I've recently found out that you have a slightly better chance of surviving if you aim for the windows using the DshK machine gun for armoured trucks, damage is reduced on the occupants but it's better than shooting the engine where the C4's are.
The armored windows are too angled for a 12.7 to go through. You're better off sending it through the engine block as the armor is minimally angled and the engine is a small 10mm that doesn't really cover players at all. If fish is smart, they'll mount the c4 under the hood and out of the way of the MG fire.
