  • Hello and Welcome to today's Flight Review!
    Today we will be flying onboard a United Airlines Boeing 787 8 Dreamliner From Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) To Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
    also this is the first flight review of this route on TH-cam :)
    Flight Info:
    Airline: United
    Airplane: Boeing 787 8 Dreamliner
    Flight Time: 11hr 5min
    Seat: 47L
    Plane Registration: N27903
    Flight: UA73 From Tel Aviv To Washington DC (TLV To IAD)
    We Had An 8 Hour Delay So The Original Flight Timings Changed
    Scheduled Departure Time:
    12:20am
    Actual Departure Time:
    8:40am
    Scheduled Arrival Time:
    5:30am
    Actual Arrival Time:
    1:15pm
    Time Of Year The Flight Was Taken: June 2022
    Rating of Flight: 8/10
    It Was A Great Flight Unfortunately Because Of The 8 Hour Delay A Point Will Be Removed Because This Delay Was Caused By A Technical Issue Originally However United Switched The Defective Plane 3 Times And Had Over A Day To Reverse The Delay But They Didn't.
    Without the delay this flight would easily get a 9/10
    And They Lose Another Point Because Of How Cramped Together Their Economy Section Is Which Makes Sitting For Long Periods Extremely Uncomfortable
    Aside From This The Flight Was Great The Food Was Average And The IFE Had A Large Variety Of Content And The 787 8 Is A Great Plane so overall it was a great Flight
    and I highly recommend people who are taking connection flights From and To Israel to take this flight over New York IAD flies to nearly all the same destinations as The new York airports but its a much smaller and more calm Airport than the New York airports and there are less delays and getting around at IAD is much quicker than JFK or EWR

    A very nice trip report! I've only been to Dulles airport once but went through immigration around lunchtime & took literally seconds no queue at all! So I've always had a very favorable opinion of that airport😂

    Very nice! I have been there many times because my daughter lives in Israel. I usually go with El Al (747,777,787), United (777), and Delta (747) in past years. They’re all terrible in Economy because they squeeze too many passengers!

      @@wotan10950 well it's more convenient for you to use the new York airports if you live in that area so I understand you but still I hope you enjoyed this flight review of a less known Israel To America route!

    Very good job. I will be taking this flight in early Sep. on my return trip from TLV. When I go I fly through EWR. How nice the airport looks. The last time I flew to Israel was in 1972 through the old terminal building when the airport was just called Lod airport. There had been a terrorist attack before when some Japanese shot and killed some travelers in the terminal. You could still see bullet holes in the walls.

      Thanks For The Feedback And Glad You Enjoyed The Video!
      To get to little Rock or Texarkana from tel aviv you'd have to fly to one of the major cities that has flights to tel aviv such as Miami Washington DC New York Los Angeles ETC and then take a connecting flight to Little Rock Or Texarkana
      Hope I helped :)

    Curious as to what’s with the windows at the gate, I’ve noticed this on other flight reviews from TLV. Great trip review, thanks for sharing.

    • @rbspotter
      @rbspotter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you enjoyed :) the windows have those dots to prevent excessive heat from entering the terminal and to prevent people from photographing planes

    When was the video posted. Was it a full flight? I know with COVID, there are restrictions.

      @rbspotter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Video Was posted a few days after I took this flight and I took the flight in June 2022 so after most covid restrictions were taken down and the flight was supposed to be full but it was half full in the end due to an 8 hour delay

    How many hours in advance did you have to arrive at the airport? I am hearing that TLV is a zoo and people have to arrive there like 4 hours in advance.

    • @rbspotter
      @rbspotter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I arrived 4 hours in advance because I got the message that the flight was delayed the night before. Some people there were waiting at TLV for 12+ hours because they didn't get the delay message and yes TLV in general is a zoo because they have a lack of workers and almost all the flights there get delayed these days. Hope I helped :)

    • @rbspotter

      Both tourists and natives. I've flown this route quite often and some flights were mostly tourists while other flights were mostly native israelis who lived in the DC area/other parts of the USA and are flying home to israel for a visit
