I used to be an atheist too, up until a little over a year ago. Best decision I made was to genuinely ask God to reveal himself to me, I didn’t really believe in a God at that point but I called out to him from a place of sincerely wanting to know. After I became a believer Living Waters, Cross Examined, Got Questions and Desiring God were the main channels that helped me understand Christianity and then I found this channel revolving around the evidence. Thanks Jim, your content is extremely helpful :)

am praying this video will at least start to make my atheist millennial son accept he may be wrong and start to look for the truth.. even a glimmer of hope will suffice at this point

The desiring God channel believes people are predestined to hell. I like some of the advice they give but I think that pastor piper is wrong when he says people were created for hell.

Found your channel sometime back. I am a Licensed dual diagnosis therapist and approach psychology in the same way as you approach Christ. I am really enjoying your videos and found this to be very helpful and informative.

On the other side of things. Is there a way to find these locations of where these events might of happened. Could the tomb where jesus was resurrected be found. Is there anything in the Bible to where events actually happened. Have people actually searched for them. Is there an archaeology side to Christianity.

Yes there are archaeological evidence. Expedition Bible has vids on this. You'll find it on y o u t u b e.

Here's the hard part for me: if Christ's resurrection is God's plan for humanity's rescue, why should we have to weigh evidence to figure it out? Why wouldn't it be more plainly obvious?

I used to be an athiest for over 16 years. Some of my stumbling blocks were setting too high a bar for what 'evidence' means. If you can't accept the validity of the Bible as evidence, then no amount of proof can help you, short of a personal miracle by God, or you might then be Dawkins and claim that such a personal miracle is 'aliens'.
The short answer to your question is faith (trust). God values us having trust because Adam's failure was in not having trust in God. All Adam had to do was to trust God and call on him when faced with the choice of eating the fruit or not. It appears God wants all of us to do better than our first parents. He will not reveal himself to us without our consent and desire.
My own story involves realising that for the life of me, I couldn't derive objective morality without God. Sam Harris used to be my hero, and the moral landscape has so many problems with it. I listened to a podcast of the Lotus Eaters where they destroyed any ideas that I had for an objective morality based on a non-God foundation. Once you realise this to be true, that outside God morslity is purely relativistic, I could explain all the mass mental illness around gender confusion, political correctness, child abuse via trans surgeries. That was what was did for me to be mentally open to the idea of God. After that all I had to do was sincerely pray to Him, I did and I'm grateful He showed up when I got severely sick a few weeks later.
