Can’t believe I saw a whole video about cobble classic bikes without mention of the Cervelo Rseries. This bike has won multiple Paris Roubaix’s, and has a place in almost every multi surface riders garage around the world.
Well-crafted video but this is a whole heck of a lot of marketing hype. None of us ride Paris Roubaix and a few of us ride in conditions anywhere near that. If we do we ride mountain bikes. I love the history of the event, and I hope it continues for many years to come, but the cycling industry needs a change.
The photo at 3:12 of Phil Anderson on a extra long wheelbase/slack seat angle bike was because he had a back injury before the race, and he needed a bike that was more comfortable. PS. back in the 80's, Vittoria CG Pave tubulars were available in massive 25mm and 27mm sizes, for races like this.
Sure, we may never see a bike like Bianchi's full-suspension with its snapped chain stays, but the brand seems committed to continuing the tradition of fitting its bikes with fragile components 🤣
How have you not talked about the aerobike of Mathew Hayman? That changed the opinion of aerobikes as purely speed machines to also capable all day bikes. In my opinion thats more influentiel than Lizzie Deignans Domane
After all these years riders getting softer..., but i welcome all these updgrades, and comfy features, but they all cost a fortune..., for me the passive (dont have any moving parts) features are welcome, like the Gt GRADE felxi stay tube.
Sam is one of the best TH-cam presenters. His clear and concise videos are well scripted and crisply narrated.
all that suspension on 23c tires lol. loved the video.
Great history lesson very enjoyable 👍🤩🏅❤️🔥
My favorite race of the year.

Very interesting review.
I think adjustable tire pressure might be in the future. Run 32's at low pressure over the cobbles and at high pressure over bitumen.
Interesting history.

It's not Phil, it's Steve Bauer. And nothing to do with his back.

Should have a race using the gravel bikes.
You won’t find many pros running 28’s on the front for aero reasons. 28 rear/25 front seems to be the compromise they’re making.

in fact Tafi won a roubaix on the 23mm...
ISO was a miss..
Absolute bullshit. Wider tires adjusted for air drop have no difference whatsoever in rolling resistance and lose 3-5w in aero. Total lies.
