines will get hit by the deadly super typhoon, earthquake, flash flood, tornado, etc
plus the philippines rank no.1 in the highest gun related violence in Asean region
Would like to know more about getting a resistance visa for me and wife . Not sure which one is best, maybe 10 year one, but need more clarification.
You can contact our team at help@nomadcapitalist.com, and they will help you.
Very informative and might be looking for an Asian 2nd residence in the coming year.
How does this 20 year program work if I have a common law partner? I've heard that asia does not usually recognize unwed couples, but thought I'd ask.
Appreciate your input 🌻
Malaysia is attractive. Thank you for sharing! Especially as a combo with Singapore
I think that it is better to get KITAS in Indonesia and live in Bali two year
It costs less than 3000$
Almost free :)
KITAS comes with tax issues.
In what sense
Love Malaysia, hate their residency programs. Retirees are no longer welcome unless they come with lots of money.
As with any such program, it's best to get in early.
I have an “old MM2H permit” in Malaysia. Just before Covid started, I sold my business and moved to Kuala Lumpur and also bought a property. As you know, the MM2H terms - also for existing MM2H permit holders - have been changed.
What is your recommendation for my “case”?
Do you live in Malaysia?
How do we put it in a Malaysian bank account and you need citizenship to open a bank account there? How can I open one as an American
You don't have to be Malaysian to open a bank account here. My bf is American and he opened one with a 1 year visa. :)
Malaysia offers residence, not citizenship.
Sounds like a good deal 👍
That's an excellent opportunity if you want to move to another country and think the future is in Asia. Malaysia has a lot of benefits: a strategic location, excellent transport links, great infrastructure, a dynamic business environment, and many other things. Feel free to contact us. Which Malaysian bank is best to open account & deposit?
Public bank
Wow amazing! I would get one, but I do not own a couple of oil fields.
Also selling a kidney and a leg or two doesn't help either.
My 2 daughter born in Malaysia. can i apply for pr or citizenship for my daughters.
Next time please make a video on Mauritius, I would like to Migrate to an Island Country
I'm from algeria I'm a highschool student i lived in malaysia before i would love to come back i was wondering whats the best way to get residency cause malaysia is the best ❤
Aren't they coming out with a new MM2H this month?
LET'S GO MALAYSIA 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am US Citizen. only 7k steady income not meet their requirements do u have any suggestions
Sabah state of Borneo has better package for My2Home. Sabah is part of Malaysia next door to sarawak
As far as income requirements, are they talking about gross income or net income?
why dont you look into the Labuan Offshore immigration thingy for those who wants to own property and or living in Malaysia
0.23 Yeah RIGHT ~ Keep your money in Singapore and just squat in Malaysia. Thats what the Malaysians themselves are doing. :)
Malaysia is launching De Landau visa on Oct 1st for Digital nomads who like to work and travel.
DE Rantau Nomad Pass Program
This new requirements are impossible to reach of the 99,9% of people want to go there, even if you have quite good saving it’s still impossible
You must be rich or lottery winner
Andrew, you seem a little rushed in this video. Breath, slow down. I want you to be your best.
Hi I'm a mm2h visa holder just wanna know if it's compulsory to spend 90 days in Malaysia
you better know the answer being a mm2h.
The weather is awful. Corruption is shocking.
I thought the deposit is 100k not a million ringgit. I think the million is to purchase a home.
love Malaysia
Andrew said Malaysia is a low tax country. Well for expats with a dual tax agreement it was. But in July a big change came. Malaysia broke a commitment in made in December to not change policy on money remitted to Malaysia from abroad. They said in December they would not change that policy for another 5 years - but then they went and did so and even BACKDATED the change to January 1st.
So all you high earners thinking of coming to Malaysia - don’t be fooled. Don’t get stung. The money you make overseas and send to Malaysia for living on will all now be taxed at 30%.
really? only remitted foreign income , not all foreign income, is it ?
Use a labuan structure. problem solved.
I love the Trump impressions in every clip! You missed your calling as a comedian clearly. But that's ok because you're at the top of your game right here. Bigly!
Is allowed to invest into all country which have citizenship by investment and get their passport,Instead I use more time to stay into my mother country TANZANIA
Thank you Andrew for the update.😀
I ❤ Malaysia
Why would anyone want to park capital in a depreciating currency? I get that 250k is not that much for some people, but there are still opportunity costs. Especially over a 10-20 year period.
absolutely! your lump sum is going to begin depreciating overnight.
I concur. Depreciation plus lost opportunity cost investing it elsewhere.
Then wait until the currency at its lower bottom?
@@angcil88 so you are the one person in the world who can judge the bottom of the market?
Tell me most currency weakened against usd except singapore and brunei. Is that a temporary situation? It is playing catch up on interest rate differential.
How can i contract with you sir?
235K USD deposit plus 9K USD a month income?! LoL!
The 9K USD is more than the average annual per captia income in Malaysia?! Some bureaucrat is having a laugh?!
I much prefer the 30K USD for 20 years in Thailand! Just pay and forget about it!
That's just 1.5K USD per year to live hassle free with peace of mind in one of the most vibrant countries in S.E. Asia.
2:07 Why on earth would you want to live in Malaysia if you make 7 or 8 figures?!
thanks
I am happy to hear about this, and I looked at properties and they have a variety of real estate to buy that are so affordable compared to where I am in Norway. The only bad thing is animal immigration, and I only see a few countries like Sweden is exempt from a 7 day quarantine… I would love to bring my small dog but having a 7 day quarantine is too much.
I looked at the immigration website but I see Norway is on the list of the countries the animal needs a quarantine. Does anybody know this? If my dog can enter the country without this I am moving there… otherwise it is definitely a no.
If you married a local you can own land .
Screw Maylaysia's 20 year permit! Who would want 20 years. Why not life ?
What you really need to know how they treated foreigners in the covid situation , investigate that then make your decision.
They also know westerners are leaving there country by the droves ,so the have devised a hole new system.
The Elite Visa of Thailand gives you much more freedom though
request: a segment on Taiwan's residency programs (and its various tiers)
Do you really want to pursue residency in Taiwan to be dictated by Communist China on how to live? For god's sake please ignore Taiwan option.
the weather is terrible super hot and humid
no worry, can drive to the highlands of Malaysia like Genting, Cameron, Kundasang, Fraser's Hill, Maxwell Hill, etc where the weather is cooling and spring like temperature
Andrew...Thailand seems hell bent on attracting long term expat residents. They are copying the PVIP as much as possible and tweaking these premium visa programmes for the wealth based individuals. Malaysia still seems to be the leader currently in asia but there is now a strong competition between thailand and malaysia.
@@petersvideos2213 do you mean westerners are making less money than Hong Kongers and mainland Chinese these days?
@@petersvideos2213 I think it's the opposite.
@@petersvideos2213 I think they want to reduce visa holders from China and attract more Westeners.
@@petersvideos2213 Peter, I see you know thailand from years. I too was a backpacker in thailand back in early-mid 1990s. And yes, "they abused us" badly in all ways. I have always had a much more respect for Malaysia ever since. I wouldnt ever touch Thai banking or real estate. But I do have banking and real estate in Malaysia. I dont qualify for the uber rich MySecondHome. Most all the people I know that got Mm2h are wealth Chinese. Malaysia has large chinese-malay population.
❤ 🇲🇾
Any part of Malaysia that isn't hot and humid? I spent most of my life in the Deep South USA and had enough of that weather!
Europe may be a better fit then: Portugal, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, and more.
The highlands regions. Like Cameron Highlands.
I'm keen on Sabah
And aren't the requirements for their visa quite a bit less expensive?
when you say Saudi, do you mean UAE?
What happened after 20 years🎉🎉🎉🎉
They ask you to leave 😂

How many months of $9,000+ income donwe need before applying?
i like to be in malaysia, okay by me in malaysia, everything free in malaysia, for a small fee in malaysia. get titlted in asia.
Video suggestion...single man perspective. I'm 65 healthy, single, no kids, no close family. I recently started to think about a will. I don't really have any place for my assets to go. The state? I've also been researching other countries mostly for the adventure of living in a new place. I've never minded paying taxes, just look for value. Buying, leasing land is top of my list. Being single I have the option to marry a local which opens many immigration and land acquisition options. I'd find a video on options marriage can open.
Consider buying a house here in Kuala Lumpur maybe...😊
Ask ALLAH FOR HELP. ONLY ALLAH CAN HELP.
Go visit Malaysia. I'm sure you'll love it. I suggest KL, Penang, and Kuching to get s feel for different types of cities in the country.
You didn't say what country you're from, but it may be a good way to diversify your assets between multiple countries? 😁
Water bug,. I would suggest you look at Paraguay it's a landlocked country in South America and very low cost of living and everybody there loves Americans and it has international airport for travel I I am an American 65 years of age but happily married but for you the women in Paraguay are extremely beautiful very fit and very loving there is a Sheraton in downtown acusizion. Excuse Google's spelling
I agree
You've got a great DJT impression haha
Loving people 😂
The income requirement knocks me out of the running. As a retiree, I’m close to what they need, but its still a tad high for the vast majority. I guess they are targeting the HNW category.
I dont know why they set the bar so high on Income. There is only so much you can spend in a month even leading a luxurious life
I want to go in Malaysia
Did you really mean Saudi Arabia or UAE?
Saudi. UAE doesnt have permanent residency yet
Hey I have a VERY IMPORTANT Question. After getting Malaysia Nomad Visa. when i enter into the Malaysia, will i get residency permit too? or some proof/ID which shows i'm the temporary resident of that country?
It is the people who makes up a country. Check around and ask around about their culture, their views on morality, their religious beliefs, their understanding of mathematics, their social hierarchy, their preferential-and-special above the law types, their... their... their...
Malaysia is a superb place to live and work; I was there for two years once. BUT it is not safe for gay couples as homosexuality is illegal. This is something that might concern a libertarian like yourself, as well as some of your clients.
homosexual, heterosexual & any other sexual orientation only prohibited if you perform any sexual act or indecent act in public space. same rules & law in other countries.
Yeah, it's illegal if you doing PDA in public. Heck, even for heterosexuals is also illegal to do such things in public. Keep your sticky business inside your house then you're safe from the authorities.
Can you make a video where you discuss the latest IMF country reports of the countries you are discussing on your channel?
You presented Dubai but then started talking about Saudi Arabia. You are of course aware they are two very different Countries and I doubt that Saudi Arabia has any kind of residency programme. I for one, would not apply for residency in a strictly Islamic State like Saudi. Dubai is a different story. Although a Muslim Country it is tolerant of Westerners and Western culture.
No way they are dangerous and scary
Over 6000 usd monthly pensions. Sols all.
No assets..Nof qualified to live ther. Lol
Lol... if i have this much of amount in my bank i would better go to any western country and get a citizenship instead.
You can buy properties 1m ringgit and above.
Saudi? U mean Dubai?
Ok, better find my paradise spot in Penang before all gone....
