john98765333 Actually it’s the republican held legislator that refused to offer her a new revenue package after they rejected hers. She pumped about $3.5B in one time bonded funds into the road program but it’s the legislature that controls the long term spending and approves allocation shifts to agencies such as MDOT

Realistically, most states would receive very few or even zero visits from candidates. It’d probably be Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and New Hampshire getting most of the visits in 2020. The others would essentially be wasted funds as they’re unlikely to flip.

Get every ideology you can that doesn’t raise you’re opponent enthusiasm by over 1%
And then play em ASAP
And then while it’s still early
Make plays for these states you wanna catch
For a Democrat: put something in Alaska, it’s not big but if you stack it right and play the right issues, 3 easy electoral votes and in close elections thats life or death
Put something in Missouri, 10 electoral votes never hurt
Tennessee and Kentucky with that
And Mississippi
And then for a Republican
Play for Oregon, Vermont, Washington, Connecticut, and Maine
Also you forgot the swing states of the game in Georgia, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado and Virginia

NikeT tbf the game has released with barley any pre made characters, so many people are missing compared to the older games
The earlier versions had more characters and features. This one seams a step back from previose versions.

He finally won the last time because he won Ohio, which he failed to get every other time. Ohio and Florida are the most important swing states in modern elections.
That was true in 2012, but Ohio is very firmly red these days. And I am an Ohioan.

I can confirm it is possible to flip a state in this game it's just that it takes a lot of money and you have to send your VP and a bunch of people to spend time in the state to flip the vote over

Contesting red states was the problem with most of these games. By abandoning Florida in the last game and focusing more effort in other swing states was what gave Alex the W. This is the reason why candidates tend to campaign in medium-sized states and not worry much about contesting big states like New York, Texas, and California. Florida gets a lot of buzz in the news as a swing state, but generally speaking, candidates don't spend much money there because it's big and expensive to run a campaign there. It's probably why it swings wildly in the first place because they always let wins in Florida up to chance.

In the United States seats in Congress and presidential votes are different
by the way the place you start in could help you alot. you can switch a State like the Dakotas who usually go red by alot to Blue just by being born in one of them.
The reason this game is low rated is because they release one of those every election and they make little to no progress in game design, and sell each of them full price. It's a fun game, but you don't need the latest edition. Although they seem to have added a bit more to this version

I can't say for the game, but at least in real life it is looking like it will only be a couple election cycles before Texas becomes a swing state. Texas has increased in Democrat support by 20% since 2000, due to the growing diversity the state has. So yes, it may become more and more worthwhile for Democrats to focus more attention on Texas in the near future. As for california, I agree that the Republicans won't have a shot there for a long time.
