Judges rejecting plea agreements are really rare. I had seen only one case in ten years. Hussain Braveheart case. Judge rejected the plea agreement for the defendant in that case. It was passed on for a review on a different Judge who accepted the plea agreement.

What is so hard to understand about this case? 1. He cooperated. Without his testimony, they wouldn’t have convicted George and won’t be able to convict the father. 2. The mother got a true sweetheart deal for cooperating (30 years). The judge essentially split the difference. He rewarded Jake for cooperating and helping convict the other guys and also tried to align with what Angela got. The prosecution did this to themselves. The judge did a great job explaining the situation. Defendant plead guilty in a plea agreement rejected by the new Judge. All plea agreements are subject to acceptance by the trial court judge, and why the state dragged out sentencing is questionable. Claiming fear of losing a witness is not valid. Witness could have died or been killed before Wagner Sr's trial. My heart goes out to the victim's family. This evil family or pack took out an entire family. This judge should be investigated thoroughly for wrongdoing regarding this sentence. This courtroom and the judge is a sad and disgusting joke.

This judge knows what is gonna happen whenever Jake goes to the parole board. He knew nobody is going to agree to his release. Why keep this going with Billy Wagner? He is guilty throw away the key on him.

What is so hard to understand about this case? 1. He cooperated. Without his testimony, they wouldn’t have convicted George and won’t be able to convict the father. 2. The mother got a true sweetheart deal for cooperating (30 years).
The judge essentially split the difference. He rewarded Jake for cooperating and helping convict the other guys and also tried to align with what Angela got. The prosecution did this to themselves. The judge did a great job explaining the situation.
I’m convinced these comment sections are just angry children with no understanding of how the system works and just looking for their little way of rebelling against authority. 🤡🤡🤡
And the deal was, cooperate and spend life in prison, no death penalty. That was the deal.

Was this a plea deal or a bench/jury trial?
Defendant plead guilty in a plea agreement rejected by the new Judge. All plea agreements are subject to acceptance by the trial court judge, and why the state dragged out sentencing is questionable. Claiming fear of losing a witness is not valid. Witness could have died or been killed before Wagner Sr's trial. Very odd how the State prosecutor has run this case despite how terrible Judge Hein has behaved!
