I was in a toxic marriage but I always closed my eyes for everything that was going on or everthing he was doing behind my back always making excuses for him. Until my son, 16 at that time, said to me: Mom please leave dad, choose you! That made me decide to leave him and take the kids with me. Staying together because of them or because of what family and friends might think is the worst reason to stay. I sat my kids down after the divorce and told them: It's the 3 of us, we're a team and we're gonna get through this together. My son answered: yes we're like the 3 musketeers, mom. Both my son and daughter turned out great, it wasn't easy but it was the best and hardest decission ever.
