The S2000 is a well built machine. I bought an '05 new and had it for 5 years.....had to sell it to put the youngest through college. Of the 55+ cars I've owned and sold since age 16, it's the one I regret having to. Even though I'm a big guy, I never thought it was too small. The engineering Honda used on this car is special.......carbon fiber strands in the engine block to fight warping, ceramic coated cylinder walls, carbon fiber in the transmission synchros, roller bearings in the valve train, aluminum hood, torsen differential, and the valve train that shifts over about 6200 rpm for more lift......there's a reason these cars in nice condition are going up in value. The down side I experiences was a noisy cabin and seat leather that seemed to wear quickly.....that's it! They are a good investment......will go up in value if taken care of in my opinion.
One of the easiest cars to mod it's deficiencies, which aren't many. I wish I could find one that isn't a fortune or destroyed (people tend to wrap these around trees & telephone poles).
I'm on my second S2000. I bought a '02 AP1 brand new and kept it for 12 yrs. I traded it in for my current '09 AP2 5 yrs ago. It's my favorite Honda model . I'll probably have one in the garage under a car cover till the day I die. I love them and really don't care if others understand or not. I'm a big dude as well and never had any problem getting in and out. When you get in a drive it all the drawbacks seem insignificant to me for some strange reason.
It is quite obvious that knowing how to work on frame damage and having the equipment is a great help in rebuilding salvaged vehicles. So, you have a distinct advantage over most other channels that do similar projects. But what amazes me is that your video content and camera work are also superior, which puts you in a league of your own! Great job... 😉👍
vTuned your videos make it look simple when it takes expert knowledge to pull those frame aprons. Keep this type of videos coming! Hope to see a MBZ in the future.....
This video was very helpful to me. Because of your explanations and close-up video work I now have a much better understanding of the logic you use for frame repair. Thank You!
I really like your work I have a 2014 Charger that has front apron damage that is salvage car' One body shop said i made a big mistake , junk it !!! He said it was not worth the trouble to get inspected. You have done many cars that look really bad and make them good again. I wish i was closer to you , I"m just west of Hotlanta, and my 2001 Durango will have a hard time towing the Charger that far. Thanks for showing yours and your brothers work, I know it takes time to do the video work !!!
Great video (as usual). I really enjoy your no-nonsense videos where get into the details and show Real collision repair. I will say, this video seemed a little rushed and I would’ve liked to have seen more details on how are you pulled the structure out and welded in the new radiator support.
Honda S2000 are fantastic cars , really reliable ..granted they are small compared to American cars and trucks .. i guess they were meant for European roads really. ... top work as ever ...
I would sell the carbon fiber hood and go OEM so everything matches up, great video as usual . I had an S2000 when they came out, the first thing that also struck me was how small inside it was, but still fun to rev it to 9k .
I like watching your videos. I can’t do this at work but since it’s your car you can do more than me. I have to follow manufacture recommendations and icar stuff. Keep it up
That is awesome you can still get dealer parts for that Honda, I've run into issues with discontinued parts and had to settle for recycled or worse aftermarket.
Seeing those black parts reminded me of when I saw my old car put up for sale after I survived an accident with it (my car insurance declared it totaled after I was rear-ended). Now I realize that the people who repaired it was lazy enough to not spray paint it to match the rest of the vehicle.
That is a lot of work. Now once it all fits, you need to weld & paint everything, then reassemble. And I would suggest you change the headlight bulbs while you can get to them easily. Changing them after it is all back together, looks like a long job.
Small cars like this and the Miata.... Man if you ever have a truck blow out a tire beside you it'll flip you over. Nice job, such great work with the steel.
Super nice car you should get one TH-cam sensation car. It's all about the clike like and comments. Just because you Don't like Dose not mean you should not buy. Buy for us to build on here for your subs. You catch my drift. Nice work
I'm blown away at the massive skill sets these young kids have. I'm glad they're all getting youtube rich.
i agree as well its so rare to see young people excelling in any kind of trade now a days they all want to sit on their ass behind a computer...

It amazes me. He makes the repairs on these cars look effortless.
Seriously, the guy's like a surgeon. It's hypnotizing to watch, something that damaged reform to its original shape so quickly.
Awesome video!! You make it look so easy!
I love to see you working. Really an old-school mechanic with hammers and grease on your hands. And you make all sooo easy....
There's something so satisfying about watching you pull those body parts back into place. Awesome content.
Your repair skills and knowledge are truly amazing! How did you gain your skill? Your videos are always great!

Love your videos Vtuned! You have taught me so much. I always hacked up spot welds until I found your videos! Can't wait to see your platform grow!
The S2000 power plant is one of the best engines ever made. Revs to 9000 rpm & with a straight through exhaust it is one hell of a scream :-)
it is a AP2 generation, 8000rpm engine
@@georgejames6376 Oh! I did not know that I was thinking of the Euro spec engine.
@@georgejames6376 Still awesome cars don't they?
@@zoneb609 Yes they are! I have always wanted one but I am 6'6" and just too tall. Drove 4 hours to test drive one and it just didn't work for me
George James I hate how my legs hit the steering wheel when I got it. Just for that I didn’t like the car. xD it’s just too small for me
It's addicting watching you fix these mangled frames.
Great work Vtuned, love watching you knock out body work!
vTuned your videos make it look simple when it takes expert knowledge to pull those frame aprons. Keep this type of videos coming! Hope to see a MBZ in the future.....
