I think the dev added the reduced recoil control in an update a few months ago since hivemind is just too good. It's still very good now as they barely nerfed its ability so yea. Use it for a difficulty decrease for you and your allies.

how to make hivemind even more OP:
go in the corner next to the red container at the entrance (when you get in the base, the corner directly in the right)
put divide mode on
look at the other corner, in the left side when you get in the base
activate divide mode
congrats you now have a free pass for until wave 10
this perk works very well with sovregein and/or mindflayer because not only are you so lazy to let some bees do the job, other people do it now
sovregein is good because the bees will kill the cursed enemies for you and spread the virus and give u an army
mindflayer is good cuz self explainatory

Hivemind and Vagabond work together. Arbiter can also take in for the close-counter punch.
This happened to some and myself, both as Vagabond and Arbiter (Well because I can't longshot properly, I go berserk and do the frontline punch).
