Hi guys! I’ve been getting a few requests as to whether I would sell some of these or not. If you’re based in the UK let me know - just send me a DM on Instagram and we can take it from there 😊
@@sonjavolanen2282 Same, I live in the Netherlands.. altho i recently bought some parfume from the UK cost me 10 pound shipping and no delay on the border.
What I love about you Josephine is that you really don't mind being honest! We don't find these genuine opinions about fragrances elsewhere anymore. And it's really important for us (customers) to hear the voice of someone who's not afraid of saying the truth. Thank you for that! You're the best!
Thank you - it’s good to take these opinions with a grain of salt though as fragrance is so subjective. What doesn’t work for me may work for someone else and vise versa 😊
This is an important part of the journey, thank you so much for sharing this with us! All of us enthusiasts need to remind ourselves that our passion can't turn into irrational spending and uncontrollable hoarding. Selling is just as important as buying.
Wow...50 bottles to decluttered. Now I wonder how many bottles you have in your collection. Josephine, you are really truly my favorite reviewer. Most honest and genuine reviews and of course, the most gorgeous! 😍
I love you so much, you're such a breath of fresh air in this community. You actually know scents and you are very geniune at the same time. So glad to have found you x
Always good to clean house every now and then. Fragrances do have a variable shelf life, so there is no way for a person to use a large collection effectively. I have quite a few sample vials but only around ten bottles that I rotate.
I have one deep built in closet shelf for fragrance storage that I don't surpass. If I want new stuff, I gotta get rid of old stuff I don't use or have outgrown. As a result, my collection is pretty solid, for my taste anyway. I highly recommend a fixed storage capacity.
I don't buy blind buys anymore, it is a hit or miss, and some perfumes that are talked about on TH-cam are absolutely horrible, so I have to go to the store and smell the perfume myself before I purchase. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to see other fragrance reviewers do this too. I've had an expensive month myself, so I shan't be bidding, but it's great to see these bottles being passed around instead of gathering dust. Much love.
"A little bit old fashioned"... "90s" - oof! I mean, true at this point I guess, but still... oof! 😂 Are we sure the '90s weren't 10 years ago? Glad to see a longer video again!
Josephine, I’m THRILLED to have just found you! Your videos are lovely & so informative. I was researching Le Labo & came across your Byredo reviews, ran to the store and feel that I have found my brand! Thank you so much! I’m bananas in love with Pulp & am heading back for Bal d’Afrique. You’re gorgeous & so approachable. Thank you!!
I’m so glad you love byredo Elise! Tbh I’ve been a little disappointed with the latest releases but still very much love pulp and bal d’Afrique. Two beautiful scents! Thank you so much for watching and wishing you a great Sunday ❤️
Could you do a video on perfumes that have been changed and some of the logistics and science behind why some places decide to change their formulas? My favorite perfume in highschool was miss cherie by dior but a few years after purchasing it when I would test it in stores the smell was different than the version I had and I didn't like it anymore :/ I read somewhere that it was because they changed the formulation but I couldn't understand why they would make it worse? Haha although "worse" is a bit subjective. Love your channel!
That’s a good idea. There are many factors that come into play for reformulations. I think a lot of us tend to forget that fragrances are made up of natural and synthetic notes which - just like aromas - are subject to changes in legislation as well as other factors like supply & demand, weather conditions which affect the yield (naturals), price fluctuations etc...
@@jusderose i would love a video on this! I just picked up a rollerball of Skin by Clean from their classic line thinking it was just a repackaging of their old purple bottle. It's completely different, and the company says it had to reformate due to regulations. What I don't get is why they couldn't do a better approximation of musk and florals. They added like 7 more notes in their scent pyramid. I don't get it!
If I got rid of 50, I'd have nothing. I capped my collection at 50, so now I finish one off before I buy a new one. I'm nearing a milestone birthday so I am sampling for something fabulous!!! The only fragrances I was surprised you were getting rid of were Guimauve de Noel and Bois Farine. I bought Bois Farine early in my fragrance journey (2014) and I still love it. I'd be curious for you to do a video on completely indulgent splurge fragrances for someone like myself who wants something for that milestone birthday. I tried a few Roja Dove, Fragrance Du Bois and Amouage, but nothing yet. Thanks.
I usually don't watch decluttering videos. They are actually annoying to me. But I couldn't resist to you 🤣 I appreciate what you said in the beginning: if you don't wear them it's better someone else could enjoy them. This "recycling" reassurance is a relief. 💕😅
That’s very nice of you to say, appreciate the support ❤️ I think it’s such a shame to just throw away fragrances when they can make someone else very happy!
It’s great to declutter. My collection is 50 I don’t buy new unless I sell, swap or use up a fragrance first. I have space for 50 and half are warm weather and half cold. Most are every day wear with a few night out exceptions. This is how I prevent myself going to mad. 🤣
It's such a good feeling to declutter the once that does not work and is not love. Have been doing a big declutter myself lately, and the once that I kept and love impresses me even more afterwards!
Armani Code Pour Femme - the sexiest female scent ever created (for me)! 🤤 I even got 2 bottles in my collection (vintage bottle with flowers & last style release, like it was in the video) 😅 And also Hugo Boss Alive EDT(!) is sooo beautiful on the blotter, I’ve never smelled this on skin, but on paper it’s just wonderful✨ Good video! I’m on my way to do the same with my collection, there’s a lot of “sleeping” bottles :)
Couldn't agree more with your opening statement, Josephine. These fragrances out of your rotation, might as well find some other user who will -somehow reactivate its charm, a concept that goes beyond than just freeing up space. I was still wondering if you stock up on any potentially discontinued favorites... that is -do you keep backups among your collection? Thanks for bringing up quality videos 👍 - Ricardo
sometimes one wore a really good fragrance so much times that he or she starts saying that it is average .Therefore keep best only for best occasions ,NOT FOR SAVING MILLI LITRES BUT FOR SAVING THAT SPECIAL FRAGRANCE TO GIVE THE SAME EFFECT AS THAT DAY WE WORE IT THE FIRST TIME . if u know what i mean. 😊
Love your videos! Lovely by SJP reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP (in the pink bottle). Just thought I’d mention that for anyone who hasn’t tried it.
I get rid of Fragrances by using them. I spray them beast mode. If I can gift them I do but I actually like making myself use them. I notice it helps me curb my buying. Your situation is different because I am sure you get bottles as well so it get out of hand easy. I also have been buying decants instead of full bottles. That way I get variety without too many bottles. It's hard though since some bottles are so darn pretty. 😭😭😭
I also want to get rid of my Mon Guerlain, just doesnt work for me. Declutter is a great idea, every now and then I give away some old frags which have been sitting on the shelf for a long time (or i use them as bathroom air fresheners) 😂
Body chemistry is definitely a consideration in regards to parfum, SJPs Stash I'm trying to appreciate and Lalique pour homme is ok but not a wow fragrance. Sweet fragrances i just cannot get into either it becomes annoying after an hour or so.

I've given away a few of my fragrances to my son when i realized they were too similar or i just didn't like them anymore. Nothing wrong with outgrowing some things in your collection. Plus only so much room :)

And now also you have a bit more space for new ones, which is always exciting, haha! Have a great weekend guapa! ❤️ 😘
Serious question Josephine. I always wonder if I should be throwing perfume bottles in black or brown bin. What's better for environment??? How do you do it?
Joop! Homme is a guilty pleasure fragrance. There's no reason to have it at all. It's extremely synthetic and there's much better sweet stuff out there. Regardless, I still enjoy a spray of it every once in a while. It takes me back to the 90's. Even if for a brief period.
