I'm glad it helped! I'll be making another video on how to pack to maximize space and essentials to make your flight as comfortable as it can be :) I'm so excited for you! will this be your first time?
@@JCTheLawnCareGuy you're going to have a fantastic time! I instantly fell in love with the culture, people, and food! Hope you enjoy your birthday there!!! 🥳
I coincidentally came across your video just as I was wondering how I should pack for my Japan trip, which is also at the end of April (until mid May) - how convenient 😂 Thanks for the tips🫶🏼
I'm going for four months (for work) --from end of March to the end of July, so I'm afraid I'll be dealing with a lot of rain and heat in June and July. I am "trying" to pack light...trying! But I used to live in Japan, and I KNOW for a fact that nothing will fit me. I also have to dress professionally. You made some great points. I guess I'd just add that there are plenty of laundromats in Japan--coin laundry, so in a pinch you might be able to wash your clothes there, and laundromats do have dryers. When I lived in Japan, we used to wash our clothes at home and drive everything to the coin laundry (in the winter!) to toss into the dryer--especially sheets and towels.
There is a lot of shopping, but it's true, it depends on what you're looking for style-wise. Professional clothes are harder to find since the largest size is an American size 4-6 over there (from what I saw). I heard shoes are even harder to find in larger sizes. Good tips about the laundromats for dryer use since April will have some rain! Have fun visiting this summer! Yes, pack as light as you can, the heat is no joke during June/July :)
@@heyyyitsdonna Size 4-6!! LOL. The last time I wore that size, I was probably in elementary school! I've been 5'10" (177 cm) since I was about 13. And yeah, my feet are a size 10 (27 cm)! 😅
YES!! I'm a slim UK size 6 to 10 (in some jeans) and I'm considered a whale in Japan. I buy so many things in 'large' and 'XL' when in Japan and they fit like a UK small. Every time I browse the clothing rails in Japan I feel a pang of great tenderness and concern for the curvier, more voluptuous women out there; if I'm considered 'large' in both shoes and clothing, then I can only imagine how a full figured, busty size 12 to 14 girl would feel. Yikes!
Wear whatever you want babe ! Just buy some there ! Although sizing is smaller over there I usually go to Uniqlo if I need extra clothes over there. Have fun !
Number one tip: leave heavy make up and perfume at home. Both those things mark everybody out as foreigners, even from other Far East Asian countries. You can spot the foreigner by how they do their make up and how strong their fragrance is, ha! Hope you had an amazing trip.
I'm also going to Japan in April. First day in Osaka, the second day Osaka/Kyoto, third Kyoto, fourth and five, Tokyo. I was wondering what to wear and this video clarify at lot for me. So thank you for the tips!

@@lillithanywhere Oh man, 26hrs sounds rough! But at least you're there for a month, so you'll be able to make the most of your trip 😊. Our flight is 11hrs, not including getting to the airport early. Then we have to take a 45 min train ride after the landing in Osaka. My jetlag is pretty decent; just a day to adjust is all I need. I do recommend taking melatonin to help on the flight to get a head start on the jetlag!💕

Most of us in your comments we are going to visit Japan in April this year ❤️. Probably your video showed up because of our research and the A.I. just made the job 😃. Thank you for the tips!
Early March will still be chilly, between the mid-40s to high 50s. I recommend bringing a coat to layer over sweaters and long sleeves. It may be cold outside but consider that when you go inside (i.e., mall, restaurant, or museum), they may have the heater blasting, and it gets HOT. lol Still pack light pieces that are easy to pack away in a bag or hold onto when you're on the go. I hope you have a fun trip!! 💕

OMG, congrats!!! A wedding in Japan would be a dream, especially in April during cherry blossoms season. April rain can be sporadic, I would say there would be a higher probability earlier in the month.
My luggage is the sum between 160-250cm but inches wise for the height, it is 29.5inches (75cm) which says is not allowed on the shinkansen. So I’m confused :/ My luggage’s dimensions are 75cm (H) x 51cm (W) x 36cm (D) = 162cm total
One thing I MUST budget both money and time for, is a calf, ankle & foot massage at least twice during a two week trip to Japan. The pain at night is so bad I can't sleep. I click on the bedside lamp at 2am, press on weird Japanese TV and get stuff out of the minibar fridge and kill some time until I'm so exhausted I pass out. If anybody has had the aforementioned massage in Japan, can you please let me know if it was worth the money and time? I also recommend packing the most comfortable shoes you own when going to Japan. Doesn't matter if they're slightly ugly and hard to base a cool outfit around-- your entire body will thank you.
I am visiting Japan early April and was browsing for the proper clothing to wear in Japan as I want to blend in. This video is really helpful. I am travelling with two kids(age 6 and 1.5 years). Any tips for travellers travelling with kids?
If you are going to Tokyo the Tokyo Toy Museum in Shinjuku should be a good place for them! There's also some fun space museums and aquariums in the area

Yokohama and Two nights in Hakone... There are too many places I want to see and I'm trying to fit things in while also giving myself time in each place to relax and enjoy 😅 even now I've been really considering adding in Chichibu 🙈
Your trip sounds amazing! I always tell people that more than two weeks is needed for Japan. I love just waking up and spending the day relaxing and taking in everything. I try not to book myself but its hard when you're traveling with friends/family, and they want to do tourist things lol its still enjoyable, though, watching them experience the city you love. Tokyo can be a hit or miss depending on what you're looking for. I make that my last stop since I shop for gifts/souviners before I fly out. I agree with you that the seedy night scene does not seem appealing at all. I also add Kanazawa on your list if you're near the area, it's beautiful. Try to squeeze only a few places all in one visit. You want to take everything in and enjoy the moment sometimes :)
We're planning on going to Japan too. FYI - Miss Jessi Cherry (TH-cam vlogger) went to Tokyo in April with her husband. It was very rainy, windy and COLD for quite a few days of their trip.
April can be unpredictable. It's definitely colder in early April, but it warms up a bit toward the end. That's why layers are so important, even though it may be cold outside, the venues, malls, and underground shopping is so hot because they blast the heater on. I was always putting on/removing layers constantly. Yes, bring a packable rain jacket in April, you'll most likely run into at least 2-3 days of rain.
Hey...very nice video!!🥰💕 ...I am going to Japan in 1st week of April on my birthday..... I just wanted to ask whether to wear somewhat warm clothes or completely summer clothes. I noticed that you have packed light jackets as well. Is it somewhat cold there in April too? Could you please help me?
Hiii!! No, I wouldn't suggest packing summer clothes. Japan in April can be tricky because you'll have some warm days where it's low 70s, and then morning can be low 50s. I suggest packing layers and a light jacket or cardigan that can be easily packed into your bag if needed. The jackets I packed are light and foldable. You don't need to pack a coat but do consider that there will be some rain in April, so maybe a rain jacket as well. Hope this helps, and happy travels 💕
I will be going first 2 weeks of April. Tokyo - hakone - nikko - tokyo. Hopefully can catch up the sakuras. I actually hope it’s not gonna be too hot! I’m surprised you could wear shorts in April?
It definitely won't be hot in the first two weeks of April. I'm going from the end of April to May, when it warm up a bit. Yes, you can wear shorts, but I'm pairing layers on top (sweaters/jackets with light long-sleeve tops) because it will be colder in the early mornings and evenings. Even though the temperature may cool down, the venues like a mall, restaurants and underground train station get sooooo HOT! They like to blast the heater, I was constantly putting on and taking off layers throughout the day. Don't forge to bring a packable rain jacket, you'll definitely run into a few days of rain.
@@heyyyitsdonna hii i see your replies, i will go to Japan the end 2 weeks of april. thopefully the sky is blue clear, is it would be? this is my very first time going to japan so hopefully can take some best picture of blue skies
We are going on a very similar timeframe (mid-April) so this was very helpful! I was wondering what product you meant by "clothing de-oderizer" though, as I wasn't sure what that meant except for laundry detergents though it seemed like a good idea. Maybe a charcoal air purifying bag to hang with clothing?
YESS! that video is coming out the first week of next month. I will go through covid regulations, what apps you should download, and paperwork to prepare for when entering japan. Also, baggage forwarding services and SIM cards if needed. Stay tuned!🌸
Hello! I have a question, I plan on getting an Airbnb while I’m in Yokohama but a lot of the prices are expensive… did u look at any other services apps for overnight stay?
I am interested in getting the Icoca card. I’ll be spending 7 Days & 6 Nights in Kyoto. Will need to travel from Osaka Kansai (FIX) Airport to a hotel in Kyoto via Shinkansen + Bus/Train. My itinerary evolves around Kyoto only. Should I just use Icoca for every busses/trains in Kyoto or is there any other better option e.g. 1-Week Pass etc.? P.S.: After a week in Kyoto I will take a return flight at Osaka Kansai Airport (FIX). No in-between stop over or any such. Literally, Osaka-Kyoto.
Hi! I'm excited about you're trip! Osaka and Kyoto is pretty close (15 minutes on the shinkansen). You can get a lcoca card since it's a prepaid card to use for public transportation. I haven't used that before, but I've used PASMO and SUICA in the past and found them easy to use for trains and buses. I wouldn't suggest getting a pass since you'll be touring around just Kyoto. The JR pass is worth it if you are traveling through multiple cities. You'll be fine with a prepaid card. Check if you can download the card to your wallet on your phone so you can quickly load it and use it when you travel. ☺
@@heyyyitsdonna This is my first trip to Japan. It was so confusing at first. But I get it now. I wish they explained it like you: "prepaid card". Anyhow I will get prepaid card as suggested. Your video & reply have help me in so many ways. Thank you so much.
That sounds like so much fun! Pack layers for March & April, nothing too heavy, you won't need a coat, maybe a rain jacket. May through August will be so HOTTT! You would most likely be in shorts and a t-shirt all day.
It's not going to be too different. It'll warm up a bit in May (in the 70s), so no coat is needed. Bring a light sweaters or jacket, something you can remove and pack up in your bag if needed. Also, there may be a few days of rain when you're visiting but a lot of the accommodations there offer umbrellas or you can easily buy one if needed 😊
They're way more rainy days, and the average temperature ranges from 51-68F during the day to 39-55F at night. I suggest packing a rain jacket and layers!
I'm going this year, used to live in Japan. I'd say yes, May is about the same. It's getting warmer but the rainy season still won't start until June. The intense heat and humidity kick in after the rainy season ends.
Early May will warm up a bit in the high 60-70s, and the end of May will be more consistently in the high 70s since you're going to head into the summer months. Mays is my favorite month to visit! :)

@@sonyaaamn, of course, there will be some days of blue skies but consider that there will be some rainy days as well. Happy travels!
Hello. I bring a small spray bottle of Febreeze fabric freshener on my travels. It immediately neutralizes all scents especially from restaurants.
Thanks you!!!
Can you make a video about entering Japan? There is a lot of new rules and it’s confusing
YESS! that video is coming out the first week of next month. I will go through covid regulations, what apps you should download, and paperwork to prepare for when entering japan. Also, baggage forwarding services and SIM cards if needed. Stay tuned!🌸
@@heyyyitsdonna you’re a lifesaver thank you 🙏🏻 I’m going in April much appreciated
Hello! I have a question, I plan on getting an Airbnb while I’m in Yokohama but a lot of the prices are expensive… did u look at any other services apps for overnight stay?
Very informative 💯
Awesome video! I’m going in late April :)
me toooo!!! Hopefully in time for the cherry blossoms! Happy travels 😊
Any idea if the dyson airwrap works in Japan?
Two weeks in Tokyo and kyoto, isn't that too long for just two cities?
If I go from 2 to April 9 I still have the chance to see the cherry blossoms??
Wow thank you for this! I'm going to Japan for an exchange next year, from March to August. I wonder how I should pack for those 6 months TT
That sounds like so much fun! Pack layers for March & April, nothing too heavy, you won't need a coat, maybe a rain jacket. May through August will be so HOTTT! You would most likely be in shorts and a t-shirt all day.
How much were rt tickets?
Anyone know if May is too different than April? I’ll be going from April 24th- May 9th.
What brand is your flats?
We're also going the end of April with a group of friends. Happy Travel!
You guys are going to have so much fun!! 💕
I am going here in April 2023 with my family too 😂
Thanks!! do you have a recommended foldable duffle bag brand?
Great tips! 🌺 Heidi
Do you think there is much difference from March??
They're way more rainy days, and the average temperature ranges from 51-68F during the day to 39-55F at night. I suggest packing a rain jacket and layers!
will march be the same as april? i’m heading in a few days and i’m cracking brains on what to pack😭
How was the weather in March?? Chilly? Rain?
Yo~heyyyyitsdonna- breathtaking , 🤩
I like your info. Maybe lower the background music next time. Or choose one that repeats a little less? However great information
Thank you! I know the audio is pretty off 😅was my second time editing a video and trust me it was a learning curve.
I travel next month April
What fabric deodorizer?
Febreez is a common brand in US
Guys if someone go to japan in spring 2023, around 28-35 years old and single let’s hung out:))
I’m leaving in April
is may the same?
I'm going this year, used to live in Japan. I'd say yes, May is about the same. It's getting warmer but the rainy season still won't start until June. The intense heat and humidity kick in after the rainy season ends.
@@susanma4899 same, I am going in May. Hopefully not so hot, and no rain.
Early May will warm up a bit in the high 60-70s, and the end of May will be more consistently in the high 70s since you're going to head into the summer months. Mays is my favorite month to visit! :)
Is it just me or is anyone having sound issues?
I am too, no headphones but it sounds muffled and starchy?occasional sharp tunes like static too, Maybe a malfunction
Sound is off
I wish I could hear her tips, sadly I only hear music
Lots of helpful infos, but unfortunately the music, the "pop up" noises and the microphone crackling are really distracting ...
The audio sounds like youre under water, its really bad
haha yeah, just started to learn how to edit, and man, it's been a journey. thanks for the feedback. Been practicing editing audio. Hopefully, there will be improvements in future videos 😊
@@heyyyitsdonna I like your video, maybe just a better mic! Good content though
