My loss that I wasn't a bigger fan of theirs back then. He's such a great guy! On the other hand, I WAS a big fan of the British Bulldogs and I really wish I wasn't as much now. All I've ever heard about Dynamite Kid is that he was kind of a horrible human being. Ouch. Nice legacy to leave the world there buddy.
Same. I was never a fan of the Rougeaus esp. in the WWF. And Dynamite Kid esp. was Top 5 my favorite wrestler. But all my respect go to the Rougeaus. Seems like stand-up guys. And since then I went back to watch their matches in the WWF and I was pretty impressed. They were pretty good.
It's funny, I was a huge British Bulldogs fan as a kid and I hated the Rougeau Brothers but I love hearing about Jacques Rougeau beating up Dynamite Kid. Dynamite deserved it. Ray seems like a cool guy.
How can you justify a cheap shot with a weapon. Facts are regardless who it was.. Someone else, caused trouble.. one guy dealt with said trouble the other guy plotted with his brother to cheap shot. He says about you should be respected... hitting someone blindside doesn't deserve respect. REGARDLESS who is on the receiving end. Ray was relatively tough though.
@@craigdavis5818 Dynamite cheap shoted Jacques too. Eye for an eye. Plus it really wasn't a weapon. He didn't hit him directly with the roll of quarters. The roll of quarters was underneath his hand.
@@AceGoodheart wasn't a weapon? So what do you call it then? So if I wrap a baseball bat in tin foil it's not a weapon anymore? @@craigdavis5818 you've never been in a real fight and it shows. When its real, its never about if its fair. Its about who ends it. Also, with all the steroids that little man was injecting himself with, his whole body was a weapon. I had a bully in high school. He would trip me up on the stairs, sucker punch me, and even tried to stab me with a pencil. Now eventually I delt with it, the school system wasn't on my side, let's leave it at that. He tried to sucker punch me one day, and after all was said and done, he had a broken orbital bone, ruptured ear drum, shattered nose, and he lapsed into a coma for almost a month. Of course I was gone from the school, had to have homeschooling until I was able to plead my case and be transferred to another school. The worst part of all this.. I became a bully myself for a time. I enjoyed hurting the guy who hurt me so much, I started hurting others. Until I found myself staring down a kid in the eyes. Finally, I woke up out of that horrible phase. Dynamite was a miserable person, thus he took it out on others. Exactly how I did, it took a lot of soul searching to change the terror in my heart to something with meaning.
Raymond Rougeau, a class act as always. I met him once in Old Montreal back in the mid 902's before a boxing match with the late great Owen Hart, he was real cool to talk to a very young man and always a class act.

Wednesday,10/5/1988 ( WWF ) Fort Wayne, Indiana: Allen County Memorial Coliseum (WWF Superstars of Wrestling TV Taping # 37 ) Backstage Cafeteria Hall: Jacques Rougeau knocks out British Bulldog'Dynamite Kid's 4 teeth. Jacques Rougeau Revenge !!!!
Ray rougeau is a legit straight up guy can more than hold his own against most people. Not in the class of Rick rude or haku but Ray could definitely defend himself if it came to it
Well he didn’t. Instead he trained his brother every night to sucker punch a guy with a weapon. Cowardly slimy weasels. And when dynamite didn’t go down but spit out blood and teeth and started to come at them, they both RAN. They admitted that years and years ago in early shoots but now leave that part out. Absolute coward. Dynamite was a scumbag but at least in a fight he came right at you and wanted you to man-up and face him. This is actually the most pathetic story of all time in wrestling fights - and people amazingly worship the rougeaus as if they really did something good. Patron saints of pathetic cowards is what they are.
Dynamite used to do these diving head butts the same ones that Chris Benoit emulated. He was likely to have the same kind of brain damage from repeated concussions.
The Stampede traveling was just as bad, if not worse. Driving to spaced out towns, in frigid ass weather, in a small, cramped up van. Sounds like misery.
They are both dead so I can make up fairy tales, his brother sucker punched Dynamite the a roll of quarters in his hand, he did knock out four of his teeth but Dynamite stayed firmly on two feet, the Bulldogs left to go to Japan. Even Bret Hart says Dynamite one of the best and toughest wrestlers he ever met.
You left out Dyjamite sucker punching Jacques first, son. And Dynamite himself says in his book he had to brace himself up against the wall to keep from going down.
Braging about a cheap shot. Ya really big man there. Rougeau brothers should have called it outside, squared off like real men, and gave dynamite and davey a far shot at a real fight. It would have been a different story then. But a cheap shot was the only was they could catch dynamite off guard. They even planned it out like cowards.
You mean like how Dynamite attacked Jacques from behind? Lol. Ray and their dad were real tough guys, not big ego boys trying to do aome bullshit "fair fight" in a street fight situation. You fucked with them, and thry were going to hurt you.
i get your point , but you get attacked from behind, broken jaw, couldn't talk for a month, eat thru a straw, thought about leaving wrestling, got depressed, and his Dad, who was one of the toughest man in Canada, told him to do it like that, coward shot for a coward shot
Its so funny how every1 is defending the Rougeaus for what they did. The injure happened in a match & not outside of it. So, what happened was dumb & unfair to Dynamite. If they did something like this today, then he would of been arrested, fired & blackballed from wrestling. It be his own fault, too. There's no receipts, they just wanted the Bulldogs out of the WWE, so they could get a chance at the Tag Titles. Which is funny cause they never won the Tag Titles until Jacque became the Mountie & tagged with Pierre. So, what did it actually do for the Rougeaus. Obviously, nothing; they were jobbers at the time & never were anything more, that's why Vince kept them there. Just looked it up & they won the Tag Titles then lost them the next day, that's cause jobbers don't win titles they are there to put other teams over. If they didn't like it then they should of left. I've also watched their matches, they seemed to just go thru the motions & I wasn't impressed or entertained by them. Plus, if I was Dynamite I would of quit also. Getting an injure you can heal from is 1 thing, but having 4 teeth knocked out is something different, plus with his head injures he had, I bet that didn't help him out either. How you explained to your kids why you have 4 missing teeths. That's my opinion.
Why did Rougeau have to give a receipt in the first place? It was because Dynamite walked up from behind, and unannounced, and hit Rougeaus hard enough to knock him off his chair. He proceeded to hit him again and again. Rougeaus had the snot beat out of him and was then mocked mercilessly by Dynamite. So you think Rougeau owed Dynamite more respect than he was given? Besides everyone, including Jacques knew that Dynamite would kill him in a fair fight. What happened was fair and asked for. Rougeau not being a fighter showed a lot of courage and character responding to a notorious bully
absolute quality content, i really enjoyed this interview. Ray seems like a good guy

There were a lot of shit disturbers in wrestling. Like punks in high school. They like to watch fights but not participate. Just stir the pot!
Unless you have a brother, you wouldn’t understand.
There should of been a steel cage match between The Rougeaus & The British Bulldogs!
Steve fall talking to the legend Raymond rougeau 🎤🦾🦾
Is it just me or does Ray look like Bob Odenkirk aka Saul Goodman 🤣🤣
I was gonna say. Curt was just helping a friend. Dynamite started this by talking smack on Jacque
No he was a sh*t disturber

Actually, he is in the same class as them.
The same Rick Rude that got easily outwrestled by *Erik Watts*? These things are all relative. Every dog has his day, just like Ray said here.

@@XARIER39 maybe not Haku! cause Haku was huge.
@@datacipherRaymond did absolutely nothing in the altercation as he was injured, also Dynamite hit Jacques from behind when he attacked him.
I've got no sympathy for Dynamite Kid....
He was a dirt bag
I think Dynamite was simply over the crazy traveling and hectic road schedules that made him want to leave the WWF. Not the losing face aspect.
Dynamite used to do these diving head butts the same ones that Chris Benoit emulated. He was likely to have the same kind of brain damage from repeated concussions.
Two words, fragile ego

Great story!
Davy Boy cheap shotted Ray do he cheap shotted him back . Even Steven !
How many new details can there possibly be at this point. Jaque has made a career out of talking about this story. Still a great comeback
Someone should do a movie on this
Is that your real voice???
Ray sure reminds me of Mad Dog. He sure looks more and more like him as he gets older.
I wonder what would have happened between Raymond and Dynamite. How they would have matched up.
The travel and being over worked, the CTE, steroid abuse, drinking and using other drugs, along with the ego and little man syndrome. Terrible mix.
He literally lost face
You on helium??
