Around May 2019 when the anime was on air the series had sold 6 million copies. But now it's at over 150 million copies which is insane. The power of that movie and Rengoku is strong. I think 86 has a very interesting character development and way better than SAO. I recommend to read the light novels and watch this anime. Don't worry about Bandai Namco Entertainment getting their hands on the game adaptation rights like they did with Naruto and SAO which Aniplex was producer of. They changed that with Kimetsu no Yaiba. They want to control everything now even if Bandai Spirits manufacture the toys who is completely independent from Bandai Namco.

Third season was basically two seasons in one. After three long seasons and two movies. Enough is enough. If Bandai Namco wants to milk more since they have the game adaptation rights since it was announced at Dengeki Bunko Festival in Nov 2011 give it to Sunrise. Aniplex will not allow them to use A-1 Pictures anymore nor will they allow them to use Sacra Music's anison artists. Sunrise produced Accel World so it will probably be them who will milk SAO. Glad the talents left and formed Bones so they could continue the essence of Sunrise's legacy. Anyway, read the light novel of 86. The story is really good. This anime is based on the light novel by Asato Asato. As I said before, SAO had a good run when Sony is looking into multimedia investment and Kimetsu no Yaiba and 86 are departuring from Bandai Namco's exclusive rights to the games. Aniplex was the producer of anime adaptation of Naruto. They gave it away to Bandai and then Bandai Namco with Ultimate Ninja Storm. Aniplex is currently producer of the anime adaptation of SAO. They gave it away to Bandai Namco. All your top shows are from Aniplex without people notice it. Without Aniplex, Bandai Namco wouldn't be where they are today.

But, yes, if I'd to describe its storyline in one word from everyone's perspective, then I'd say it's unique. You'd have never seen anything like this coming from Japan. If you're into these genres, you should give it a try: • Feels (not a genre, but still) • Sci-Fi • Romance (though it starts later on in the series) • Mecha • Military Fiction (the reason why I'm here) • Action • Drama • Supernatural (kinda, though not a big focus) Basically, it's got everything, every genre. And it gets only two types of results: • either the bad guy changes into a good one in just a second • or he comes back overpowered to bite back at the MC ... both of which piss me off.
Sawano's music screams glory and freedom in a war time story. Absolutely spectacular. He did it on Attack on Titan and he will do it again. This is a hidden gem. Love the darker color pallet. This is going to be a gem. I love mecha genre but add themes and symbolism in it will make it better.

補完が必要なんだろうなあと感じてたので、原作読んでみます。この作品は死生観がテーマだと思うので、原作ほうがさらに重厚なんだろうなあと期待。

わかる。一冊の出来のレベルがいろんなラノベと比較してあまりにも完璧すぎる
作者が一巻で物語としては完結していて、2巻以降は続編って公言してるぐらいだものね。因みに最初に一巻読んだときはまた別のエイティシックスたちが主人公になると思ってました.....全体通しても非常にハイレベルですが特に一巻の完成度は頭一つ抜けてますよね.....
他作品の話で悪いけど構成的にはSAOに近い部分があると思う
