At his age, already going to his second World Cup. He’ll be a springbok legend soon, credit to Dobson, Jacque and Rassie on his development plan. He was always going to be a star coming out of school, but they’ve made a real athlete who works hard to be the best. W elope you Gaza. 🇿🇦🔥🤞🏽
Excellent. Always had so much ability but its really come to fruition now. Love how instinctive he is, how he plays whats in front of him.Bamboozles defences, mammoth boot, beautiful passing game, rock solid defence. Love how the boks are not considered an attacking team yet possibly have the most lethal backs in the game.

Damian Willemse is an unbelievable 15. Just think about this for a moment: Damian Willemse is an amazing athlete, incredible defender, lightening quick, amazing stepping and footwork, with good IQ and he’s only 25. The IQ will only grow and he’s learning from the direct opposite of himself: Willie. Willie is slow, bad on defence and not a great athlete but has possibly the greatest rugby iq out of any full back on the planet. He calls all the plays, and creates multiple tries every game. Both of them are world class 15s in completely different ways. But Damian will mature and take away wisdom and knowledge from Willie over the next couple years and think of how amazing he’ll be in 6 or 7 years. He has the potential to become what Beauden Barret is today. Unbelievably intelligent and athletic. The quintessential full back. I think he’ll reach the potential and I genuinely think he could play for the next 10 years. He’s going to his second World Cup at early 25. as long as the coaching goes well and he learns from Willie and they *DONT PLAY HIM AT FLY HALF* After Willie retires or slows down in a couple years or even after the World Cup 4 years from now, he’ll only be 28 or 29 with at least 4 or 5 world class years in the tank. I’m so looking forward to watching him for the next 10 years.
This video made me appreciate Willemse just that little bit more
