No turning vane in the tee on the plenum box. No duct seal on the joints or insulation. Must be exposed or conditioned space. They dovetailed the 90's instead of using a boot tap.
Sean Vandyke when it's done properly you don't need to can tape it the two companies I work for never used one one roll of 10 tape this other company I work for they loved it cuz I didn't know how to install how to install
Taping or painting it with duct sealer is very good, we do it in all jobs in the Commercial Industry along with Insulating it the cost an time is well worth it in the long time

The same thing can be said about your "Main Trunk" Air is leaking out...therefore the Efficiency of your HVAC goes down. IT is blowing heat where it is not needed. They should have sealed all connections with mastic or tape, loose a large amount of air in those joints. Loose a ton of your efficiency with all those unsealed connections
Install looks neat but so many issues with it. No volume control, no turning vanes, duct looks really cheap and flimsy, no sealant. And why dont you believe in mez frame connections?
Listen, I've been in the heating and cooling industry for the better part of twenty plus years. One of the biggest pieces of advice I can offer to other professional contractors is to leave a massive dump in a 90° bend. There is no better way to assert your dominance.
My friend is a retired home builder who used to build large custom homes. He told me that one of his customers had just moved into their new home and was complaining about odors in the second floor bedrooms. He went up into the attic and searched for the source of the odor. He was expecting to find a dead animal but he found that one of his construction crew had taken a huge dump in the attic insulation.

See it alot, causing condensation to run off the ductwork and mold to grow. Buthers try to use Spray foam on ductwork which in most states can't be used to Insulate ductwork period. Beside there is plenty of moisture in the air flowing in your ductwork that will cause mold growth from improperly sealed ductwork where it can escape spray foam or not. Doesn't take a high percentage of moisture in the air supply to cause mold problems. Hence it is a billion dollar a year industry using dry ice to remove mold from roof sheeting because of leaking ductwork Also how tight the ductwork sits there is zero chance in hell they are getting 100% of all that ductwork covered.
I’m sure they sealed and insulated the duct afterward. They just wanted to show of the sheet metal job. This is how systems used to be installed in the 60’s. My father was a contractor, and the heating systems were are rectangular trunk lines with round and square take offs where necessary. I don’t remember seeing any mastic or insulation back then, but the ductwork looked just like this. Anyone who uses flex for an entire system is not a pro, just a amateur HACK
True craftsmanship in the old days in sheet metal work. Awed by the skills of the old timers with all the compound reducing tees and ells. Not to mention no flex. All rigid.

Rounded ducts are more efficient, why are all these rectangular?
The main ducts on the supply and exhaust are rectangular for correct volume and static pressure while the side duct runs are round.
