Hey Duane, thanks so much for these informative videos. Your channel is 10/10. What book/manual is shown @ 6:46? Any recommended reading or other resources or books for an eager apprentice?
Hi Marc, The book that you are inquiring about is a textbook from the union apprenticeship program in level one and only available to union apprentices. We teach a mixture of union and nonunion sheet-metal workers in our classrooms, we use various textbooks but from my experience you should be looking for books from the following two two authors Leo A Meyer(Sheet Metal 2 edition) and Richard S Budzik (Today’s 40 most frequently used fittings)
Before TDC and DuctMate connections became popular, guessing before your time. I bet you will someday come across a demolishing job that will have em. Heads up! They’re tough to take apart.
I guess I did, It’s very difficult to show every type of connector when I don’t have experience working with ‘em, sorry. But, Im happy that you took the time to comment, for me and other channel followers.

Thank you! Comments like yours give me the encouragement to make a few more. 👍
Which model Ductmate cleat was used in the installation demonstration? Can it also be used on a TDC/TDF or is it only used for the Ductmate flange?
Ductmate 25 is what i used, It means the ductmate width is 25mm or 1”. The corners do the same function, but are different.
WHAT ABOUT DUCTMATE CONNECTORS ?
I mention and demo Ductmate at minute 5:25 of the video.
S cleats 1inch shorter than duct size
Drive cleats 2incg longer than duct size
That’s my preference, but some may use a slightly longer S.
S cleats always install long side of the duct.
Drive cleats always install short side of ducf
Yes, Most of the time 👍🏻
Forgot dura flange and tdfs
