I agree the turnaround started with ownership. They immediately fired Hackett but were willing to keep the GM. I probably would had fired the GM for the Hackett hire. They also spent the money and hired an experienced head coach and was willing to trade two high round picks to get the coach. And they empowered the coach and allowed him to move on from Russ. I liked Russ and wanted the trade to work out. I probably would had hired a coach who would had made the trade work with Russ. But, I now see that probably would had been a bad move. I like having the upside of a young quarterback vs an aging veteran who needs a lot help. Wilson is proving with the Steelers he can still play, but Denver over paid for him. Denver expected a savior like Manning was in 2013. But Manning was free agent so adding Manning made the team stronger and the team implemented Manning’s offense. Wilson made Denver weaker by trading two top 10 first round picks and two second picks…plus Wilson wanted to operate a pocket pass offense and that was not what made him successful in Seattle.
