Ok full disclosure... I'm an American and my new favorite band group is AnnenMayKantereit... a German boy band... I've just discovered. Like you I'm blown away by Henning May's soulful, powerful, soul shaking voice...so much that i'm pretty sure I've listened to every YT reaction I can find on this song "Tom's Diner" and I can say with confidence you two have created the "BEST" reaction ever to this song on any part of YT.... Taylor your completely "gobsmacked" stunned expressions had me laughing and crying real time with you two every second of your video....damn well done folks!!
Thank you so very much! This comment made us so happy!! We’re glad that you not only enjoyed our reaction, but that you enjoy the band so much! They are incredible and deserve so much recognition! ♥️
Frederik Rabe (Giant Rooks), the first singer in this video was 23 years old, when they recorded this. Henning May (AnnenMayKantereit), the second singer with the raspy voice, was 27 when they recorded this in 2019. And they are allowed to drink beer since they were 16 years old because they live in Germany.
Frederik and Henning are such a great combination, but don’t forget about the instruments. They are well known here in Germany, but I am glad foreigners recognize them as well 👍
AMK is notorious for shooting these style video’s in one take with instrumentation and vocals live, just like you see it. Your reactions are refreshing. So many reactors try to get overly technical, and at times that is fine. However, this song is so much fun it deserves the truthful praise and shocking responses you both give. You brightened my day!!! Thank You!!!
Frederik Rabe deserves a better appreciation. The song is so balanced precisely because they are and I find that we should not compare them together but rather as a perfect mix.
I’ve listened to this cover way too many times in the last couple of days and need to get on with real world stuff but scrolling past your reaction clip gave me another excuse to listen to it again, didn’t expect to enjoy your reaction enough to subscribe .

"Tom's Diner" is a song written in 1982 by American singer and songwriter Suzanne Vega. It was first released as a track on the January 1984 issue of Fast Folk Musical Magazine. Originally featured on her second studio album, Solitude Standing, it was released as a single in Europe only in 1987 following the success of her single "Luka". It was later used as the basis for a remix by the British group DNA in 1990, which reached No. 1 in Austria, Germany, Greece and Switzerland. Wikipedia

Legal age for drinking in most European countries is 18 but Germany and others are 16. I worked in a pub in England at 16 and drank Heavily but only for 7 days a week! Officialy close at 11:15pm, more like 11:30 - 11:45, lock in until 01:30. Bottle-up at 10am listening to Albatross on the Juke box, drink a double pinapple juice, 2 slices of toast and start again at 11am..... Muricans have some very insular ideas! Back in the 70's, three of us drove a car to the petrol station, midday Friday, to fix a slow leak in a tyre. We ended up driving from London to the South Coast, had fish and chips, ended up at an all night party and woke up Sunday Morning in France, outside a Patisserie with no money and no passports. We got the help of a Scottish Artic driver who let us drive the car off a grass bank into his trailer. I was 17 with no drivers licence!
You said 'try not to cuss there might be children watching' as I am literally just watching this with my 3 year old and wanted to tell you I appreciate that a lot! My little guy loves watching stuff like this with me lol
I HIGHLY recommend some of AnnenMayKantereit‘s original songs. It’s not only Henning’s incredible voice that puts the spice in it, it’s also music-wise pretty special - a unique style with recognition value. In addition their lyrics are deep, interesting and touching, because most people can relate to the experiences and feelings they sing about! Three of my personal favorites are „Pocahontas“, „Barfuß am Klavier“ and „Hinter klugen Sätzen“. I‘d love you to check them out and to look up the translated lyrics right before. 😇

Dude, it's Germany! Beer at sixteen! Yeah, but they're older than they look...
It is better than good it is AWSOME love that band ❤❤❤❤❤
Those two are german bands, and as such were allowed to drink beer since they were 16. Even earlier with the permission of the legal guardians 😉
16 is legal drinking age for low alcohol content. most drink their first beer at 14-15.
Thank you! We were wondering where they were from.
Such a big difference from 21 in the US!
This is a masterpiece
You said 'try not to cuss there might be children watching' as I am literally just watching this with my 3 year old and wanted to tell you I appreciate that a lot! My little guy loves watching stuff like this with me lol
You are welcome! we really try not to cuss but sometimes it slips but it is something that is always in our minds when we hit the record button!
@@Killermcknight ah we all let it slip sometimes lol.
Thank you and thanks for the suggestion! We'll definitely check it out
In Meinen Bett is so beautiful! Henning hits high notes that I never even imagined he could! Goosebumps!❤
Drinking beer is legal in german from 16 years old and 14 in the presence of a legal guardian
Michael Bolton meets Foster the People! Fantastic sound
I Know amazing voices! They do Roxanne, and Can't get you outta my head!
