I can say this from experience just because a person smiles alot doesn't mean they are ok. I struggle every day w/ panic attacks , anxiety & depression & it's very hard it's not addressed as much as it needs 2 be. Chester u was a great inspiration dealing w/ yr pain. Gone but never forgotten.

I relate 2 what Chester said my mind is not a good place 2 be! I spent 6 days in mental ward I had a nervous breakdown I was cutting myself numerous times. i recently did again. If no Covid I probably would have went back. I love my son so much I have 2 live 4 him. I'm trying prayer cause I feel numb I relate 2 that song. Pills are a cover up. & u feel numb from them. I loved Chris Cornell 2 it blew my mind that they both committed suicide. Always think of your kids they are a inspiration In the dark times...

I speak for a lot of us when I say that when I heard of his passing , It was as if I knew him for years . For those who struggle with mental health, every day is a battle... a war going on in us that no one can see . I’m not afraid to say that I too , started to tear up as well . The pain is his voice Is all to real for many , many of us . The days pass and the sun sets for all of us and turns to night, but love , talent and joy he gave to so many is a light that will never go out . We love You Chester , untill we meet again my brother ❤️😞
We normally hear lyrics to a song and think someone threw them together because it would sell records or the audience could relate, etc. but when you see a tragic ending of someone's life and go back and listen to their music, only then can you realize that they weren't writing to make money, they weren't writing it because it was "in vogue", they were pouring out their heart and soul, and the music was their way of releasing it.
Shadow Of The Day simply tells the story of a man (songwriter) who is going through a very, very difficult period in his life. It seems that he is depressed and has serious problems (whether love problems, whether life problems). Sometimes the problem has a solution, but sometimes the problem is without a solution. The lyrics also describe that his life is always dark and difficult like the shadow of the day. Because the sun's rays always shine on people, while the songwriter is only between the dark sides (shadows) of the sun. So being alone (leaving the outside world) is the only option for him to escape from all these problems.

Chester's death was such an eye opening thing for me. I was depressed for so long, and had severe anxiety disorder. I finally got on Zoloft, and life is so much better. But there are still times where that cloud hangs over, it is always reminding you where you came from, and that it will never leave entirely.. When people say "He was rich, what did he have to be sad about?" This makes me feel sick.. how ignorant people can be, that man was suffering from a disease that was bigger than anything you could imagine. Thank you Chester, your music, your memory, has brought me through times to dark I couldn't even see any hope at all. I am better now, thanks to you, and the people around me. Somedays feel real rough, but thats why I come here and listen to your music, and feel humbled. Rest in Peace Chester

After losing my uncle and one of my best friends to suicide with in the span of five years, and then hearing of the loss of an artist that was and still is such a huge part of my own artistic influence, I finally decided to get treatment for my PTSD. We are not weak we are warriors in a constant struggle for our own peace. I'm happy for you and I hope you continue to do well. You don't have to fight alone. None of us do.
You aren't the only one that battles that demon. Some days it tries creeping back in. You're not alone. Stay strong my friend.

Chester lived among the hearts of million of his fans and he will be living forever. The stardom has no end. The eternal darkness could never turnish his legacy. Chester will remain as the polar star in the sky, who will be leading human being through the unforgiving darkness of life and help them to overcome by the songs he left behind. But the sad part is he helped million to get their life back, but million could not help him to get his life back.

It's coming up the second Christmas since my mum passed. She always listened to George Michaels "dont let the sun go down on me". I've loved LP since I was 10, I'm 25 now, and these lyrics hit so fn hard.
