ABOUT BAKE OFF:
The Great British Bake Off is the ultimate baking battle where passionate amateur baking fans compete to be crowned the UK’s Best Amateur Baker.
I love how proud of herself the girl who came 2nd was, nothing showy or proud, neither was there any false modesty. Just let herself enjoy the rewards she’d earned.
The days when the technical used to be really easy
Nothing was easy....only easy thing here is yourself.....
pegasusgalaxy68 ..... 😂 ?
@@pegasusgalaxy68 that isn't deep tbh
Oh I disagree a Victoria sandwich is so simple in its elements there’s is nowhere to hide!
@@alexandermorrall5981 no. It's easy to not mess up your cake. Just dont open the oven before its had chance to rise and got slightly brown. It wont sink then. Sponge recipes are easy too.
Making a Victoria sponge should be part of the British citizenship test.
😬💀
The British citizenship test is ridiculous as it is, so yes, they may aswell add this 😂
@@hannah.6259 This 🤣 I think it's so outdated and doesn't represent modern/current British life.
That raspberry is still missing in the intro😂
All such dignified people, love Great British Bake Off.
I would love to see these first episodes!!!
The voiceover is insanely annoying wtf? It's literally telling us everything that's happening, as if we're idiots. This must be a super old episode.
Code Red I think it's the first series!
I would say it would help blind people to see wots happening lol
It does say in the description "the first ever technical"
It’s the first ever technical
Yeah the first series was ROUGH
Interesting to see how the judging has evolved over the years.
Ah David, still a surprise he almost made it to the quarter final
I swear victoria sponges have jam and butter cream in the centre of it not only jam
Oh look Gordon Ramsay, apperantly you can have a culinary tv contest without yelling at everyone like an obnoxious arse
I thought there was supposed to be cream in a Victoria Sponge
I've never seen these bakers before. I'm in America. What season is this?
Mary same question for me. I've watched most of the series available but not this. The format is different on judging.
1st season, originally shown 2010.
This is the very first episode.
The lighting was different? Or somethin
Reccomended 2019?
But... It's supposed to have cream in the middle as well. I literally use Mary berrys recipe for this on a regular basis...
Not traditionally. The cream is a more recent addition.
Where is the buttercream?
How can u fuck up a Victoria sponge 😂
Its so wierd watching this now
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No raspberry jam!
Mary looks so different!!
Dear FutureMe it’s an earlier season. She glammed up as the seasons went on.
Isnt less sweet is good? But westerners just like sweet stuff.
tfw you're american and have never heard of a victoria sandwich
I feel that these judges are so wasteful. Taking little bites of the cakes.
And the both of them dug into them with their fingers is gross.
What, do you expect them to eat 9 whole cakes? And they have to judge the texture, it's a key part of a cake, specifically a Vicky sponge. Get a grip
haha the way they try not to smile when they get positive feedback at the start ahaha
Baked my first Victoria sandwich at age 14, years ago. Have enjoyed baking ever since!!!
Aileen Ncube I'm making my first Victoria Sandwich too (in school tho) but I'm only 13 💖 hope it comes out good
I think my first one must have been at age 6 with my grandma. She taught me how to bake and hasn't baked since. It's been 10 years lol.
That’s sweet 💖 I made my first when I was about 9...years later I never stop cooking/baking
i used to make a lot of victoria sponges with my mum when i was a kid- i probably started at the age of 5 round about
i was -200 when i baked my first cake
Has to be season one everyone looks so different! And the contestants do not look familiar at all! And I have watched all 6 seasons on Netflix.
Theres 10
It's Season 1
These seasons aren’t available on Netflix, I’ve looked. When I investigated it I was told that they were unavailable, even for purchase online.
It's not even on Netflix anymore 😩
I am not British, so it is not in my Netflix...
I wish we could get these on DVD.
Netflix has all seasons
Danny Garland it’s on Netflix
This particular season is not on Netflix
@@bratmamma it is now
Thank you for letting us know! Netflix💕
Mary looks older here than she does now!
And it looks like this is her natural hair. Meaning that big bouffant do she began wearing from around Season 3 onwards must be a wig.
Mary looked old when she was young. 😉
It was so different in the first series!
Lol you can tell they don't like David, they clapped so differently for him :(
Perhaps it was because they were all disappointed, that their name wasn't called? I have no idea, haven't watched a full episode, they aren't available in Germany.
thank for putting them online, otherwise it would be impossible for me to enjoy them as I ve done now! ( Holland, I live without money for tv so I can only watch through youtube, BBC)
I would put buttercream, jam and icing sugar when I make one xx
me too, but traditional I think is JUST jam, and sprinkled with caster sugar
I do that whenever I make mine
Jam and whipped cream then icing sugar on top
Laura Twinkle I do plain buttercream, mashed raspberries, then icing sugar on top it’s so yummy
Sounds lovely, but it's no Victoria Sponge 🤣
After the show do they just eat all there cakes
Emel Gül some are being eaten by crew and production team behind the camera and the rest is binned. (according to my former schoolmate, who's the producer of the Danish version of TGBB)
A little bit of everything what wast of cake what a pity
Emel Gül I totally agree 👍
No. After The Judges (mary & paul) then Supporting Cast (sue & mel) then The Entire Rest of The Crew Including Camera, Lighting, Sound Techs, etc!
The crew does
I’m binging on these videos, I need those carbs so badly.
I miss mary. Also I thought a Victoria sponge had cream in it.
Woah, but brutal to choose the bottom 3 at the end. Ouch haha
I made this but it really didn't do anything for me. I remade it without the all in one method, added vanilla, added black current jam and fresh cream. According to those that I served they liked this version on the video and the one I made the same.
Is that Mel? Omg look at that HAIR! Is this 10 years ago? It seems much more 2004 than 2010 lol
WHOSE THIS IMPOSTER COMMENTATOR
This was when the Bake Off was about the baking imo
Porque não voltar à ser apresentado aqui no Brasil??? O que é apresentado aqui é um desastre. Parece um circo.
É verdade. O daqui do Brasil é uma vergonha. Uma palhaçada, ninguém respeita o horário, eu não vejo mais.
Yummy🌸🌸🌸🌸
Be willing to bet all the people saying Victoria Sponges are easy probably make some really mediocre Victoria Sponges.
This is when it was abou finding thr best home Baker. It's gone a bit wild now.
I'm confused, can someone explain why these are not the contestants from S1of the show on Netflix
Netflix with Long running shows don't always get the whole show. So you've got season 1 out of all the seasons Netflix has bought.
How i can find the recipes ?
Please please please...let us here in the states see the real first three seasons...please.
Why does Paul have to be so rude and say mean comments to the home bakers
I guess this is where it all started... 😊😊
I'm 14 and I have made my first Victoria sponge and I put butter cream with jam for the filling and Icing sugar on top with sugar dusted onto it. I gave a slice to my boyfriends mom and I'm sure she loved it. My boyfriend is allergic to eggs so he can't have any. I gave him cookies instead. My boyfriend is Nigerian and his mom makes lovely Nigerian dough balls so to say thank you I share a bit of my culture and give her the classic British Victoria sandwich.
The bake off also has here in Brazil the reality arrived in brazil in 2015 pity that there will not be the 2020 season in case it’s pandemic I think
@2:14
*I AM CONCERNED ABOUT HIS EAR. SOMEONE TELL ME HE IS OKAY*
Ak P who ear?
@@dorismay4411 the man @2:14 in the video. His ear is all red. It is SO RED.
Ak P maybe Mary’s give him a slap around the ear
I see wot u mean
He's called David Chambers
best show on tv
Canvas by Imogen Heap in the background
Hellooooo, a perfect Victoria sponge, also comes with CREAM?????????????
The worst cake was still better than what i can do lol
Tbf if you can’t make a victoria sandwich then the Bake Off is not for you!
ITS A CAKE
Then make a sponge cake
Now make a Soufflé Shutterstock
I always hated how they not picked the food
woah hashtag throwback
No buttercream? A weird voiceover man? What is this?
Ikr where is the buttercream
Wow this was season 1
wheres the cream?
The only Good old days
Is it still exist?
Mmmmmmm
She looks young
That's Mery Bery
Why is this episode so unprofessional as compared to other series?
It seems a different show.
1st episode, season 1, 2010.
And I present the reason why I prefer newer bake off. Although it's nice to see the roots and how it's developed.
The *noise* when the judges eat I want to put my head through a wall 😫
Thank goodness Mary got far away from that dirty old bloke Hollywood.
I'll take him
Simpler challenge for a simpler time - pre channel 4, pre Covid, pre Brexit, pre Trump.
All that touching...ewww. couldn't.they have taken a small slice?
If you watch the later seasons on Netflix, that's what they do now. They take small slices to poke and prod.
