- Canada's newest helicopter, the CH-148 Cyclone, performs a capabilities and Search and Rescue Demonstration at the 2022 Cold Lake Airshow. The CH-148 is a variant of the Sikorsky S-92 that serves as a naval helicopter. It can be equipped for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), maritime search and rescue (SAR), as well as a variety of other missions.
This was my first time being able to take video of a full demonstration by the CH-148!

No it's not.
Nice video! Impressive display for only two 27 HP engines! :^)
Haha I caught that too! Probably meant 27 hundred HP.
Thank you for the great description. Great job.👍 As always.
Thank you!
I always see this puppy flying over the ships in Halifax. I wave every time :D
Nice! I don't get them inland. Only at airshows, so it's nice to see them perform.
Very interesting. That Helicopter is huge. That's a lot of serious. capabilities. Wow.... Love the search and rescue part.
Ya, it's a big one! In Abbotsford next week, the Cyclone and a CH-149 Cormorant (another big helo) will be sharing the SAR demo responsibilities. Looking forward to that!
@@EricksonAviationMedia looking forward to it. I got you on my Facebook page and I'm on Facebook all the time so Usually I get your post right away. I was trying to follow you on Instagram. I'm not sure if. If I am or not. I'm new to Instagram so I'm not sure how to navigate. In it

WHY IS THERE NO NOSE GEAR DOOR 😂😂😂
Couldn't tell you! 😄
why add the weight? Its not a jet.
@@avroarchitect1793 fair point. I’m more worried about aerial debris and the back draft under the nose
@@russian244 it worse than that, this RCN’s new ASW helicopter, which means that wheel would be exposed to the elements and salt water. I think the lack of nose door might be because of the sensors in the nose of the aircraft but that just a guess.
@@Kishanth.J it is just not needed. It does get a lot of sea spray but the aircraft undergoes very strict corrosion controls to prevent rust.
