      Thank you. She’s enjoying learning and handling them. The more she interacts, she becomes less afraid, and more confident. I’m very proud of her.

    Nice work. A couple of suggestions. There is no need to smoke those 2 framers or any other small colony. Have it ready, just in case. Beetles do fly. Maybe get your helper some better fitting gloves. Good luck to yall. I subbed and look forward to watching yall grow.

      Just to clarify what I meant by not using smoke- When your colonies are small, going to them without smoke gives you the opportunity to observe their natural behavior. When you smoke them they go into sort of a panic mode. Take advantage of this while you can.

    A couple of minor remarks (after the first hive):
    1) I would empty out the new box before starting the operation. That will limit the time the hives are open. It will also limit the time the field workers return to an empty box.
    2) You didn't remove the bur comb from all the frames (from memory from the second and forth, not from the third).
