I'm a guitar guy usually do punk rock and thrash metal stuff, I've been getting bored of the usual and find myself wanting one of these to get into making crazy midi beats.
No way man that's crazy I also have a history in playing bass and guitar in thrash metal and deathcore etc I've just got into dnb and started producing now I've turned into a dnb head also released a song on my channel and SoundCloud yesterday 😏😏
I’ve been writing lyrics since I was 9 and I’ve learned recording techniques from friends and TH-cam over the years, I’m really grateful for the things I’ve been able to learn as I love music for the way it brightens up the world and can make our hairs stand up, getting to the point though, I just got the akai mini 3 as a gift and I’d love to get into making music with it but I have no idea where to begin or even what to search honestly 🧐, I hear the music in my head but don’t know what buttons or knobs to use to bring this music to life, thanks for reading this and if anyone has any advice or links that would possibly help me out I’d be forever grateful, much respect to Ocean for the videos he makes, them beats are dope! 💯🤙🏾
The Mini Play actually makes sounds. So you could actually do record the sounds in to the DAW or play the midi back out to the Keyboard. It's like a little tiny Cheap Casio or Cheap Yamaha keyboard.
Hey Brother Ocean ! Greetings from Connecticut, USA. walked into my local Pawn Shop this afternoon and saw one for $60 . Placed on layaway for my birthday present ! Will be using with Sony Acid Studio 8 when my software arrives. Great simple and straight forward video. Thanks !
Yo that was amazing. I’ve had the AKAI MPK Mini for a while now and I’ve been trying to figure out for the LONGEST how to do that (new to Logic Pro X interface), especially with this. My twin uses Studio One w/ the AKAI MPK Mini, so it wasn’t the same for me. I’m greatly appreciative for this video, it made my night. Now I can go to bed and wake up ready to create something new, now that I know what’s going on lol.
Hey! I don't know if you have picked it up already, but compared to other mini midi keyboards this one pales in comparison to other ones! Arturia minilab mk2 and the Novation Mk3 seem like a better buy overall!
@@ventiitnev It's not bad; using a keyboard took some time to get used to, but with time, my workflow will improve by a lot. But check out other MIDI keyboards, too. I'm sure you'll find one you like.

im getting that same on today that i i was searching it up lol im used to making beat just only on computer but now i can do other things with the controller
If you plan on doing anything more with keyboards, having real keys like this one (albeit small ones!) will help with your skills later. The basic K-Board would feel really strange to most musicians. For what it's worth.
Hey Bro, I follow you for a while and I see your evolution it's great ! You deserve it ! Can you make a video that explain how to adjust velocity for the melody in the piano roll after we just made the melody ? Big uppp
Great video man..love it. I got this midi keyboard a little less than a year ago.. stuff it in my backpack and jam.. cane with some software including Reason in which I use a ton.. love it ✌🏼

do you think a mini keyboard would be good for learning keys with a website like melodics? i just want to make hip-hop/trap/pop beats but want to learn how to play the piano to have an advantage.
Sorry, I don't understand English 100 percent. I have question. Do I need to download any app for laptop, or it gonna open it self when I connect it with that small keyboard?
Hey man! I reviewed some videos and found that there were issues with the modulation joystick. Is that a really big deal? I’m a beginner in the recording world and still needing my first controller.
I loved the MPC mini review . You just forgot to mention the pitch bend knob. I'm saying that because if there's a beginner watching. At least they will understand enough to where they will be able to make a decision on whether or not to buy it or not. No shade, just a little advice from a beginner stand point.
I have this MIDI controller. I also have Arturia Mini Lab and two Analog Lab versions. Since I don't use a DAW, I use the Arturia controller with the Analog Lab 4 and the Akai with the Analog Lab (older version). It works pretty well. Unfortunately, when recording with a free audio recorder, both pieces played on the controller housing come out mono. As for the DAW program, somehow I can't get my head around the recording.
Hi Ocean I download the software but I can not get it to work.do you have a video showing you how to work the keyboard and the pads.Thank You PS website you used for the plugins do have it the website. and you get Free plugins also with AKAi MPK mini
