@@SirAustinshe had a very serious eye infection much worse than just a stye. She woke up on the morning of their comeback in agony but was determined to perform on comeback day. She was advised to rest and let the antibiotics work but GFriend was more important to her. She was told she could lose her eye if she didn’t heed doctor’s orders so she took a break in some of the later music shows before she returned again. Then Umji got a leg injury so the Mago era appeared cursed especially as they were never allowed another comeback.
Eunha is the member who often get eye infection. She has been shown with half eye patches in the previous comebacks. Some people have hyper sensitive eyes and get easily affected by dust or heavy lighting

In Mago era Eunha had an eye infection. I also love so much Mago and is so cool that Eunha, Yuju and Umji helped writing and composing the song too. In the beginning of Gfriend Yuju did the most of highnotes, but she hurted her vocal chords because of that, so in the last comebacks of Gfriend Eunhas doing the most of the highnotes (Sunrise, Fever, Crossroads, Labyrinth, Mago). In Apple Yuju, Eunha and Umji shared the highnotes. Im looking forward for your solo reaction, maybe if you react in one video for a solo content of each of thrm, I would definitely watch any content and no mater how long is the video for me. They also have amazing bsides, maybe you could react to their albums, I feel in their bsides you can hear much more their individual vocals and other side of them. They also have realitiy shows, my favorite is them in Europe trying to speak english with the locals

i love your reactions and how you've been so eager to learn more about them!! in regards to your question about 1thek: as far as i know, 1thek is owned by kakao (one of the largest music distributors in korea), which means they're HUGE. they have deals with many companies, and, for years, they've been almost like a promotional channel for a lot of groups (especially small ones). it's a chance for the companies to get more exposure and traction for their groups, hence why ( i suppose) the 1thek logo is like an additional product placement here and there.
this is correct. as part of the distribution deal, they would put their logo somewhere edited into the MV. and it can depend. some are exclusive deals where youre only uploading your MV to 1theK, sometimes you can upload both, sometimes you can upload both but with a delay so 1theK is first and gets the first wave of views... all depends on the deal the companies worked out. and usually the dual mvs, the mv on the artist's channel will not have the logo. with the proliferation of kpop and the ability of smalller and smaller companies to ostensibly make their own way, they have had less sway over the logo stuff. obv most companies want that to go first as its an eyesore lol.

I stan gfriend since 2015 when I was in my midle_school_hard_time era. gfriend got me into kpop, they became my spotlight in darkness. I never thought that I could like anyone's music THAT much but I heardme gustas tu and that's was it. and after years, I still didn't find any group to love more than them. even in 2015, I understood that they would disband one day, but I didn't expect that to be so far. but sometimes (for example now), I spend half of night rewatching their mv's and crying, missing their music, and at the same time being unbelievable happy and thankful for fact gfriend had ever existed at one time and at one planet with me. every time I watch their m/v, it gets me in a safe space where all problems do not exist and where I can be honest with myself, smile without any reason, and just feel happiness. I am really thankful for your reactions. It's so important for me to see that people didn't forget gfriend. and every video where people like gfriend's music makes me so touched

Eunha has the power of time travel using 4 blue butterflies 🦋 which she obtained from the magic lake in Live Whisper. She uses them to try and fix the broken relationships amongst GFriend members which led to murders and suicides in previous iterations of their lives. But the old man who gave her the butterflies after she danced in the lake warned her that she mustn’t use all of them up because if she did there would be serious consequences. That is why they encountered the temptation of the Apple 🍎 and turned into witches and there were no more butterflies left to go back again. You saw Eunha in different outfits at the end of Crossroads having used a blue butterfly each time to go back in time and finally using her last one.
About Umji if i remember well during that special stage she had covid so that is why she was missing., but like you said it so well all members can sing and dance so well that even if one member is sick and missing they still can give an amazing performance. Most of the groups that i support and love are like that lol, all members can be main vocals or main dancers and all members are all-around artists and performers. I'm just attracted by talents, creativity and originality and if the visuals is insane too, it's just a a beautiful extra bonus lol. Also, even after following and loving so many k-pop groups over the years(since 2003) GFRIEND has still a BIG place in my heart and in my soul as my number one favorite ultimate k-pop group and each lady are very special to me together and/or separated and still follow, support and love each of them. labyrinth is a bside from the crossroads mini album.. they promoted it in music shows for a while along side crossroads. at that time, many buddies preferred labyrinth as a title track more than crossroads

It's very reasonable that you took such a liking to "Mago" and it sucked all the oxygen out for "Crossroads" and "Apple". In addition, the MV of both "Apple" and "Crossroads" carried uncryptic construct for its underlying message that required additional knowledge of Gfriend growth and career. A newcomer interested in following the story would certainly find it disorienting and distracting from the music itself. This is especially true for "Crossroads". "Crossroads" is Gfriend's last hurrah to their signature sound of orchestral pop for title track. As you suspected, both "Apple" and "Mago" took a brand new artistic direction with their music. The change actually mirrors the message of their last three comebacks in the same year. Outside of Gfriend's lore, "Crossroads" is about how decisions made at crossroads of one's life produce profound impact on future direction (their music). "Apple" is about acceptance of one desire for a different path. And of course "Mago" speaks to the full embrace of one's own decision and enjoy the empowerment. Been waiting to put this comment haha. Apple is one of the greatest songs of all kpop, everytime I listen to it, watch the video or even find the choreography I find little details that make the song very deep. It’s a whole conceptual masterpiece. Also, your comment about mature gfriend is right, I like to think that this trilogy if albums is like a journey in self discovery and self love, which is represented by witchcraft. And somehow every song from Crossroads to Mago contributes to it, don’t know If it was intentional to try to make a conceptual album but it certainly worked haha. Also this are very special albums since the members contributed a lot to the songwriting.
They were always synchronized but during this time the girls were really overworked by the company and their mental health was not the best. While they were preparing for the performance of end of the year of hybe, they were preparing too for their own concert, still in the middle of promotion of mago, preparing for the others end year shows, but eunha for a while was injured too so they had to change the choreography for her, and then umji at last minute so they didn't have a lot of time to make it better. As they said GFriend is the combination of the six of them, so having five affected them a lot, but we'll they were really professional. Yeah, like i said in previous videos sometime GFRIEND MV's can be confusing sometime, but remember that i said that her main theme in their MV is Friendship and their MV are mostly more symbolics like the blue butterfly is representing traveling through time and space and the glass bead imply that the girls have some magic powers with the glass bead, all symbolics. Through the previous MV, the girls has been apart and going their different way, sometime fighting each others and now Eunha is like trying with the power of her Butterfly to reunite them but she travel too many time across time and space everything crumble around her, but in the end they all meet together at the crossroads. That would be the very basic storyline of Crossroads. About apple and Mago they all starting a new storyline separated from the old one, in Apple they are modern witches who get tempted by the Apple of eden( i like to call it the apple of Knowledge too lol) and in Mago they are fully transformed in mature modern witches by the power of the Apple and showing confidence and maturity and being full grown women.

Well, their sound certainly changed (Apple, Labyrinth, Mago), so that makes it all the more interesting why the song is called "Crossroads". But then i came across a video titled 'GFRIEND Story Guide (Glass Bead to Mago)' made by SuA's SinB. The video shows how all MV are connected to each others. Why butterflies and glass bead are important in GFriend's universe. And it's mindblowing. Recommend you to check it out. But it's 50 minutes long 😅.

Actually Yuju was diagnosed with a vocal nodule before (I think Time for the moon night era up to I don't know when) so she can't do some high notes for the meantime. And when they do live performances, she just sings some parts and not the actual high notes. We understand because she actually needs to rest her voice.
I think you would enjoy watching Yerin misbehaving with her members. Her bad hands are legendary. So if you do a few funny compilation videos then GayRin is the best Yerin and SinB Jealous Moments are both very entertaining. But there are lots of ship videos that give a quick insight into the dynamics of their relationships with each other which condense years of watching them into just a few minutes. I found that they clinched Yerin as my first ever bias before I realised that they were actually all my bias. SinRin is the ship which seemed to bring out the best in both of them as Yerin had the knack of unlocking SinB’s happy smile which is often locked away in her misleading icy exterior. But Yuju also allowed Yerin to have fun with her too so the YeJu ship is also very popular. Yerin knew better than to mess with Sowon so the YeWon ship has a different basis more respectful of boundaries. SinB has a famous ship with Sowon, known as Tom and Jerry, as they are always fighting but always playfully of course. They are still very close today.

I remember being disappointed with crossroads when it first came out but now it’s in my top 5 gfriend title tracks. They had previously come out with fever and then got acquired by hybe so everyone thought they were going to continue in this mature very different style but then suddenly we were back to their melancholy orchestral songs like tftmn and sunrise so it left us a bit disappointed. But I think crossroads in itself is a grower, it just gets better with every listen and for me the chorus is really catchy despite not being what traditional catchy choruses sound like, like repeated words or talking or something

I stan gfriend since 2015 when I was in my midle_school_hard_time era. gfriend got me into kpop, they became my spotlight in darkness. I never thought that I could like anyone's music THAT much but I heardme gustas tu and that's was it. and after years, I still didn't find any group to love more than them. even in 2015, I understood that they would disband one day, but I didn't expect that to be so far. but sometimes (for example now), I spend half of night rewatching their mv's and crying, missing their music, and at the same time being unbelievable happy and thankful for fact gfriend had ever existed at one time and at one planet with me. every time I watch their m/v, it gets me in a safe space where all problems do not exist and where I can be honest with myself, smile without any reason, and just feel happiness. I am really thankful for your reactions. It's so important for me to see that people didn't forget gfriend. and every video where people like gfriend's music makes me so touched
Since now you've finished all of gfriends title tracks/mvs, and also here we're talking about gfriend, for next i'd actually love to see you do a marathon of all gfriend dance practices, starting from Glass bead to Mago. Gfriend is nicknamed the Queen of Synchronization
Eunha has the power of time travel using 4 blue butterflies 🦋 which she obtained from the magic lake in Live Whisper. She uses them to try and fix the broken relationships amongst GFriend members which led to murders and suicides in previous iterations of their lives. But the old man who gave her the butterflies after she danced in the lake warned her that she mustn’t use all of them up because if she did there would be serious consequences. That is why they encountered the temptation of the Apple 🍎 and turned into witches and there were no more butterflies left to go back again. You saw Eunha in different outfits at the end of Crossroads having used a blue butterfly each time to go back in time and finally using her last one.
GFriend used to be my Favorite group 😭 i cried everytime i listen to their songs and wathc their MVs again 😭
I feel like Eunha's lore is that she's the keeper of the timelines and she's trying to fix it (using the butterflies)when things go wrong.
The Crossroads mv is the only gfriend mv that doesn't have dance scene in it. That shows they really want to focus more on the storyline
About Umji if i remember well during that special stage she had covid so that is why she was missing., but like you said it so well all members can sing and dance so well that even if one member is sick and missing they still can give an amazing performance.
Most of the groups that i support and love are like that lol, all members can be main vocals or main dancers and all members are all-around artists and performers. I'm just attracted by talents, creativity and originality and if the visuals is insane too, it's just a a beautiful extra bonus lol.
Also, even after following and loving so many k-pop groups over the years(since 2003) GFRIEND has still a BIG place in my heart and in my soul as my number one favorite ultimate k-pop group and each lady are very special to me together and/or separated and still follow, support and love each of them. Also praying for the return of GFRIEND one day.

yep during the mago comeback show they performed their unit songs that they wrote and composed themselves from the mago album. Sowon and Umji performed their song “better me”. Yerin and SinB performed “Secret Diary”. and our main vocal line Yuju and Eunha performed “Night Drive”. they’re all rlly good songs but personally my favorite is “better me” by sowon and umji. perhaps you could react to them with the rest of the bsides from the mago album? or you could do them in a separate video if you want.
labyrinth is a bside from the crossroads mini album.. they promoted it in music shows for a while along side crossroads. at that time, many buddies preferred labyrinth as a title track more than crossroads

Sir Austin, you are quite a thinking person who reflects upon your own thoughts consistently and logically. It's very reasonable that you took such a liking to "Mago" and it sucked all the oxygen out for "Crossroads" and "Apple". In addition, the MV of both "Apple" and "Crossroads" carried uncryptic construct for its underlying message that required additional knowledge of Gfriend growth and career. A newcomer interested in following the story would certainly find it disorienting and distracting from the music itself. This is especially true for "Crossroads".
"Crossroads" is Gfriend's last hurrah to their signature sound of orchestral pop for title track. As you suspected, both "Apple" and "Mago" took a brand new artistic direction with their music. The change actually mirrors the message of their last three comebacks in the same year. Outside of Gfriend's lore, "Crossroads" is about how decisions made at crossroads of one's life produce profound impact on future direction (their music). "Apple" is about acceptance of one desire for a different path. And of course "Mago" speaks to the full embrace of one's own decision and enjoy the empowerment.

Been waiting to put this comment haha. Apple is one of the greatest songs of all kpop, everytime I listen to it, watch the video or even find the choreography I find little details that make the song very deep. It’s a whole conceptual masterpiece. Also, your comment about mature gfriend is right, I like to think that this trilogy if albums is like a journey in self discovery and self love, which is represented by witchcraft. And somehow every song from Crossroads to Mago contributes to it, don’t know If it was intentional to try to make a conceptual album but it certainly worked haha. Also this are very special albums since the members contributed a lot to the songwriting.

Eunha is a main vocalist type
They were always synchronized but during this time the girls were really overworked by the company and their mental health was not the best. While they were preparing for the performance of end of the year of hybe, they were preparing too for their own concert, still in the middle of promotion of mago, preparing for the others end year shows, but eunha for a while was injured too so they had to change the choreography for her, and then umji at last minute so they didn't have a lot of time to make it better.
As they said GFriend is the combination of the six of them, so having five affected them a lot, but we'll they were really professional.
I hope you can react more to them, like a show as idol room (they are amazing and funny) or maybe their own show like memoria (I recommend the one in high school). Waiting for more. Loving having this path with u

Yeah, like i said in previous videos sometime GFRIEND MV's can be confusing sometime, but remember that i said that her main theme in their MV is Friendship and their MV are mostly more symbolics like the blue butterfly is representing traveling through time and space and the glass bead imply that the girls have some magic powers with the glass bead, all symbolics. Through the previous MV, the girls has been apart and going their different way, sometime fighting each others and now Eunha is like trying with the power of her Butterfly to reunite them but she travel too many time across time and space everything crumble around her, but in the end they all meet together at the crossroads. That would be the very basic storyline of Crossroads.
About apple and Mago they all starting a new storyline separated from the old one, in Apple they are modern witches who get tempted by the Apple of eden( i like to call it the apple of Knowledge too lol) and in Mago they are fully transformed in mature modern witches by the power of the Apple and showing confidence and maturity and being full grown women.

Interesting that you said Crossroads sounded like the last of their "classical" sound. Well, their sound certainly changed (Apple, Labyrinth, Mago), so that makes it all the more interesting why the song is called "Crossroads". Like, I can picture a boardroom meeting discussing whether to continu with the "classic" G-Friend sound, or change the sound, aka being at a Crossroads.

And yes... i was confused on what they try to convey in each of their MVs. But then i came across a video titled 'GFRIEND Story Guide (Glass Bead to Mago)' made by SuA's SinB.
The video shows how all MV are connected to each others. Why butterflies and glass bead are important in GFriend's universe. And it's mindblowing.

Actually Yuju was diagnosed with a vocal nodule before (I think Time for the moon night era up to I don't know when) so she can't do some high notes for the meantime. And when they do live performances, she just sings some parts and not the actual high notes. We understand because she actually needs to rest her voice.

I think you would enjoy watching Yerin misbehaving with her members. Her bad hands are legendary. So if you do a few funny compilation videos then GayRin is the best Yerin and SinB Jealous Moments are both very entertaining. But there are lots of ship videos that give a quick insight into the dynamics of their relationships with each other which condense years of watching them into just a few minutes. I found that they clinched Yerin as my first ever bias before I realised that they were actually all my bias.
SinRin is the ship which seemed to bring out the best in both of them as Yerin had the knack of unlocking SinB’s happy smile which is often locked away in her misleading icy exterior. But Yuju also allowed Yerin to have fun with her too so the YeJu ship is also very popular.
Yerin knew better than to mess with Sowon so the YeWon ship has a different basis more respectful of boundaries. SinB has a famous ship with Sowon, known as Tom and Jerry, as they are always fighting but always playfully of course. They are still very close today.

I remember being disappointed with crossroads when it first came out but now it’s in my top 5 gfriend title tracks. They had previously come out with fever and then got acquired by hybe so everyone thought they were going to continue in this mature very different style but then suddenly we were back to their melancholy orchestral songs like tftmn and sunrise so it left us a bit disappointed. But I think crossroads in itself is a grower, it just gets better with every listen and for me the chorus is really catchy despite not being what traditional catchy choruses sound like, like repeated words or talking or something
