Jim Colosimo’s business mindset would see him start as a street sweeper
to then running nearly 200 locations in Chicago’s red light district alongside his wife Victoria Moresco.
Known as Big Jim for his size and also Diamond Jim for his flashy style. This would however see him attract unwanted attention from dangerous gangsters, where threats to his business empire would be dealt with by Johnny Torrio, a rising gangster who was also related to Colosimo’s wife.
Jim Colosimo’s luck would soon run out in the end though after refusing to let his crew get into the alcohol bootlegging business during prohibition, and divorcing his wife for a younger woman, which would see Johnny Torrio orchestrate Jim Colosimo’s murder.
So what was life like for one of histories leading gangsters?
