    I think if you had put pellets in instead of dry firing the differences would of worked better, that is what it's designed for 👍👍

    Tone difference more apparent than noise difference. I actually would like to see the dB meter test, I am familiar with acoustic energy and the +3 is 2x.

    It’s so tough to tell on this how much difference it makes. But honestly I’ve used some donnyfl and I’ve been impressed. I wish they were lighter, but I’ve had good luck.

    Sounds pretty much the same. A pellet is needed to make a moderator work. Otherwise air just rushed out.

    Also outside there are fewer reflective surfaces as well so the perception of sound will be less, a bit like shooting in snow or not shooting in snow.

  • @KevinWood44
    @KevinWood44 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Kind of sounds the same outside. Noticeable diff indoors of course but the OEM can would make a big difference too.
    Ive seen it compared to the Ronin and without any mod and its close to the Ronin but not as quiet, which is expected. I'd say this is on par w the Tatsu.
    Biggest selling point here is the ability to use any caliber, not so much sound

    Speaking as a heavily built chap myself I'm choosing to take it as a compliment that Donny couldn't think of anything on Earth better than a fat boy to name it after. That's what I'm going to tell myself anyway. Take it easy Donnie and enjoy the holidays.

    Love your sense of humor! Yeah ur right re the db. Like a 10db drop can be quite a lot when it comes to human hearing.

    Donnie, Yea it looks good, but can you comment on how this fits into the DonnyFL line? Is it in between the Sumo and Ronin in sound suppression or is there something special about the "fat" design that makes it even more quiet. I'm looking for stealth more than looks.

    i don`t hear a big difference .a moderator needs volume .,to bring down the pressure beforethe air got`s out .a fat moderator you see it in the scope .
    thats why some are build with a asymmetric bullet tunnel ,not in the center

    No significant improvement in my opinion, all it done was eliminate the echo of the sound, though was barley any difference. Certainly not worth the money. I could make a quieter silencer myself. Thanks for the review though as it's helped prevent myself from purchasing a Donny FL Fat Boy.

  • @donpeer4477

    Which one is right? If I'm using a .22, do I use the first one or second one? And if I'm shooting .25, the second or third one? confusing...

    • @BakerAirguns
      @BakerAirguns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The objective is to use the smallest one you can as long as it doesn't clip pellets. If it DOES clip pellets....move to the larger size.

    There is hardly any sound reduction between no mod and Fat boy, sounds very very similar. Don’t Waste your money.

    My fatboy 2.0 arrived today. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. It's very loud compared to even the little tanto. My tatsu, tanto, and sumo are FAR quieter than the fatboy 2.0. I feel ripped off.

    • @magnumopus1628
      @magnumopus1628 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I sa similar reviews about it, both in the US and here in Europe too. I was looking for a compact but efficient moderator but I think I'll go for a Tatsu. I hope you managed to send it back and ask a refund.
