literally just bought a murray 22" self prop. used it twice and it stopped propelling, what's most likely wrong with such little use? i can't seem to diagnose it myself. is there supposed to be a visable belt by the blade? i don't see one if so.

@@hunterdehart3655 I have made a decision to get rid of this thing and just be done with it and just use a new lawn mower until I get a self-propelling new one. The weld is broken that holds the cable thing to the underside of the deck and I'm not going to even try to mess with it
I replaced the snapped cable and it now seems to lack power in the wheels. If I lift the mower at the back, the wheels spin with self propel engaged, but as soon as the wheels are on the ground the wheels stop spinning. Wonder if it's the belt although it seems to be spinning OK . . .
I own a front wheel propelled Craftsman lawnmower that does not propel well and the pulley on top of the transmission sometimes does not want to turn and I hear a squealing sound. What would the problem be?
Worn down gears on the inside of the wheels would be my guess. They are made of plastic and the metal gear that propels usually can't grip when they get worn down.
My John Deere 14SZ propulsion quit suddenly. It has gears on the wheels which turn sporadically. When I put the wheels back on , wheels do not move at all. Belt looks good. Anyone know the problem?
So My transmission engages and turns the wheels but only if I lift the back end of the mower up and engage the self propel system. When i set it back down and engage the system it doesn't move. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. I have Honda GSV190 mower.
@@marroglem1509 you may need to tighten the control cable for the self propel system. Should be a cylinder on the cable near the leaver that you can loosen or tighten.
hi .did you ever get your problem solved .my mower is the same .the cables ok the belt has been replaced. the teeth inside the wheels are ok.ive decided I'm just going to change the gear box because everything seems to be ok .
@@bc-mr1si Hey, mine ended up being the small adjustable piece that’s inline with the cable. I tightened that a bit and noticed a slight improvement in performance. I simply adjusted it until I got the desired results. It must have rattled loose over time as I used this mower frequently throughout the time I had it.

So if the transmission pulley DOESN'T spin, then it is more than likely the wheels or what would your take be on that?
I have a craftsman all wheel drive with broken belt, does it use same size belt?

My mower goes 2 or 3 feet and cuts out. What should I look for? It is electric and has a battery. The blades spin fine, only issue is the propulsion.

Did you figure this out? If it happened that suddenly and when the mower was new, I'm going to guess that the belt hopped off its pulley.

trans lever cable attatched to is very difficult lever to move by hand springs back fine just pushing it is hard??? wont engage wheels
Self propelled work when activated but when I set back down to wear the wheels have weight on them they want turn is something worn out ????? Help
When I pull the propel bar the cable pulls fine but the wheels won't move and if I hold the bar and push it's harder to push like the wheels lock up.

also I can remember when I first got the mower it would just about pull you of your feet ,now the power is just not there .

How about just show people how to adjust cable and not spend money???
I was able to make a knot on it the first time and made it tighter.
