A Message from DREW EVANS and the reason

It hasn't always been easy. Some days are high, many days are low. I love this shit tho. It changed my life forever.
One of these days someone will care, at least today I can speak for myself.
This is for my tribe, for my team, for my neighborhood. For everyone who helped me along the way.
I wonder what would have been if Bailey never asked me to work with him and Taz or if Deano never told me he made six figures from his dorm room? Shit, what if Big S never took me overseas?
I was sitting on the porch when he told me I could continue doing the same thing or I could take a chance on myself.
What if David never said call it Homme Femme instead of Homme Boy. What if me and David remained partners? He is a natural artist and l'm a born businessman. Where could we really be?
What if I stayed at TISA and never had the urge to prove my creativity?
David Sabastian and I created the first Homme Femme pieces on his laptop at a Starbucks in Torrance. I had an idea to do high fashion jerseys and he put his artistic magic to work. Shit, he pushed me to do the brand.
Sometimes I wish we could go back. We could've been so much bigger together.
I wonder if it still would've popped if Teyana Taylor didn't put the sweaters on her IG. Going viral in 2013, from nothing to something instantly. Would Homme Femme be here? If Jeezy never wore it on Jimmy Kimmel would Chanel have noticed?
Who would've thought a kid from Compton and
West LA made that.
If a kid from Compton with no fashion training could make a collection, what would it be? Shit, where would we be without the Toronto Kid who
made our next hit, the triple layer shirt?
Would I have been able to sustain the growth if Scott and Larry didn't help me with distribution?
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I grew up in New York. Would I have been
noticed if I hung out in soho?
I do wonder if I would've been up next if I was a blog darling. I never was a blog favorite, I was in
my own world making clothes.
There are so many important moments, people and instances where things could have turned.
I've spent 1/3 of my adult life in fashion.
I wouldn't change anything because much like
you reading, I'm still an underdog.
Homme Femme represents you, man or woman, ambitious, always evolving and wanting to be
great.
There's too much history to even fit on these
walls.
In that coffin is my blood, sweat, and tears. It's the perception of what we are and the perception
of what we aren't.
THE PAST IS IN THERE. THE FUTURE IS NOW.
