30 seconds into your walk... bam, morrels! I spent last Sunday and yesterday and never found a single one... however I did find tons of oysters. Still a good time and they were easy finds. Great video again.
3 years ago I actually found some morels growing in the middle of a grape vineyard in central California they weren't falls morels the only thing they get sprayed with pesticides .
I love your videos!!! I've been a hiker and forager in the PNW for many years and you are getting me out of the house and back on the trails. The identification is really helpful. (skunk weed, red belted conk, etc) Please keep posting!
I hope you do more of these types of videos, this was absolutely fascinating. I'll be watching your other videos later. Thank you for bringing us along!
those woods are so gorgeous!! as someone who has never foraged outside of my county in NC, it’s my dream to visit some of the old growth forests in the NW
I discovered my favorite mushroom whilst looking up random mushrooms. Enteloma Hochstetteri - probably the most beautiful organism I've ever seen, that deep royal blue is my favorite color ever. It's just STUNNING.
I found some 🍄 took em. Some dried up & got small. There was these big ones tops are white kinda silver sometimes Brown on caps & sometimes pink gills but they get holes & go dirt Brown & inside the cap hidden till falls apart dead bugs maybe. This one clump I found small never changed still have it it's grey n looks furry is it a type chanterell, idk. What I do.know is when I find turkey tail n reishi. Still got a big hard not moldy looking resin from last yr. Use it as a display price too hard/old now. I have some turkey tail n use em/love em. I know this one street that seems to get more 🍄 vs other streets. ✌
i found a bunch of oyster mushrooms this weekend in the swamp by my cabin thanks to the rain, although they're way more flimsy than the ones you found in the beginning of your video. this is my first year of foraging and those were the first edible mushrooms i found which is cool, even though i myself probably wont eat them. i gave them to my girlfriend who likes to fry them up. hope i dont poison her lol. about how long would you say they keep in the fridge?
Lichens are medicine. Not all but some....like white moss aka caribu moss...it grows without soil. Like an Air plant. Old man's beard is also medicine and a lichen. Loads of beneficial uses.
Check out the last videos on the channel, morels 101, finding burn morels, finding natural morels, finding landscape morels. All the morel info you could want!
You're putting out a lot of good content. TY Question on the oyster mushrooms. Does it have any look-a-likes whether edible or inedible? Was up today in the 2600' level south of Sequim looking for morels. Any sense what they're growing elevations are around here? I'd always heard they tend to follow the snow level, but if I recall from your other video that tends to be another variety of morel if following the snow line. I'm just wondering if I'm too high, or maybe also too late in the season.
They're considered edible too, unless you are a Japanese elderly person in 2004 with kidney issues. Also, they only grow on conifer in the autumn, so your safe! 🍄🤙
When properly decarboxylated, A. muscaria's 'active' compounds become tolerable, with limited to no adverse effects, to which is very reminiscent of gaba agonists of varying degrees.
A 40 minute mushroom foraging video? YES!!

Old burn areas are a great place to find morels, careful not to mix them up with the false morels! Those false ones are poisonous.

Do you worry about angel wings? I’m concerned they look a lot like oysters.
